To be honest, the type RS is my first BOV so I am not aware of its relation to Greddy's other BOVs. However, I can say that it is a pretty badass piece. I bought the full aluminum hotpipe kit with the BOV from phase2motortrend and it looks very sharp. There is a slight boost leak at around 3500 rpm but this only occurs at half throttle. Otherwise I'd say that it is a solid piece.

me in my garage haha. it has clearcoat, its just orangepeeled to hell and back. need to wetsand it badly. believe it or not after sand and buff, it actually looks like car paint, instead of spray can!

Looks like he painted it "dry", moved the gun too fast and didn't cover enough area. Those fenders need to be pulled big time, and 2000wetsand + buff.

what does "painting it dry" mean. its fucked up because i sprayed with a 30 dollar ebay gun that was clogged. had to pull the needle all the way out of the gun to get paint to come out, and when it came out, it was so much material i couldnt move the gun fast enough.

but yea like you said it needs cut and buff. i just havent been working on it at all since im trying to get the thing running before i worry bout the paint.

Dry is when you move the gun too fast. Looks like you didn't lay down enough material to give it a deep rich look(which you just mentioned).

Unless you don't have any shock travel, those wheels are going to rubb on the fenders.

Metallics are a bitch to paint..cause if you ever change your spray pattern, it's going to show. Blobs of metallic here and there.

there is a TON of clear on the car. i drowned it to make sure i had enough to wetsand. itll be fine when i get done with it. when i get the car running ill see if it rubs. the fender looks to be angled properly, i dont think it will rub very bad. the paint isnt metallic. its mercedes red with gold flake in the clear.

mine is the only one that look like that, there's few S14 with some engine modified, but less than 10..
Other 2 kouki is near to be finished well, all 2 with Msport aero, one is full of good stuff! and a zenki with VS version1..

engine isn't crazy, just s14 sr20det with stock bottom end. only mods are hks 264 cams, cam pulley, head gasket, comp cam valve springs. turbo is garrett gt2871

At the moment I feel the need of more HP on mine but problem is for go over 300hp a new turbo is need and with turbo also ecu and other things..so too much..damn..my final point would be around 350/380 but streetable car.. :bash: :bash:

Thanks. The manifold is an SS-Autochrome :x: tubular stainless manifold, but I took a wire wheel to it to take the shitty "chrome" plating off of it since it looked like crap after 6 months of baking. I've had good luck with it, its been in since October too, so it's not too new.

That is why you set the camber to what you want it and modify the fenders to match.

This project is slightly haulted because of our race sil-80. I do have sideskirts and rear valance to put on. This car was painted by me in my friends back yard.(had to wet sand the bugs off^^)
