Why thank you sir! Coming to any events in OK next year?
It will. Just take your time with it. Roll on the glue as smooth as you can, let the flock material "fall" onto the dash, and let dry for 48 Hours before handling it. Done. |

Thank you for the tip about the rollers. I need to go buy more materials soon. couple follow up questions: -About how far away did you have the can from the dash? 12-18"? -What PSI did you use on your compressor as well. Flock-it recommended 25-30psi use. Also any updates on your build man? how is the new chassis coming along??

Flock-it recommended 25-30psi use. Also any updates on your build man? how is the new chassis coming along??[/QUOTE] I applied the flock from the air gun canister @ 18-20 psi. I held the gun roughly 18-20" away to cover a greater area. You will see how it applies after a minute. The only time I got close than a foot was on hard to reach areas. Just remember you can never apply too much. It isn't paint. You want to build up a nice even layer. Shake off the excess and apply more. The chassis is undergoing the dreaded "fill this spot, weld this hole, shave this, tuck that, remove all needless items" part. Rear quarters are getting welded up and I have begun work on the front firewall. Drivers seat mount is done, passenger bracket will arrive end of this week. I have decided to make them fixed to provide more safety and lowest seating position. The trans tunnel will be modified for greater clearance and removable top to expose the bell housing bolts. Once this is done I will post some more pics. Once this is completed, the cage work will begin. Then the real excitement (for me anyways) starts lol. |

That's my secret. I'm waiting to take advantage of senior rates at events. Thus how I will afford pro am competition.

Time for another upgrade. Not only is this Sweet Mfg collapsible column and quick release lighter, it is super smooth with ZERO shaft play. "lol"
Customized seat brackets. I decided to go with Planted as they offer the lowest brackets for the S chassis. However, like everything else, it was good enough. We dropped them down 1/2", moved them inward (closer to tunnel) 3/4". I had to massage some of the sheet metal for bottom clearance but did not modify floor (a few sanctioning bodies forbid it). Rear quarters are cut and new sheet metal is curved and ready to be installed. However, this is now the point for media blast to allow a quick process of the remaining fabrication, cage and stitch welding. Next updates will be huge guys. Stay tuned! |

Awesome update!
I also went with planted for my seat brackets. I had to massage the floor a little on the drives side. Passenger side no issues at all.

That switch panel looks amazing!!! Is that along with your engine harness all one kit? Or is the switch panel separate?

Engine harness will tie into the main control panel, which in turn is operated by the switch panel. The ECU will do majority of operating items it typically controls (fans, ignition, etc). However I've made it to where the ecu will activate the Accusump and the switch panel will activate the fuel pump. I want total control of the fuel from my fingers.

That steering column is intriguing.
Do you have to fab anything up to make it work or is there a bolt on and go addition to make it work? One last thing, do you know if it improves steering feel? Nice build by the way man. |

To answer your question I will have to drive it first. But speaking directly with race teams who have gone to this setup, feedback is amplified. You can feel exactly what the car is doing and response is instantaneous. Thanks for kind words! Last edited by scottie; 12-24-2015 at 03:39 PM.. |

Hey Scottie did you notice when mounting your passenger side "planted" seat rail that the side mounting brackets don't align fully on the floor mounts? They seem to be in about .25-.50 of an inch on each side?

Yes. When I first tossed them in the car for a baseline for seat position, I noticed these were off. Honestly despite similar dimensions each seat manufacturer has their own specs. No different seat is exactly alike. If you are lucky you can simply mill the existing hole enough to get the bolt in. In my case being that I wanted the seat down another 1" and over 3/4", it didn't matter much to me. Even the Bride FG rails had to be modded for the width and height of aftermarket buckets.

Don't hold your breath. Both driver and passenger were off about the same on mine. My friend is running Racetech in his 86 Corolla. It's a fantastic seat. It would be my second choice for FIA approved seats.
