Isn't calling someone a neo-nazi just as bad a calling someone the "G" or the "F" or the "N" word?
Anyway... I think this thread could put the forum at risk, or its traffic at least. I can come in here and disagree with a lot of your opinions and just disregard them for the rest of the forum, but I know that's not the case for everyone in here.
I saw someone calling somebody else a fascist or racist or something like that on his FS thread because of something that was said on this one.
Remember this is a car forum, dont let stuff from this thread spill onto others.
No, a racial/sexual slur is not the same thing as a political insult.
Yep.
You choose to have terrible believes.
You don't choose your sexual orientation or race.

So here is where it stands. I have yet to call anyone names (libtard, asshole, idiot, etc), but they have been lobbed my direction on several ocassions
I have asked on more than one occasion throughout the thread
1) Why is it that you support trump. And the answer cannot be "better than Killary". I have requested legitimate reasons why one supports trump. Just why is he better than HRC??
2) I have asked on several occasions for someone to come up with proper reasons what makes HRC a terrible candidate, and not the talking points presented by Fox News. I gave one (she is somewhat disconnected from the normal blue collar voter)
3) I have asked people to cite proper sources on where they get information from (eg: he west came up with 90% of the inventions). I have gone as far as providing several sources that debunks a fair amount of news on what Fox News reports on. The response??
And what I have gotten on all occasions?? People refuse to cite proper sources, answer any of my questions or give proper reasons why they support trump. What I get is "I am taking my ball and going home" and "You are just some asshole libtard".
THIS is why we cannot have a proper discussion. Everyone wants to slander and when presented with real discussions, I get the above response.
Same thing with Obama. Why the hate?? He is the only president in modern history to not have a scandal attached to his name. Yes, he sucked when it came to healthcare (which I admitted several pages back), but he got us out of the 2008 recession
As long as we continue to live in our fantasy world and refuse to accept our own issues, problems and biases, the discussion is going to always degrade into shit slinging........
No, a racial/sexual slur is not the same thing as a political insult.
Thank you immensely for this. I was waiting for someone to catch on to this.
I never called anyone a facist. What I said was his stance was borderline facist. Grossly different scenarios.

Damn yo, but Texas has so many active clan chapters its ridiculous! Its bad when I give my safety brief to 100 Sailors and have to mention this, and areas were there likely to be subjected to racsim. Its also not fun to tell young Sailors and Airmen that we have no clear guidance on DACA, but let's go to war! We will sort this detail out on the back end!

Right, that's to be expected from NK though. You wouldn't expect a US President to reciprocate in kind. It's like 2 nuclear capable children arguing. Both so eager to send other folks kids off to war.

But that is NK. We had our chance to curtail their capability to enrich uranium in the Obama era, and we fell short. I need to go back and dig through why exactly we turned the other direction (I think it had something to do with Iran, but my memory is somewhat hazy in that regard).
Either way, that has been a NK stance for some time. For a standing president of the free world to state "We are willing to wipe them off the face of the planet", for someone so triggered like KJU, that is essentially a threat or declaration of war.
It's like a small kid seeing a small venomous snake in the corner and due to his size he keeps poking at it thinking "look at that pip squeek." Kid has no idea snake is venomous, then when the snake has had enough and strikes, kid is sent to the ER. Not life threatening is treated in time, but could potentially pivot into something that could forever cause issues.
trump is that kid.......
This is the perfect example of someone out of his swim lane in terms of foreign or........fuck it. This is a man with ZERO relations experience, be it foreign, domestic or otherwise.
All NK has to do is point a few missiles at Seoul and wipe 1/2 million people off the eart even before the US can mobilize, much less fire a single missile. And lets not forget, South Korea is an ally.......Sure that will go over well on both a national and the world stage. All because trump wants to measure dick sizes. Nothing else.
He can't explain that away with bribes........

He is not the first to do it. See Clinton
I know of no one who seriously believes that the United States and [South Korea] would be defeated in a war of aggression by North Korea if they were to attack,” Clinton said. “And I made it as clear as I could that if they were to do that, they would pay a price so great that the nation would probably not survive as it is known today.”
It is a threat. It is supposed to be. It is NOT a declaration of war. Obama also threatened NK though in a nicer way.
In one warning to North Korea against launching a long-range missile, Obama said (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/apr/03/north-korea-missile-obama) that if it should “decide to take this action, we will work with all interested partners in the international community to take appropriate steps to let North Korea know that they cannot threaten the safety and stability of other countries with impunity.”
I am no Trump fan in the least bit but I do not think his response is as bad as people are making it out to be especially considering NK has backed up some of their usual rhetoric with some action. Do remember they shot a missile over Japan.

........
So there are several key things you fail to mention in your post and I would like to put your response into context
Footnotes:
1) Clinton came up with the Framework deal between the US and NK. Deal: international consortium planned to replace the North’s plutonium reactor with two light-water reactors; in the meantime, the United States would supply the North with 500,000 tons of heavy fuel oil every year to make up for the theoretical loss of the reactor while the new ones were built
2) George W. Bush became president in 2001 and was highly skeptical of Clinton’s deal with North Korea. Secretary of State Colin L. Powell was even slapped down when he suggested the administration would follow the path set by the Clinton administration. The new administration terminated missile talks with Pyongyang and spent months trying to develop its own policy.
3) In response, the Bush administration terminated the supply of fuel oil that was essential to the agreement — and then North Korea quickly kicked out the U.N. inspectors, restarted the nuclear plant and began developing its nuclear weapons, using the material in radioactive fuel rods that previously had been under the close watch of the IAEA. Japan and South Korea, the key partners in the accord, were not happy with the decision to terminate the Agreed Framework, but there was little they could do about it.
Within two years, U.S. intelligence analysts concluded North Korea was using the plutonium to create nuclear weapons.
The rest is history..........Essentially NK was cheating on the Framework deal, hence the move for Clinton to make such statements
Trump on the other hand. No such deal in place to be boasting such statements.
So in essence, Clinto scripted a crappy deal, Bush administration comes in and really blows it up. NK moves to issue middle finger to the US.
If people care to read, see below
Why did Clinton's NK deal fail. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/08/09/history-lesson-why-did-bill-clintons-north-korea-deal-fail/?utm_term=.ad8eb3d82026)
The Facts
Clinton’s deal was called the Agreed Framework. In contrast to the detailed and lengthy agreement negotiated in 2015 under President Barack Obama intended to restrain Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the Agreed Framework, struck in 1994, was only a few pages long.
Essentially, an international consortium planned to replace the North’s plutonium reactor with two light-water reactors; in the meantime, the United States would supply the North with 500,000 tons of heavy fuel oil every year to make up for the theoretical loss of the reactor while the new ones were built.
North Korea’s program was clearly created to churn out nuclear weapons; the reactor at Yongbyon was not connected to the power grid and appeared only designed to produce plutonium, a key ingredient for nuclear weapons. The theory of the deal was that, with the plant shuttered and the plutonium under the close watch of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), North Korea would not be able to produce a bomb. There were also vague references in the text to improving relations and commerce.
The deal was hugely controversial in Congress. Just as with Obama’s Iran negotiations, Clinton structured the agreement so that it was not considered a treaty that would have required ratification by the Senate. As with Iran, there was also an international component, with South Korea, Japan and a European agency joining with the United States to create an organization to implement the accord.
As Iowa State University professor Young Whan Kihl noted in an article exploring the political ramifications:
Since the “Agreed Framework” took the form of a presidential “executive agreement,” rather than a formal treaty (such as SALT I & II), the U.S. Senate did not need to give “advise and consent” under the U.S. Constitution. However, the terms of the agreement are controversial and subject to scrutiny by the Republican-dominant U.S. Congress that began a series of congressional hearings in mid-January 1995. Some congressmen and senators demanded that the “agreed framework” be treated as a formal treaty; this move was resisted by the Clinton Administration but, because of the budgetary and appropriation clauses of the agreement, the U.S. Congress was inevitably drawn into the process of implementation and verification of the agreement.
So how did North Korea get its hands on the nuclear material? George W.
Then intelligence agencies determined that North Korea was cheating on the agreement by trying to develop nuclear material through another method — highly enriched uranium. The Bush administration sent an envoy who confronted North Korea — and the regime was said to have belligerently confirmed it in 2002, just as the Bush administration was mostly focused on the pending invasion of Iraq.
In response, the Bush administration terminated the supply of fuel oil that was essential to the agreement — and then North Korea quickly kicked out the U.N. inspectors, restarted the nuclear plant and began developing its nuclear weapons, using the material in radioactive fuel rods that previously had been under the close watch of the IAEA. Japan and South Korea, the key partners in the accord, were not happy with the decision to terminate the Agreed Framework, but there was little they could do about it.
Within two years, U.S. intelligence analysts concluded North Korea was using the plutonium to create nuclear weapons.
After North Korea conducted its first nuclear test in 2006, the Bush administration tried desperately to negotiate a new accord with Pyongyang, including offering significant new concessions, but those efforts ultimately failed. Bush, to the anger of conservatives and the government of Japan, even removed North Korea from the State Department list of state sponsors of terrorism — only to see the hard work turn to dust. The nuclear genie by then was out of the bottle, and North Korea had little incentive to give up its stash of plutonium, no matter what the United States and its negotiating allies offered.
(Toward the end of the negotiations, the Bush administration learned that North Korea had helped Syria build a nuclear facility, which was destroyed by Israeli warplanes. Bush kept negotiating, even though North Korea in theory had crossed a “red line” set by Bush in 2003 that it could not transfer nuclear technology to other parties.)
The issue was considered such a loser that the Obama administration barely bothered to restart disarmament talks, adopting a stance dubbed “strategic patience.” (One official privately said the Obama team was stunned at the concessions offered by Bush when they reviewed the diplomatic history after taking office.) During that eight-year period of fitful talks, North Korea improved its mastery of nuclear technology, including uranium enrichment, and also its missile technology.
Questions have since been raised about whether the Bush administration misinterpreted North Korea’s supposed confirmation — and doubts also emerged about the quality of U.S. intelligence that inspired the confrontation. But Bush’s later efforts to negotiate a new accord were hampered by fresh evidence that North Korea actually did have an undisclosed uranium-enrichment program.
Interestingly, former Clinton administration officials have said they knew North Korea was cheating on the uranium enrichment front dating back to 1998 and planned to use that intelligence as leverage to keep the Agreed Framework in place and the plutonium under lock and key. Other Clinton administration officials will also concede that they never thought they would have to build the light-water reactors because they assumed, wrongly, that the regime would collapse before the reactors would be built.
But in the end, the regime has survived. Much like the Iranian accord negotiated by Obama, the North Korea deal had little bipartisan support and was rejected by the incoming president as a bad deal. But, as Bush quickly learned, terminating one deal is much easier than renegotiating a better one.

@Future240; Thanks for sparking me to do my research before making that long winded post :)
However, I would like to point out several stark differences
1) The quote you brought up from Clinton was in reference to a discussion between leader of South Korea at the time Kim Yong and then president Clinton. The difference is in this quote below
The most important piece of our discussions centered on North Korea. We are both concerned by North Korea's concentration of forces near the Demilitarized Zone and by its refusal to grant international inspectors full access to its nuclear sites.
Source: This is actual dialogue as officially recorded.
.The President's News Conference With President Kim Yong-sam of South Korea (http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=46165)
2) NK did not (atleast, in the eyes of the public) have Nuclear warheads
3) Those warheads weren't pointed at the US
The fact that NK has wareheads, which (they boast) can reach US mainland does change how a sitting president needs to approach the situation. In addition, with "allys" (and I used the term lightly) in terms of China, the war posture and how you approach changes drastically from when Clinton had to deal with 2+ decades ago.
I understand your point, but the two are not one in the same. The rules of the game have changed immensely the past several decades, and trump is seemingly oblivious to this

I can agree that Trump went overboard with what his comments suggest (fire and fury sounds like nuclear to me) but I still feel he is right in letting NK know we will not stand for their mess.
Ultimately I hope both Nk and the POTUS can check their ego's and not get engage in a war that would leave millions of Koreans dead.

Mexico was never going to pay for that wall. It was the stupidest thing that anyone was stupid enough to ever believe. At this point, even people in his own party are using whatever means they can to not-so-subtly suggest to him to let it the fuck go. This is probably in hopes that his supporters feel properly betrayed when it never materializes and the US voting public puts them out of their (The GOP's) hair.
Instead of taking the hint, this guy instead decides to try to change the story and say that it should be the military's bill to foot since, you know, they are the ones holding all the cash now. This will never get any better.

Devil's advocate here.
I get an extra $100 a month from the tax bill in take home money.
On the subject of the wall, I agree with Phlip. It was asinine to believe he would make a foreign country pay for the wall.
I have major doubts now he will get it built since the omnibus bill specifically excludes funds for said wall.

I think it is a setup. They specifically included the language to get his panties in a bunch, which seems to happen so easily. Then he takes to doing stupid shit like included in the link with which I bumped this thread this morning. THEN he actively attempts to do some shit that, constitutionally, he cannot do.
Then, in the shame of having accomplished next to nothing he said he would in the campaign trail, they get to primary him if he hasn't resigned before 2020.
Personally, I prefer him being primaried and/or losing an election to him resigning and landing us with any amount of time in a Pence presidency.

And I will play Devil's advocate as well
1) the tax bill is sunsets in 2025 for everyone but the top 5%. Not permanent. Also, there is a good chance those same savings just evaporated after the 1.3 Trillion spending bill. Essentially, they were banking on folks seeing a minor increase in their paycheck until right after 2018 midterms. Who is going to pay for all this spending since now earnings are negative for the tax cut?? To be entirely honest, $100 is peanuts in the grand scheme of things. Now, does it help individuals?? abso freacking lutely. No denying that for sure. Is it permanent?? I wouldn't bet on it
Remember; your health insurance for instance is still going up (just one example). And the reason it is continually increasing is not solely based on the ACA. That's a fact.
Your monthly increased intake will evaporate very quickly.
P.S Those Tarriffs trump lackadaisically signed?? Drove up metal costs some 12%- 30% literally immediately based off which metal is in question (and that is taking into account US production). Yeah, those super Rays wheels just went up in price. Yeah, $100 just evaporated in shipping costs........And no, the US production will never suffice the commodity deficit. Also, we have a trade positive with Canada (which trump lied to the Canadian president about..........and I have no idea why lied about it!)
2) Still no where close to what the top percent is making in regards to the tax plan. Still lopsided.
But either way, my point is; trump lies. Simple. Pivoting to taxes, Obama and how many tattoos Chris Brown has was never the topic of discussion.

With these raw material tariffs, our economy is going to be so, so, so fucked.
Hey Trump supporters, why do you hate capitalism?
The costs of the tariffs will be met with an increase in the costs of EVERYTHING dependent on those raw goods, which is eventually every. fucking. thing. The argument could become "well more people will buy American," but the fact remains that buying American for these kinds of things has always been noticeably more expensive.
So everything people THINK they got back on the GOP Tax $cam will be offset by the increase of the cost of everything we want and need.

Rust belt fails to accept automation and cheap child labor over in China. But....... it's Obama's fault!!! Because he has control over how China produced anything....while also not being our current president.
All the cheap goods trump supporters and in all honesty the entire North America enjoy was NOT produced in America. Start producing in America?? Yeah now no one can afford anything
Remember people; child Chinese labor and automation in the case of robots don't have labor unions, need vacation with pay or need health insurance....that get rolled into production costs
You can't have your cake and eat it as well. But yeah, Obama is to blame..it's always Obama right?

You do know the tax hit you took this year is the gop/ trump plan right? So essentially you're entire first statement is based off a falsehood. The tax plan was changed late last year and why the filling date was pushed back and also why the IRS was scrambling to update the code.
So thank your glorious leader for screwing you over.....I guess the gop plan worked as intended....
And I'm not a leftist BTW, but thanks for basing your assertions on nothing...
Also the losing candidate was HRC, no Obama.....

Care about yourself in the here and now if you like.
$50 on a paycheck seems like "oh my god, Trump loves us!" No, he loves that media that created him more than he will EVER love you. Scroll up to post 793 in this very thread for why 9,100 is SO worth it to you that you'll pawn the bill for that shit off on your kids for the rest of forever. The public debt doesn't just go away, and like anyone who has been late on a credit card will tell you that shit tends to come back uglier than it left you. THis administration is angering republicans in congress with this fuckery. This will not end pretty and I would sooner throw the $50 more in my paycheck than to see my daughter's generation footing the bill for it. Hell, I did more for myself than your president did in -- gasp -- working hard and earning a promotion.

Did a bit of digging on the insurance fee
It's 695 or 2.9% whichever is higher. So that equates to $58 a month, way cheaper than if you actually purchased insurance. And better yet, when you go to the ER or a doctors visit, you can kindly pass off the bill to the tax payer as by law, no hospital can turn you away. Great, thanks for being the tax burden which necessitated such a change and what all the trump supporters complain about.....essentially themselves indirectly
....In all honesty they should have charged what would be equivalent to the lowest health insurance premium so atleast people properly pay their way
HRC has been out of the lime light until a few weeks ago. I would also be pissed if I learned the election was essentially tosses by data mining by Cambridge Analytica because people have inherent biases...again non starter about HRCs behavior

I am not sure how you are equate all 5 of those cases to liberals. Reading through, here my quick notes (P.S all the information can be found within the first few sentences of each on of your postings.......)
1) No name town in IL (I had to dig to find it being Deerfield, IL lol). In this case, it wasn't a "liberal" taking away "your" guns, it was an entire town that introduced the bill which moved through council. Vote was passed unanimous 6-0 by board of trustees. So no, not a liberal taking away your guns......
Isn't this how the voting process is suppose to occur?? As far as I am concerned, this follows the letter of the law and is exactly how bills and debates are supposed to occur. Also, town in IL, no affect on you......
2) NOT passed as of yet. It is literally a reading of the introduced bill. And again, this went through a 5 hour long hearing, with arguments from BOTH sides. Again, BOTH SIDES. not just liberals foaming at the mount. And again, this is following the process to the T of the law and how it should be done. I will quote a text that appears within the first two lines of the story. Also, Boulder is pretty evenly split down the middle; 33% liberals, 33% Dem, 33% Rep due to the rising Millennial population, the old guard but also the Military/Air base. So again, not liberals trying to take away YOUR guns in a state you do NOT live in.......
The Boulder City Council on Thursday night unanimously passed on first reading an ordinance that bans the sale and possession of certain firearms defined as assault weapons.
The council adjourned following a more than five-hour-long meeting where nearly 150 people signed up to speak for and against the proposed ordinance, which would also prohibit high-capacity magazines and bump stocks, a device that allows a semi-automatic weapon to be fired more like a fully automatic rifle. By the end of the evening, about 111 people actually spoke, according to Councilmember Sam Weaver.
3) Again, nothing is passed. Duke (a Indianapolis councilman) "introduced a resolution". Its not law yet and no member of an Indiana City councilman is allowed to pass a bill. Only to introduce it.......He is however a Democrat, but not necessarily a liberal. There IS a difference. In a little reading, he also supports labor unions. So yeah, he could very well be a liberal....
4) Again, all the information is within the first paragraph. A federal judge UPHELD, not INSTITUTED the current ban. Ban was in place before liberals were a thing........
A federal district court judge in Boston has upheld the state's ban on assault weapons – AR-15 semi-automatic rifles and large-capacity magazines – finding that the issue is not a constitutional matter but one for each state to determine on its own politically.
So in each of your case, if you just read past the first few sentences, none of these would have supported your point of view......
So no, in all 4 or your postings does it state a liberal is trying to take away your guns.
Also, I would like to point out the hypocrisy of your post. Theoretically speaking mind you, but the same underlying concept prevails. If you have a bill/idea/etc to introduce extended magazine 9mm piston, wouldn't it be fair to also go through the same process to argue your case?? How is it different that someone else is arguing against your stance?? Do you see the hypocrisy in your post??
In 3 of the 4 cases above, people are moving to introduce a bill they see is a solution to school violence and not a direct shot at taking away your guns. If you legally own and "operate" your weapons, what does it matter to you anywho?? You are a law abiding gun owner correct??

I am not sure how you are equate all 5 of those cases to liberals. Reading through, here my quick notes (P.S all the information can be found within the first few sentences of each on of your postings.......)
1) No name town in IL (I had to dig to find it being Deerfield, IL lol). In this case, it wasn't a "liberal" taking away "your" guns, it was an entire town that introduced the bill which moved through council. Vote was passed unanimous 6-0 by board of trustees. So no, not a liberal taking away your guns......

Since you refuse to read my dissertation I will ask a couple quick questions below (or I recommend you actually read your own posted articles). Also, do not cast stones as you as well are playing the hypocrite as you labeled me as a "liberal" without knowing me, but I digress......
All I said was "you are a law abiding gun owner correct??" which escalates my prior sentence statement........But again, I digress and will move on from the "assumptions" argument.
Questions: You said in your earlier posts that unless it begins to affect you, you are maintaining status quo, correct?? So with that said, the ban on guns NOT IN YOUR STATE or which does not affect you (since well, you know, you do not own a gun) shouldn't be of your concern correct?? So which is it then??
You don't own a gun, but oh shit, the liberals are taking away our guns (which I wont even mention the fact that NONE of your articles posted necessarily supports your stance, but anyways.........)! Liberals are the reason we cant have nice things......but you don't own a gun, so why do you care in which case some of these ordinances were already in place, so why do you care?? How can a liberal take away something.....that was already "taken away"?? How does that make even remote sense??
I still just do not get your argument at times You keep talking out of both sides of your mouth.......
And I am glad to waste my day learning about actual stories and forming proper informative arguments. Iam no gun owner, and in all honesty, I do not have a stance one way or another. I just simply do not have enough information (outside of school shootings) to form a proper stance in my eyes.
However, I am glad reading and critical thinking is considered a waste of your time. I am perfectly OK with that.

Gun control is popular with both sides now. While there is a left bias for control it is not just liberals.
https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2018/04/05/ohio-gun-control-laws-john-kasich-republicans/488783002/
and lets not forget the potus himself on bump stocks.
https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2018/03/10/592602846/trump-administration-moves-to-ban-bump-stocks
I am a law abiding gun owner and I support tighter controls, like better background checks but not all out banning. Prohibition has never worked.
This thing of seizing guns of people who are considered a threat is a knee jerk policy reaction. That is lacking of due process and is ripe for abuse.
I get it. We wont to keep guns out of the hands who misuse them. The left and the right need to come together on this and hash out a plan that has data behind it. No knee jerk, trying to get elected policy making.
Perhaps with the cdc (finally) being allowed to due a study, we can see the problem behind this and come up with a better plan. Mental health for instance seems a good place to start.

Good post Future.
In the cases of school shooting, in a majority of those cases, the weapon was purchased legally, so yeah. Its tough if you live in a state where gun ownership is legal and you have zero priors (not even a speeding ticket).
Last I checked, the LAS Vegas shooter just loved to gamble........and he lived in Vegas so red flag not found.
As far as all the illegal weapons in circulation, that's a whole can of worms I simply am not able to discuss as I really don't have an answer to how to combat that. Bad guys don't follow laws :(

Completely ignoring the free for all that is gun ownership in both Wisconsin & Indiana, aka less than an hour from the city.

You bring up another point. Prohibition in one state but not the other, might as well be no prohibition (see Colorado and weed) as people will find a way.
No one knows the exact right answer. I wish our represented leaders would stop bickering and finger pointing and come together to address the problem.
But instead its much easier to please your base by blaming the other side.

Pretty sure I never called you a Liberal or anything other than your screen name (if I even did that) in this thread. I could be wrong, but off the dome, I don't believe so.
Questions: You said in your earlier posts that unless it begins to affect you, you are maintaining status quo, correct?? You're pretty much asking the same question, "It doesn't effect me so why should I care" in which I'll say, I'm not gay, but I believe they should have the right to get married. I've never had an abortion but I believe women should have the right to have an abortion. It's a right. I may want to go buy an assault rifle tomorrow. If I do, I don't want to turn around and find out I have to hand it over or face hefty fines.
I'm FOR more common sense gun control, but common sense doesn't mean ban scary weapons or all "semi automatic" fire arms which is ridiculous. Like Future said stricter laws are popular right now and I'm for them. I'm also in the boat that gun laws won't do a god damn thin for mass shootings or the every day gun violence like we see here in Milwaukee.
Again though, lets have a REAL conversation about it and pass things that might actually work. I don't know what that is exactly, but I'm not a law maker.
I still just do not get your argument at times You keep talking out of both sides of your mouth.......[/QUOTE]
I definitely do. I'm a person. Not a label like you keep trying to use and paint me with. I'm a white male who TYPICALLY votes Republican, but also lean Libertarian and center left on many social issues. My life experiences have lead to my beliefs. I do not believe them just to spite you or anyone else.
What I'm very tired of though are two things:
1. The hatefulness and anger coming from everyone who doesn't agree with Trump (in this thread and the country). It's nasty and unproductive. You don't have to agree with everything he says or does, God knows I sure the fuck don't. But to be so vile against anyone who disagrees with you politically is just awful.
2. Holding Tump to a different standard than we held other presidents. I get Obama isn't the President anymore, but he still WAS the president. He LIED. On countless occasions. Whether they were intentional or not is not relevant. And if you weren't calling out Obama at the time that you shouldn't have so much angst about Trump.
I'm not going to keep rambling on and on about this stuff, but let me just say I want to see what actually happens. 3 months ago the media had Trump Tweeting us into a nuclear war. Now here we are with Trump having an unprecedented meeting with Kim Jong-il to discuss nuclear disarmament. It hasn't happened yet, but no one has even gotten this far with it. So lets give it a chance.
That's how I feel about all of it.
The tax changes have been great. Granted my wife and I are "high income" earners, but the tax changes have been fantastic for us. And not just fo a guy on a forum, but for a FAMILY with three special needs kids. It's a big deal to us. Seriously.

So we shouldn't hold Trump to the standard that Trump held Obama to?
Remember him saying the POTUS wasn't a citizen? That he's a Kenyan Muslim & therefore not worthy of our trust?
Remember him saying he'd never take a day off or golf in office?
Remember him calling the electoral college a disaster for American democracy?
Remember when he called for people to march on Washington?
Remember when he said "Are you allowed to impeach a president for gross incompetence?" during Obama's second term in office?
Remember when he said "It’s Thursday. How many people have lost their healthcare today?" and then worked to take healthcare from millions of Americans (but failed because he doesn't know the art of the deal)?
Remember when he said, "Barack Obama has a record low 39% Gallup approval rating. Why so high?" but has struggled to ever break that number?
Remember when he said, "ATTN: @HillaryClinton - Why did five of your staffers need FBI IMMUNITY?!" but multiple of his staffers have been arrested, had offices raided, etc.?
How about when he said, "Why is @BarackObama spending millions to try and hide his records? He is the least transparent President--ever--and he ran on transparency," yet has offered even less transparency?
I was not a huge fan of Obama. In hindsight I'm even less a fan of Obama.
But next to Trump, yeah, he was something. If nothing else he gave folks hope, misplaced or not, he gave people something to believe in. A mixed race dude from an immigrant father & a single mom raised largely by his grandparents was elected President of the US. He preached inclusion & betterment for all (whether he practiced that, eh not so much). He was replaced by a fossil of a bygone era, a racist, misogynist who preaches hate, flails wildly at all triggers & engenders scandal with his every move.
We aren't holding Trump to a different standard than previous presidents.
We hold Trump to the same standard we've held every other president too.
He is just incompetent in this position.

I figure there is some high level fuckery afoot to go to the HIGHLY unconventional and even more highly difficult task of getting a warrant for such a search instead of a subpoena.
It not dissimilar from them NOT being able to search your lawyer if they think you might have told him you were selling dope, but FULL able to do so if there was probable cause to think that said lawyer was holding your dope for you.
In short, that means they have reason to think that there is some shit that Cohen has done something too. Either Cohen will sing like everyone before him or will be (perhaps has been) paid to sit in prison while this plays out after being held in contempt.

Way ahead of ya Phlip. Please, do try to keep up :naughty:
But yes, I tend to agree. To sign off on a raid just based off a couple paid of playmates?? Yeah, they have bigger fish to fry.
All news sources are saying "search for payoff of women". But judging by how calculated this whole investigation has been carried out (remember, Manaforts Office was raided months before any word got out! I mean, the raid occurred (literally) miles from a major airport and no one had a clue!), something's a brewing out back. The AG had to sign off on it, so yeah........
Then there is the whole Attorney-Client privilege thing. No lawyer, much less the AG, would sign off on any raid knowing full well Cohen could exercise his A-C right and not say a word.
Something is spooky about this raid and I do not think any of the news sources have the full story. But like sheep, everyone is running the "breaking news"........

The recent FBI raid is very interesting indeed. Prosecutors need to have a solid case of probable cause to a judge and get approval across the upper ranks of the DOJ & FBI. It's not an action that was taken lightly, especially when it's an attorney that's being raided in THREE locations.
What's also interesting is that this was not orchestrated by the Special Counsel, but rather the public corruption's team in the U.S. Southern District of NY. That's very telling since it means that no matter what happens with the Special Counsel, Cohen is in some serious legal jeopardy. Trump can absolutely pardon him, but the NY AG will mostly file a case of their own which Cohen is not shielded from. NY state laws are pretty serious when it comes to finance crimes.
I also think should the Special Counsel get fired, there will still be an ongoing investigation and they can be farmed out to the U.S. District of DC and Eastern District of VA. Trump tries to execute pardons, then you have state AG's just waiting to file a case.
This is an absolute legal mess, but very interesting to see how it all plays out.

Wrong...
You could only have made this claim if he had won the popular vote and had some kind of claim of a mandate of his policy.
Instead, the fact of the matter is that he used dogwhistle politics to foment and normalize the bigotry of people in former slave states. Before anyone starts withe "omg, slavery is over" thing, please remember that the weighting of the electoral college "gave" a little something to former slave states in giving them heavier electoral representation.

No it isn't. He's president because the backwards states that contribute little to the economy & hold a minority of the population voted heavily in his favor. Even in states that he won, go to the urban areas, where the jobs & people actually live and what happens? Oh, Trump voters are very rare.
But yeah, he'll make those coal towns great again.

Here's the difference between the biases I (a liberal) have and the biases many conservatives have.
I dislike republicans for their choices that are bad for the country & are often targeted against people as a result of the way they were born or other things they cannot control.
Republicans dislike people because of their sexuality, race, etc. They vote for measures that would hurt people with illnesses, things that people often cannot control.
Being disliked for being a shithead is not the same as being disliked for being of a different race.

No
What is he is saying is, the count of vote matters, NOT the representation of the count.
A football game with a score of 42(home) - 10 (away), who won that game?? It sure as hell isn't the team with 10 points vs a team with 42 points at the final whistle.
How is the will of the people is represented by only 10% of the vote?? The majority voted against trump. Simple mathematics really.
Now do I agree or disagree with the electoral college is a different story. However, turnout for HRC was also to blame (which a majority stemmed from cyber attacks by the Russians and the right based off nothing but lies. This is already proven by the Cambridge Analytica story. See pizza gate for a perfect example where innocent folks almost died).

First and foremost, I'm quite happy Hillary lost. IMO she was the most un-electable candidate in recent history (yes worse than Trump), she hijacked the democratic party and viewed herself as above all and it was 'her time'. But the last 3 election cycles has been hold your nose and vote for the lesser of evils anyway.
Secondly I don't think Trump has done a single thing to "drain the swamp" I was optimistic that he would being a political outsider but he is just as bad as all the ones before him.
Finally, just because you're a republican doesn't mean you're untouchable. Comey protected her, the whole investigation stinks of bribery. Hell the whole FBI protected her, and still continues to undermine Trump's presidency (granted he does a good job of undermining his own presidency). But it's hard to take them seriously as a non partisan unit when you have members getting caught playing party politics.

There is no government agency, position or department that exists to protect the president when the president is or might be doing dirt. Their only "loyalty" is to the constitution and doing the job of investigating anyone doing wrong - even if that person is the president - isn't "undermining" and surely isn't treating them "unfairly."
And let us not forget, despite the rumblings of a couple of employees, that the FBI was all for Trump leading into the election.

To be entirely honest, this is how the trump administration works. Divisiveness, racist, bigotry, collusion, lies, deceits, the whole lot. Folks who voted for trump didn't just vote for "someone to shake up Washington". They voted for someone who spews hatred, divides our country, has outwardly racist comments, incompetent in his position and everything else that constitutes evil.
I will say it wasn't me (and I have stayed away from this thread for a few days in all honesty). The irony is strong on this one as we had this very discussion about neg repping not but one page back. However, this is the type of culture trump breathes..........color me not surprised......
P.S Irony x 2. I am pretty sure, 1 page back you were also yelling at people for leveraging assumptions your direction. Well, now you are lodging "one of us cowards" assumption our direction without having any inclination or facts to support it with a blanket statement of "one of us cowards"......
I do not agree with someone giving you a neg rep. On the other hand, If anyone voted trump, this is what they voted into office....petty attacks of this nature. And as it turns out gbaby also gets a neg rep.........This is trump nation. Go ahead an embrace it........

Comey is a weird case. He's a lifelong Republican, undermined Mrs. Clinton's campaign & the like....but also has a moral issue with DJT.
The FBI is not the friend of liberals.
The FBI is not the friend of Trump (though I'd wager they do lean a bit conservative, less so though than local cops...which don't so much lean conservative as fall over to the right).
I don't want a conservative or liberal FBI. I want a FBI willing to investigate anyone who has done wrong. They do the job better than most government agencies do theirs.
SimpleS14

The Republican House chairmen are at it again (i.e. Devin Nunes). This time they want Rod Rosenstein to hand over Comey's memos unredacted. The problem with that is that these memos are evidence in an active FBI investigation, which DOJ does not willingly share. If Rosenstein refuses it can set up the precedent for him to get fired. If he complies, it could set him up for conduct violations...thus setting him up to get fired.
As for the US attorney office in SDNY, the interim AG (handpicked & interviewed by Trump) had to recuse himself from the Cohen investigation. His interim status will expire in a few weeks. At that point he is either formally nominated for Senate confirmation or replaced by another nominee. We already know how Trump feels about Session's recusal, so it probably won't be different from this recusal as well.
Also the Senate leader confirmed he will not bring to the floor a bill to protect Mueller.
I'm really curious to see how all of this plays out.
Comey is a weird case. He's a lifelong Republican, undermined Mrs. Clinton's campaign & the like....but also has a moral issue with DJT.
I agree. One on hand he raises some interesting thoughts, but on the other he gets real petty and interjects into politics. Also as a witness in an active investigation, you would think he would not go HAM on the media blitz spilling the tea to sell his book too.
In relation to Cohen's investigation and adding for anyone interested...

Also, your insistence on stoking political conversation, and then shying away from political conversation when it differs from what you personally believe in is fuckshit.
See: Killer Mike, the NRA, Trump, Putin, any hotbutton GOP issue, "I am not my party" while towing the party line and anything else you've been guilty of. If you don't want a political conversation, stop starting political conversations,
It is not terribly dissimilar from "I have a 'black friend, I will tag him in the comments under this video of 8 year-old using the n-word" on FB. Now please tell me how you left FB because you were tired of political conversations in the midst of a political conversation ON THIS FORUM that you keep coming back to.
I love the "... well I don't agree with everything..." disclaimer that allows one to continue to straddle the lines as convenient, but I am personally tired of this shit. If you cannot be honest and fully candid about why you support your president, then I suggest that you simply keep quiet about supporting him.
And before you hit me with the "lol, you libtards are such snowflakes," let us not forget that we both have children and one of our kids will need attention beyond what either of our tax brackets might ever comfortably ever afford. Let us not forget that ONE of us supports a president hell bent on appointing staff who support the opposite of what the departments they head are about. To that end, health and human services is the most important. Let us not forget that apparently "grabbig bitches by the pussy" is no big deal to a father of a daughter, that apparently tweeting policy decisions to the horror of senior staff duty-bound to lie about it when business hours commence is okay, that bold-face LYING IN THE FACE OF COMMON FUCKING SENSE is cool as long as "Obama lied too," or "at least it ain't Hillary."
Basically, saying that political fuckedupptitude is more than okay as long as it is the kind that makes one feel better about their own political ideology is cool. I mean, as long as you can text a picture in front of Trump Tower to someone you think will see the joke hidden DEEP underneath said picture.
Fuck your president. He is not here for me, my child or anyone who looks like us. What is most funny is that he is not here for your child either, but because he IS here for people who look like you, you're missing it.

Remember when Obama was required to give up his personal cell phone?? Or when trump and his supporters screamed about HRC's server??
Oh, right. Double standard as always.
Trump ramps up personal cell phone use (https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/23/politics/donald-trump-cell-phone/index.html)
So now, the president is an actual security risk..........wow! The idea of trying to hide a convo with your own Chief of Staff, while now having detailed discussions over a seemingly unsecure airwave.........How incompetent and childish can one get??
Mary McCord, who used to head the Justice Department's national security division, says smartphones are notorious for their security vulnerabilities.
"Because the smartphones of high-level government officials -- including the President -- are obvious targets for foreign intelligence services, the government goes to significant effort to ensure that government-issued smartphones are constantly updated to address security vulnerabilities," she said. "Use of personal smartphones, which may not have all of the security features of government-issued smartphones or be regularly updated to address newly discovered vulnerabilities, present an obvious potential security risk."
The president better watch out........Obama may be in the microwave taking nudes of trump........(I sure as hell hope someone gets this reference hahahaha!)

The Fox & Friends phone interview this morning left me with a mixed of reaction of shock and great interest. He was quite unhinged IMO.
I'm looking forward to the legal ramifications that might come out of it. Prosecutors in SDNY are already planning to use some of his statements in their hearing today.

Eg: How can a person of God, be so adamant that someone who cheated on his current wife with a porn star (while his wife was pregnant), who he inevitably paid off, still be their man, then its 100% lost cause. Ad yet, they cannot see the hypocrisy. Unreal.

CNN, The View, Huffington Post, etc etc etc etc etc are all still going on about Russian collusion.... 1.5 years later as well. I've still yet to see anything really come of it.
I wasn't particularly a Trump fan/supporter. Still not. But I can't deny there's been some things he's done in office that I'm a fan of; some others, not so much.
Definitely would prefer him over HRC though. That bitch actually needs to disappear forever. She's the perfect example of everything that's wrong with the government in this country.
I'm honestly just getting tired of hearing people bitch and moan all the time. Most people are just angry because they've been told to be. They don't really have a clue wtf is going on.
People have become so polarized in their views. There used to be a spectrum when it came to political preferences. Far left, left-centered, centered, right-centered, far right etc. Now, so many people (of both "sides") have this "you're with us or against us" mentality. Pretty shitty, honestly.

Can I ask you this; what has HRC done to make you hate her so much?? And please cite your sources
Also, can you cite all the great things trump has done??
Serious questions and not trying to be divisive. I really do truly want to know why HRC is so hated and why trump gets your support. The last trump supporter I asked these questions decided to stop posting and never bothered to answer either of those questions and reverted to talking about an entirely unrelated topic.

First off; I said I wasn’t a trump supporter and didn’t vote for him, and am still not really a big fan. However, I’m not so blind to recognize that while I may not agree with a president in office on a lot of things, there are some actions that I may agree with. The same true with Obama; wasn’t really a fan, though over the 8 years he was in office, there were a few things he did that I liked... a few.
So if you’re going to ask questions in response to what I said, at least ensure that you’re recognizing what I actually said.
With HRC, the lies, corruption, hypocrisy, and divisiveness her actions/statements etc over the years have lead me to despise her. As far as I’m concerned, anybody who has made a career or massive ortune from politics needs to gtfo.

But can you elaborate on the above?? Can you elaborate on the lies, divisiveness, hypocrisy, etc?? Can you point me in proper cases where this is true?? Not saying she is not, but I would like ot see how someone who has come to loath HRC, how they came to that conclusion. As I asked, please cite your sources and reason to substantiate why you came to that conclusion.

There is no defensiveness. I’m simply saying that if you’re going to ask questions, ask the right question. What’s more, you immediately go and state, “you just lumped yourself into the trump supporter category”, which comes off as a derogatory comment in that context.
As far as cites and sources go for HRC and Trump, I will do so tonight as I’m about to leave for work now.

It will be difficult (IMO) to get that on most online forums. You might get a better idea from in-person interactions, but even then, thats hard to come by without someone getting heated or upset.
I think the hate for HRC stems from the actions she has taken over the decades, which were stepping outside of the social norms of what a woman was suppose to do. IMO it starts as far back as 1969 with her Wellesley commencement speech which put her on the national spotlight (more info (http://time.com/4359618/hillary-clinton-wellesley-commencement-transcript/)). Also she's rather cold, calculated and sometimes abrasive in her approach, which I completely understand, but this is outside the expectation that she is suppose to be. I can also see how people view her as lacking "emotion", "heart" or "compassion" for others, which further adds onto the hate.

I disagree with a lot of HRC's politics, she's much too conservative for my tastes.
But divisive is the last word I'd use to describe her, at least her directly. What's divisive is how she's portrayed in the media.
Also, the media is still investigating Russian collusion because where there is smoke stack's worth of smoke, there's probably fire. Totally normal for the president to fire the guy charged with investigating him.

This right here sums it up very well. Apply to same characteristics to a man, and he is calculated, beast and goal oriented. HRC broke a fair amount of glass ceilings in her time. I have seen her work through the Clinton foundation and at State Department and she is Very capable.
Now, do I agree with some of her social/personal characteristics?? Not necessarily. But to run a country and churn the economy, foreign policy and keep us in the positive and keep her hands off the big red button, she is stellar at doing this and her record shows.
It's tough to separate the two items however........in addition to "Go make me a sammmwich WOMAN!" mentality most people expect.
P.S Within hours of trump pulling us from the Nuclear deal, Israeli forces sent missiles and blew up a strategic compound in Iran. trump didn't read a single sentence, work or letter from the deal........And now, Iran is simply just going to side with the EU. So far the reporting I'm seeing says it's an Iranian compound in Syria (info (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44046049)). It's probably related to this: https://twitter.com/LizSly/status/993926228942970882
Either way, this is very troubling and could lead to multiple conflicts (economically, diplomatically and militarily) with other nations, even US allies.

Muslims from select countries for a finite period of time. Obama did this too.
Stricter immigration policies and more deportation. Obama did this too. In fact, not too long ago, Obama, Hillary, Schumer, and more were adamantly for stricter immigration.

My two questions still apply. Thanks for taking the time. It's just very difficult to get a straight answer from folks outside of Fox News talking points unfortunately :(
Sorry for the late response. Work has been chaotic. I actually had my response typed out, but I decided to cut it down a lot because I’m sure most wouldn’t read my full response. So, I’ll try and keep it brief. To be fair though, may arguments I see from others are nothing more than CNN, MSNBC, HuffPost, etc talking points.
But honestly, I don't watch Fox. Don't even have cable lol. Rarely even go to their site for news, because I can't stand Fox.
First, I didn’t vote for Trump. Reason being is because I don't think that he possessed the necessary qualities or attributes that I believe a presidential candidate should have. There are quite a few other candidates from the Republican party I would have preferred.
Second, I believe many people were just voting for who they believed to be the "lesser of two evils". Both candidates were severely flawed. The problem I see, from people of both sides is the hatred that is so easily spewed towards the other. I see so many people on the right immediately calling those with left leaning ideologies things like "libtards", "snowflakes" etc etc, while those on the left calling anybody with right leaning ideologies -especially those who supported Trump- "racist" "hateful" "bigot" "nazi" "white supremacist" etc etc. Neither is productive. Then both just turn around and call each other hypocrits lol.
I have friends/family on both sides of the aisle, politically and they're damned good people. Hard working, intelligent, honest, caring, and courteous. None of them want to see the world burn. Any reasonable citizen wants to see the country succeed and progress; the difference is what method we believe will get us there.
For myself, I believe our government is too corrupt, selfish, lazy, and incompetent, and are often incapable of handling their already given responsibility; thus, I’d prefer if we, as a people, didn’t give them any more. That being said, by political preference is more conservative/libertarian than liberal or progressive.
I only bring this up to be transparent with my political views. Now, onto HRC.
Few things I disliked. First, the “basket of deplorable” statement. Divisive, and goes back to what I said above. Are there shitty people who voted for Trump? Absolutely. Are there shitty people who voted for HRC? Absolutely. The vast majority though? Doubtful.
Next, the e-mail scandal. People will roll their eyes about this. I’m not hooked on this, however, my problem is the lack of accountability. The whole “there was no criminal intent” doesn’t stand with me. A sailor was jailed for taking a few photos of a classified area. HRC has an abundance of emails containing classified info on a private server and hardly even a slap on the wrist. The fact that she seems to be above the law is what irritates me. Regardless of who it is, I think people (especially in government) need to be held accountable for their actions.
https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/01/hillary-clinton-email-investigations-trump-justice-department-revives-motive-criminal-intent/
http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-comey-emails-1494374889-htmlstory.html
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/aug/20/us-navy-sailor-jailed-for-taking-photos-of-classified-areas-of-nuclear-submarine
Next is the topic of guns. I’m 100% pro 2A. Not a fan of the NRA or any of that nonsense. Though I do believe I have the right to defend myself and my family. HRC seems to have negative views towards the 2A and her proposed method of handling it have seemed to flip flop over the years. That being said, I’d rather not have her in a position which can impact the status of it. I can keep going, but I’ll stop there to keep it brief.
Now, with all of this in mind, I’ll say that Trump really isn’t any better. He’s severely flawed and has said some things much worse. Again, he wasn’t my first choice. Most people have a specific issue or set of issues which they find most important, and vote according to that. For some people, that’s health care issues, to others that’s income tax, to others that’s the 2A, etc etc. That being said, if I HAD to vote for one of the two on election day, I would’ve voted Trump simply because his campaign statements aligned more with what I found important to myself. My candidate didn’t make it passed the primaries though, so that’s that. I was also much more conservative during the elections, but have slowly drifted to being more libertarian.
That’s really it. I believe as though Hillary has obtained the status of being above the law and seems to be untouchable. I think she should be out of public service indefinitely. I hope that better candidates come along for 2020.
At the end of the day though, I think people should just be able to live their own life without the government or “offended” people interfering in everything.
So long as you’re an honest, respectful person who doesn’t have intent to harm me or my friends/family, you’re welcome over at my house any time. We can hang, have a couple drinks, work on cars, shoot the shit, eat some killer food, go to the shooting range, whatever. The instant you want to start insulting me or my family or show hostility/animosity simply because our religious or political views differ though, then you can get lost.

Too often Americans limit themselves to the "American" versions of liberal & conservative.
For American politics in the post 9/11 world, sure HRC/Obama are 'left of center,' but we're living in an ever more conservative country. Well, governmentally at minimum, even if socially traditionally liberal ideas are more popular than ever before.
Very few democrats are willing to fight for universal health care.
Very few democrats are willing to work to actually make housing, food or college more affordable.
Very few democrats would ever even consider proposing a basic income.
Very few (no?) democrats would ever consider nationalization of industry.
Very few democrats would ever campaign for an actual consolidation of our military.
Very few democrats would ever actually do anything to reduce our prison population (shout out to Philadelphia!)
And on, and on.

I think that's the issue with a lot of Americans/American voters/American politicians. We forget our place in history, we forget history, we fail to learn from it & always repeat its failures.
All of Trump's policies have been applied in the past, whether within the US or abroad. The results are known. The results are not pretty.

Any thoughts on Trump's sudden concern with saving jobs in China, days after the Chinese government approved $500M in loans for a Trump Organization project?
IMO, this move may have violated the Emoluments Clause. It also contradicts the "America First" objective.

To some it's been an on-going theory since 2016 (or earlier), that Russia has something on DJT. This summit (IMO) solidifies this even more that he's been compromised. Additionally, the solo meeting also puts the US in a compromising position with Russia. The US government is lost since no one, other than the translator, knows what was agreed upon with Russia. I wouldn't put it past Russia to have an audio recording of the meeting and quite possibly doctor the audio if needed.
I can only wonder what will be the breaking point to get his supporters to shift their opinion on his administration.

To some it's been an on-going theory since 2016 (or earlier), that Russia has something on DJT.
The recently court filings have given the public some more insight into this. The "Moscow Project" was being done in secret during the campaign. Sure you can say it's part of his private business, but during the campaign there was absolute denial ANYTHING was being done with Russia. Russia was also playing along with this denial the whole time, some might even call it a conspiracy. It's also not illegal to work with Russia, however, this deal would have involved a US sanctioned bank for funding...which is illegal for any US company to work with.
Had this information come out during the campaign, who knows what the impact would have been. It also gives more pause to why the administration was so quick to try to drop/ease sanctions on Russia soon after inauguration.
Tons of his close associates arrested.
Unprecedented turnover.
Unprecedented time off of 'work.'
A stagnant stock market (something a president doesn't normally have influence over, but his fans love to support his business 'merit').
Also the following is under criminal investigation either by Special Counsel Office, DOJ, NY AG or Manhattan DA :
The campaign
The transition team
The inauguration committee
Private business and charity foundation

That in and of itself should have raised PLENTY of red flags. When has the US been cozy withe KGB? But yet, you get folks like this below....

So GOP controls House, Senate and Presidency for 2 years, and here we are without a proper budget. The GOP can't even get their own president to sign off on a CR because it doesn't include the wall no one but trump want's built.
So shut the government down right before Christmas it is.
Yep, that is your president. Good work!
Oh and that de-nuclearization by NK that pompeo and trump touted and said all but done...........NK just shoved up two middle fingers and said "Effff youuuu!!!"
Then to piss of a portion of the bass, the trump admin passes a ban on bump stops
trumps charity is ordered to shut down due to allegation of him using funds for his personal benefit
And oh......the SS who are sworn to protect him, will work without pay if the government shuts down tomorrow while trump is vacationing in FL........because trump refuses to sign a CR (which I is some shit to begin with as still no legit budget)
Then you have Mueller hot on his heels with several more guilty verdicts. That is up to 33 or maybe more just the past 6 months.
And this all since Monday. It aint even Friday yet
Yep. What a dumpster fire.

Did you not see Jim Jordan last night?? Yeah, the GOP is well past entrenched and it is now a party of trump.
I feel no remorse for a single one of them. trump's track record should have already been a major red flag and yet, here we are.
The GOP has the house, senate and presidency, and the only thing they have done is
- Literally had every single adult in the room resign and throw up the bird. Current turnover rate is something on the order of 65%+ turnover which is orders of magnitude greater than any administration at this point in time. Worse so, something like 60-80% unfilled roles),
https://www.brookings.edu/research/tracking-turnover-in-the-trump-administration/
- Become Putin little bitch
- Screw trade relations,
- Fuck over instead of properly fix healthcare
- Gut the EPA. Black lung disease for folks in OH and PA who whole heartedly voted trump. There is a current savings portfolio which the .gov is suppose to replenish however it is $4B in depth and runs the risk of growing that even more because they were busy trying to fight off investigation after investigation to re-instate the fund
- Fuck over farmers and pretend to fix it by passing a bill that was already passed, ignoring the fact that farmers have ALWAYS been heavily subsidized by the .gov),
- The collusion investigation with over 33 guilty pleas,
- Have a temperamental SOC nomination, and still not pass a single fucking budget. The one job they have, to pass a budget and they couldn't even do that with control of EVERYTHING! This has been the most inept government in recent history
Yet, I repeat, you have folk (like the picture) stating they rather be a Russian than a democrat and still riding he dumpster fire.......or "butter emails!!"
Faux News is still running "Butter EMAILS!" headlines, 2+ years after she lost.
Yeah, let that sink in....
P.S Schumer is an idiot. And I think Pelosi, although a very capable speaker, needs to work from behind the curtain, and let a new face with no baggage be the face, so yeah. Still nothing like the raging dumbster fire scross the isle.

See lindsay graham......jim jordan.......Fully entrenched and embraced and willing to ride the flaming wreck all the way to end.
P.S At this point, even if the gop changes their tune, they are forever dead to me. Every single one of them that stood behind him is complicit. They knew EXACTLY what they were getting themselves and subsequently the people of the US into, and I refuse to accept they suddenly had a change of heart. Newt and his cronies have been at this for the better part of 2 decades. Shit like this doesn't happen overnight. The very same can be said for the the folks who supported trump willfully with his ridiculously checkered past and shitty rhetoric and a MASSIVE amount of evidence that the what we have now, is the exact outcome they expected because "butter her emails!" or "Owning dem libs son!" Those folks don't just have a change of heart overnight and just like Flynn, they are willing to sell out both their freedom and their own country, if it means it pisses off all the libs.......whatever the fuck that means.
You simply cannot support 1 or 2 of trumps rhetoric (border protection for example) without also supporting the entire flamming racist, masogynistic, incapable, inexperienced, collusion flaming pile. That's just not the way it works.

I just completed my retirement package for the Navy, and I can submit it as early as February. I never thought I would leave after completing 20 years when I have the ability to serve for 25. The chaos in the W.H. is the number one factor for my decision. I'm not alone, as a Career Counselor there are several retirement packages sitting on my desk. 2019 will be the start of a mass exodus for senior personnel in the Navy and many other Branches of service. The New Secretary of the Defense has no military service or political service before joining this administration.COD does not count! Anyone here with 18 years or more of service?
