I am not to savvy on the camera terms, but will be by the end of falll term (taking photo). My camera is too user friendly and doesn't allow much of any changes on exposure. It just has pre-set programs. Its an Olympus D-550 Zoom, I just used the night shot. It chooses its own exposure, but it sure as hell wasn't short.

On location, thats at the planetarium, but keep in mind its a tow zone there (its also a curb), and that sign on the right thats turned around says no parking... So I didn't really get a good chance at perfectly setting up the car. My car became possessed when the headlight fuse was in so I took it out.

Last summer I drove my SX with a complete stock SR (except HKS Stage 1 camshafts) but with a perfect environment. for example: large intercooler, free flow exhaust (with CAT), perfect fuel and ignition setup (E6K Haltech) with a HKS GT2540R turbo (exhaust A/R 0,86). The exhaust housing of this turbo was to big and I had a big lag and poor response.

This spring I planned to build up my SR to a reliable 2l engine with good response and higher power output.
So I put the best available parts on the market into my SR (JUN, HKS, Nismo, Greddy) with compression ratio 8.0:1,
controlled with an E6X Haltech.
The result of response is very good: 3500rpm - 20.5psi (still with CAT).
High power output wasn't that bad (31psi) but I had problems with the spark above 5500rpm. So I ordered better coils and 2 new spark plug sets but I can't start with a new RR session because I've no working gearbox available (my SR killed 2 gearboxes during the last 2 months!!). Now I'm waiting for a OS-Giken gearbox set and then I hope can finish my setup.

180SX S13 Nissans in Europe were only sold with CA18DETs - S14 Silvias only with SR20DETs. Some people also imported US models (KA24), but you can count them on one hand.
So the European 180SX and Silvias are turbo cars and with a few mods (IC, exhaust, fuel pump, FCD) the Europeans are able to run 15psi or more without any problems. Another big difference is, that a stock 180SX or Silvia need fueling called "Super" (95 Octane) and for modified cars you can take "Super 100" or "V-Power" (100 Octane). 100 Octane fuel is available on almost every gas station in Austria.


Do you have a built motor, what are you running for internals.

Since this spring I've the following internals:
balanced crank shaft
JUN pistons (87mm - 1mm oversize - 2048cc)
JUN connecting rods
Nismo main and rod bearing
HKS 2mm head gasket
HKS valve springs
JUN titanium valve retainer
HKS rocket arm stopper
HKS intake and exhaust camshafts Step 1 (256°)
optimized cylinder head

Last summer (2003) I was running my stock bottom SR with this GT2540R turbo with about 26psi (perfect fuel and ignition setup - Haltech E6K). Power output was 300kW (408HP) on flywheel. I reached this power with standard SR manifold and CAT.
This summer my SR is completely done and running with HKS GT-RS turbo at 31psi (fuel and ignition setup not finished - I'm waiting for my new OS-Giken gearbox parts).

Nah, I think it looks great. Who gives a fuck about super low offsets. People nowadays seem to hate everything that doesn't require you to stretch a 225 on a 10" wide wheel and pull the fenders.

I wanna see what version select vertex or Uras 180 looks like because I'll be buying that pretty soon. Why did you go with M-sports sides? Looks off to me. Too edgy and flat compared to vertex. Overall, the car looks great though.

actually the AIT fit pretty good for what it is, probably luck of the draw, i heard some people say it fit bad, but its not perfect (the bumper to the hood/feners aren't flush) but nobody really notice the it, and i used msports cause at the time AIT didn't make a rear bumper for the coupe yet, and a buddy of mine had the AIT sides so i didn't want to be the same

I was wondering if your front tires rub your wheel wells? Cause 225's used to rubbed pretty bad when i turned but after pounding in some of the wheel well, it fixed the problem.

Oh and i decided to measure my rims backspacing and found out that i have 18x8 +13 and 18x9 +16 not +23 all around.

I think i'm gonna get a vertex style rear bumper, AIT or version select. Shipping to HI is expensive so i might end up getting a vented carbon fiber hood too.

My bad dude. In hindsight a 215/40 probably would have been better. I think you'd be even more mad though if I had recommended something too skinny and caused you to bend a rim. Rubbing problems are a lot more easily remedied..

not too sure actually, haha, they might be eastbear, the seller said it was bomex style, but it looks more eastbear to me
225's are ok if you don't lower too much, but yah, yours looks pretty low, 215/35/18 works

Car Looks hot, but cant seem to find those wheels on the RO_ja site. Also are you 5 bolt because they say on the site they sell 18x10s in a +35 offset in a 4 bolt. And if I cant get em for a good price ill just get spacers and run em with my flairs. So let me know if your are just a custom offset.

Are you kidding... real Vertex... only if I didn't drive this car... or I was a straight baller with cash to throw away... I abuse the hell out of this s14... I'm ordering a few extra bumpers just in case!!!

Oh and if anyone is wondering about the version select stuff... it's really good quality for the price... fitment is primo... only knock is there is air bubbles in the gelcoat/frp... so when you sand down you will get holes here and there... you'll have to fill and fix... but my say... is great product for the price!

Just to correct you, I'm not a mod. This wasn't a topic that was made about racism so no I didn't bring it up for more people to see it. my dorito tires, 225/45/17s on a 17x10. for a bone stock ka with only bolt-ons and cooling mods and an open-diff, these things fucking slide. i went with michelin pilot sports due to decent grip and very very flexible sidewalls for stretching easier.

Thats the polyurethane Xenon lip. It's beautiful... in person it has the most bad ass look so I gave up the opportunity to get a drift bumper for the lip (plus it was about 50 bucks cheaper). The lip is discontinued... but you might be able to find some somewhere....

neither... I told you he needed suspension!!! I dont know why the thing sits so high its abnormal. I can damn near stick my foot in the gap. might be the pull on the fenders and the stock suspension.. maybe sitting on jack stands for so long stretched the stock springs out. either way looks like ass. he bought some cheap lowering springs for now he's gonna throw on till he decides on a serious suspension. we'll see how it looks then.

Why would he have to run shitty offsets. 215s are fine, 17x10s look a ton better than the 17x9s, sooner or later he is bound to have more power, and wider tires. No point in buying shitty wheels just cuz there is no power. The stretch also has better response than running 215s on an 8.

i guess i just had bad experience with 215's on my old 9"s, too little of traction. i like the good grip the 225s have but when broken loose its perfect. but to each his own. if you can do 60 degree angles on 215s, then more power to you. i totally understand your views on better response on the 215s. the swap from 235 to 225s in response measures was completely crazy.

This is your BIGGEST mistake. The first event I had was on open diff, started bad, but got a lot better by the end of the day, then a week later I had another event but with a 2-way, and all that time I spent on the dopen diff did nothing but let me get used to be sideways at certain speeds.

Everything you know now will completely change when you get a diff, its all wasted time and tire. You are better off learning with a diff first, than with coilovers and no diff.

Transitioning on an open diff is annoyingly hard, and thats because of the unpredicatability of which wheel will spin. Shocks and springs with a 2way is a great setup to learn on. 2 way will in no way make you perfect, its is more of a requirement than a perfection mod, there really arent any perfection mods other than seat time.

i think the car looks very sexy and original. theres really not that many black silvia conversions in usa anyways.

its a daily driver/ drift car/ road corse car/ drag car/ hot azn girl picker upper. Its a great car to drive, lots of fun.

so far ive added greddy oil pan, short shift kit and sway bars to it. Tein tension and tie rods/ends are in the mail. it will prob end up with a cage and i will pro drift it or soemthing.

yeah spoon sticker..hah ..not the first time i've gotten that. its actually a Sportcar Motion sticker... (www.sportcarmotion.com ) i work as a mechanic there so gotta represent the shop.
ordered some custom offset wheels ... should be getting some good fitment soon and then i'll post those pics. as you can see i am not showing my rear wheels.... :) u dont wanna see them. decent looking rim just bad offset, but all i have for now till my new wheels come in.

i think i like both the green and black colors. both give a diff feel to the car. looks more agressive with the black paint.

Everyone always hates on Bomex cause they're mainstream but when you look at all the cars on this forum your prob the only one w/ that bumper. I have the other Bomex bumper w/ the fogs...pic below.

@> Dunkee...Thanks...Yea, folks do hate on Bomex, the thing is, I really do not like the "drifter" body kits....I think they look kinda funny if your car is not set-up right. The bOmex kits are not that way...And to be honest I really do not like some of the Bomex Kits (especially the ones with all the vents), but do like mine and yours (I almost bought the one with the fogs). Looks as though you installed it right...Right On!

One thing you are right about, Yours and mine are the only two 240's I have seen with these particular bumpers...Who says you can't be mainstream and original!!

Look US OEM to me...they're just brand new or maintained very well. The blueish tint might be the lighting.
