Upgrading parts. MANY QUESTIONS!!!

So I am upgrading my turbo setup. Many questions.

Its a sr20det blacktop. Its been sitting in the garage for 10 months or so.

Plan before starting it.

1. Change oil.
2. Check tubes.
3. Check the rest of the fluids.
4. Turn off fuel pump and let it crank before powering fuel pump(More questions about starting below)


Before.
Stock sr20det, boosted at 14 psi

Now Upgrades
Peak boost manifold
DW 650 injectors
Power Fc
z32 maf
Tial 38 mm wastegate
Dousans old turbo




Questions.

1.Since my car has been sitting for 10 months.
a.What else should I do before I start it?
b. Any thing I should check, double check and check again before starting?

2.Will it start?
a.Since I upgraded with all different parts, will it even start?
b.Will the power fc need anything to run a rough idle?

3.Torque specs.(I have s13 sr20det)
a.I have a FSM for a s14 sr20det, is it the same?
b.It says 27-35 ft/lbs torqe for manifold. Is that too much or too little?

4.Oil line on sr20det s13 wise. I thought it was the line off the back of the block. Which one is it?

5.My peak boost manifold wont let me use all of my old washers off my stock cast manifold. Should I change all of them over to lock washers? (Lock washers will fit all the studs)(some of the welds hug the studs)

6.Blocking up coolant lines.
a.Block plugs?
b. will shorter bolts with thread sealer(like thread tape but goopy shit form work?)

Prime the Oil System By Cranking it (Not Starting)


b. Any thing I should check, double check and check again before starting?


All Hoses, Vacuum Lines, sensors, connectons, Fulid levels





2.Will it start?
a.Since I upgraded with all different parts, will it even start?


With currnet upgrades IE: Z32 Maf and 650 Injectors
MAYBE, IF the PFC is not tuned/set up, for what is installed it will run crappy/ pig rich, if it runs at all. YOU NEED A TUNE

if you had stock ECU/ Injectors it would run after a start up or two, and it will run crappy for a bit until all the crap that its collected burns off inside

NOTICE: Do not freak out if you see smoke comming off the manifold, its just all the oil burring off the top of it from you touching it with your greasy little hands

*Check for leaks when idleing*



b.Will the power fc need anything to run a rough idle?


You need to initalize the PFC Per Instructions but you also have to dial in your set up IE: Z32 MAF, Injectors & Lag time


3.Torque specs.(I have s13 sr20det)

Yes


b.It says 27-35 ft/lbs torqe for manifold. Is that too much or too little?


If thats what the FSM says then yes, The FSM never Lies,
But Ive always used the German Tourqe Spec "Good en Tight" :P


4.Oil line on sr20det s13 wise. I thought it was the line off the back of the block. Which one is it?


For Turbo? Line on Back of block is Coolant
the oil feed is the smaller one of the two bolts (cant remember location right now)
BE SURE YOU ARE RUNNING AN OIL RESTRICTOR, so you dont blow the seals on your turbo

6.Blocking up coolant lines.

If the turbo is able to run coolant line I would advise running coolant line to prolong the life of the turbo, and to keep oil from getting cooked inside the bearing and causing Turbo Failure


a.Block plugs?

If the Turbo doesnt require Coolant then yes you can just plug the feed and return.

b. will shorter bolts with thread sealer(like thread tape but goopy shit form work?)
Teflon tape will be fine for the coolant
