vis 25mm rear over fender install gone wrong?

vis 25mm rear over fender
they only make 25mm & 50mm
Carbon Fiber Hood, Trunk, Hatch, Body Kits Megastore - Vis Racing Sports Inc.

but why does the passenger side look bigger then driver side?
I used:
-SEM multi-purpose panel adhesive
-rivets just to hold the panel to stick to metal n cure for 24hrs

look at the pics tell me wat u guys think?
passenger side

driver side

EDIT:the fenders are on now.
just to finish off this thread.
finished wet sand and guide coat
everything is straight no low or hight spots
so smooth!

i have kouki aero so it will just go over the bottom sections

anyone have questions on how to ill be glad to help out.

bad pictures, cant really see the difference in details, but maybe you bowed one of the fenders a little and one looks wider than the other...

Ya, you probably just bowed one. Pretty fucking useless to fit the fenders without proper fitting wheels on. What did you use as a guide when mounting? Just line up and rivet on?

Wheels first.

Then fenders.

No one ever gets that right.

You don't get it.

He means having the proper fitting wheels first(aka sticking way past stock fenders for you to need overfenders.)

Both of them would be sticking out evenly if your desired alignment is set.

THEN install overfenders and play with the overfender fitment to be as flush as possible with the wheel fitment. That way, both are bowed or fitted to be the same size on both sides.

You'd be a dumbass to paint your car with expensive wheels on it.(That's what rollers are for).

Hey bro...its me David.. Im getting ready to the same to my car.... Ive done a few bodykits but no widebodys yet. I do know the heat and how long they have been sitting at the warehouse make a big difference.

The rear of this kit was actually 3 inches wider on one side...I had to heat it to get it to fit right.

yes i do have the proper wheels.
and proper offset for 25mm overfender with a good camber to set them in.
and my car is slammed

as you can see in my signature.

Im doing BODY work so i raised the car and put my stock SE wheels.
raised it so i can get paint under the wheels wells
and stock wheels so i dont get over spray on my good wheels

im just asking if one side looks bigger then the other thats all.
thanks

I had bought some over fenders from VIS around a year ago and they were packaged up and everything. Installed them and same thing as you. One was a 30mm and one was a 50mm. Took about 2 months of driving around with one over fender until they gave me another one. Also we recently put some over fenders on "TheSquidds" new car that were also purchased through VIS. Same thing happened with him and the opposite side was the 50mm. Weird. It is not Sonic Motors fault. If anything VIS is slacking on that packaging.

thanks for the info
yeah thats prob what happend to me ahh...

i talked to sonic motors already they just said maybe i installed them wrong??
they also said they want to take a look at it. so i might roll threw 2morow.

hopefully they can replace the fender without taking to long

kinda sucks that the fenders are glued on. so much work to line up and put these on and i might have to grind them off.

maybe it was in storage to long and made one side smaller then the other.
idont think i can heat it. if i did it will get worse and maybe crack

No, I'm right.

Put your good fitting wheels on with your coils set at the ride height you drive at. THEN fit the fenders TO THE WHEELS. Once you see everything fits right, raise it back up and put the stock wheels on for paint.

I wasn't being a smart ass.

Although like socals130 said you might have two different fenders. So.... when(if) you get your new fenders install the way I recommended. It will make for better fitment.

Good luck.

you can evenly spread that epoxy threw the metal try to cover wat you can.

clecos was used to line up the fender in place.

and rivets are temporary just to sandwich the epoxy to metal and fiberglassl untill it cures for 24hrs then they come off.

these are goign to be molded in so they wont be no rust.
this epoxy only bites into metal or fiberglass and it used on panels like on what im doing.
heres a short video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZc7qvwPycE

im using evercoat fiber tech filler to mold these in
and finishing it off with evercoat everglass short strand
maybe even a small coat of SEM Finishing Glaze on top

it should come out smooth these fillers are strong and flexible onced cured.

so i called sonich motors again they said yes they have been having that problem with VIS packaging the wrong fenders sizes.
they are going to try to replace the fenders for me and get the right size.
so i need to grind these overfenders off and put the right size fenders on all over again...

just maybe just 8 or ten rivets on perside if your not going to mold them in.

not when you use that epoxy all pressure has to be evenly on all sides.
and i used smallest rivets 1/8 so it will be easier to cover up.

I don't know...

Apparently he needs a water tight seal or something so he uses some sort of glue + 40 rivets.

some people just dont get it tsk tsk. your prob stuck on typical internet diy overfender threads.
this is the correct way to attach fiberglass to quater panels if your planning on molding the overfenders
