yes on the gun but i would get the starting line becuase i highly doubt u need the stain less internals for waterborne paint. Great gun thought btu for the same price u an get a a primer gun/touch up gun/ bc/cc gun. Unless u plan on painting more cars in the future i get the starting line kit. I'm not too big of a fan on those cups. They discolor and over time when using them for bc/cc.
with the touch up gun u can use it for jambing and tight areas. Believe u will need it. as for the water separator/oil seperator it will work just make sure to check/replace them often and drain ur compressor alot since its very humid in this time of the year. Quote:

My apt. parking lot sadly does not permit me to do this. I can hardly spray pieces w/o it getting on other cars. I need a garage:/
Good thread. I would be all over this if so.

yokota i like how your car came out.
this pic is from yesterday i woulda had it sprayed back in march but then my financial situation changed and was no longer a priority. i got a 21 gal air compressor and a gal of some plc poly primer, i feel like blasting it one of these days to get it a solid grey base.. Money is tight right now, i cant really look at considering painting right now, my friend wants to spray it too. but I also want to take my time to spray it.... sadly i may raise it up a lil bit, i cracked my other fender comin out of my driveway this morning *im fixing it now* really discourages me from leaving my house having to deal with it lol I freaking love the look esp with the fiberglass fenders, its just hard to come to the idea of changing it away from what it was set at. I should have blasted this a few months ago when i still had some money.. even now would be a good time since im unemployed.. I just cant spare a few bucks right now for this.

bump this awesome thread
i bought this HF gun on the right thinking i was gonna use it, but i still have access to my friends matco silver eagle hvlp gun so i just grabbed it from him today the HF gun has a 1.4mm nozzle, and the silver eagle has 1.3mm nozzle.. Ill use the HF gun to spray primer, think the nozzle is too small for primer? I need to throw some primer on some bare metal on my car. Ill need to pick up some new primer because the stuff i had I sad on it for 3 years and didnt realize it has a shelf life, any one got some recommendations? I also got a gallon of single stage white im gonna hit it with. Im no longer employed so figured i could knock this out b4 i get serious again with work.

This thread has just inspired me to get a compressor/separator setup so I can spray my own shit instead of getting ripped by local body shops! I've got my own garage now so I can throw down!!!
I'm gonna get the same compressor my dad just got, it's a bad [email protected]#%^& and it's not tooo bad $$$ wise. HyperTek, Sweeet FC man! I love those cars, I miss mine!! |

If you're sanding to bare metal you could go like how I went, epoxy primer, then 2k high build over that and then paint and clear. I'm currently finishing up my car, I bought myself a Devilbiss Finish Line kit and I love this thing. I used the HF gun in attempts to just shoot the primer with it but it ended up shooting like crap halfway through the hood so I junked it and just used my Devilbiss. Rattle Canning is junk, I'm so glad I did more work and went this route. May not be professional work but it still didn't come out that bad. |

nice, well im hopping to get away with just getting 1 primer since again im on a no job budget lol. its just partial area thats bare metal because prior owner decided to do it like that. more of a hassle down the road instead of actually looking cool
