i have a 93 240sx and a few days ago i noticed that when i gave the car gas the rpm's would go up but the car wouldnt go any faster. i dont have a check engine light on at all and today when driving when the car warmed up it just lost all power. ive read that it could be the egr valve or just a vacuum leak but i dont even know where to start. does anyone have any clue what and where i should start?

the car is stock with 5speed and very well taken care, it has a new clutch, it ran just fine before this. it only does it when the car is cold. what other info might you need?

Really does sound like a slipping clutch. Are you losing any trans oil? Maybe trans oil seal is leaking onto the clutch. Does it rev normally in neutral?

Well if it's leaking bad enough to slip the clutch you should see some dripping. Jack up the car and underneath the trans where it bolts to the engine there is a small hole. See if anything is seeping out.

What kind of clutch do you have?

It's a stock clutch and was put in less then a month ago. If it's leaking trans oil what can I do to stop it and is it something easy enough to so in an evening as I'm ready to take it to a shop in the morning to have it done, I'd just rather do it myself.

You have to pull the trans to replace the seal.

From all mentioned above does that sound like what might be the problem I'm having? Also I've never pulled an tranny on one of these, is it something that is easily done?
