hey guys, I need your help. I've been thinking of the best route for my sr20 redtop and I settled with this set up:
PeakBoost SR20DET topmount manifold
PeakBoost 3" stainless SR20DET downpipe
PeakBoost stainless steel 38mm dumptube
Garrett T3/TO4E Turbocharger
TiAL 44mm wastegate
tomei 740cc injectors
walboro 25lph fuel pump
sard adjustable FPR
A'pexi power FC
FMIC
custom 3inch mandrel bent exhaust w/cat
stock head, stock buttom end
Is my 340-370 hp goal achievable? What are the pros and cons on this set up? Im going stock head and buttom for now cause of the money issue. Tnx!:wiggle:
Soooo you can afford all this shit but not ARP Head Studs and a Quality
Head Gasket????
Good luck on that set up, You'll blow the H/G as that turbo hits full spool
Not try to be a dick, but you really need to Search. This shits been covered countless times

Im a noob on sr and I woudn't come up with this list if I did't search on 3 240 forums. No not at all, i see it as a good suggestion. Head gasket and studs it is as soon as i get the money and guts to mess with sr20s..

Guts as in you have not messed with these engines before? IMO your gonna need cams to reach your power goals. My main question is why would you do all this work and leave the motor alone?? Your missing out on easy HP with simple add-ons. If your dropping all the dough on the Peakboost kit you should probably just wait until you tear apart the motor and fix everything now. Have you done a comp/leak down test? I would suggest like others a new HG and ARP studs, besides the cams. Also an intake manifold will make your goals much easier.
And if you wanted Pros and Cons...
Pro - Peakboost makes AWESOME products and warranty them accordingly. They also have excellent customer service and will even help you over the phone.
Cons - Mad $$$ for what you get. This as a kit is something that an individual could peice together for considerably less. Personally I don't care for T3/T04 turbos.

If 340-370 is your goal...why dont you just save the dough, and get a GT2871R .86 trim? You can hit those numbers with the 740cc, PFC and HKS Actuator. You get to reuse most of the stuff you already have.

Some peeps made that w/ the .64 housing, which will spool up quicker than the .86 housing version.

Good point, but Ill be more satisfied blowing the engine reaching my goal than blowing it becaus I have no idea what I was doing. lol

Because you'd have to sacrifice some mid range punch by giving up some spool.
But if you've got a 8k+ rpm motor, then 850cc's, GReddy intake mani, and 270 or 272 cams + 2871R .86 A/R would pretty much melt faces.

incorrect, i have know of a few STOCK SR20dets with just headgasket and headstuds put down 460whp on C16 with a GT30 and another with a T04E put down 380whp on pump gas.
min ewill be out later this year stock internals putting down similar #'s on a T04e

I KNOW those numbers are attainable, not for everybody though. And if your putting down 380whp with no internal mods then your just retarded because your missing out on serious power by just spending a few coins. Not to mention I don't know the OP's original intentions but im sure its not running c16 and boosting 20psi.

ewww fuck a "T" turbo.
GT2871R for that power range it will spool 10 times faster. get a ported compressor housing and an external wastegate vband turbine housing.
