I am Looking hard into this option, but I am not sure it is possible. Can you twin turbo a s13. I belive this crap with the engine swap is bull, yea swap the engine gain 50hp, or put a n-sport turbo on the ka24d and gain 90-110. At any rate let me know if you think twin turbo is possible.

Why would you twin turbo a I-4?  A single turbo would have more potential, unless you use a staged system somehow...which would be pretty complicated.  The only reason your limited to 90-100hp increase on the KA is because the internals can't take any more...a TT would still be limited by that.  Rebuild the engine and you can just up the boost of a single turbo.

it would be sequential turbo..... not technically twin and thats the setup the tt supra runs... i beleive, and ppl opt for a single turbo setup that works more efficiently than the twin....... less spooling time for the turbo... so tt ka is not a good idea in my opinion, and adding 50 horsepower...... thats alot, at any rate..... poppinf a kit would do wonders and im pretty sure u'd be more then happy with a single turbo set-up

anything is possible with enough $$$$.  A single is more than enough for an I-4.

actually with the two exhaust coming outta the rear like a V6 u can do that with any car...jsut go to your local Muffler/Exhaust shop and they'll weld you one together...but that isn't such a good idea because of all that backpressure theory.....

You could swap a 300ZX TT engine into a 240sx.  One was going on eBay like 3 weeks ago for 23k.

I think Trigge need to do some research.  I know it's cooler to say twin turbo then, just turbo, but seriously.  I've been seeing guys with formerly TT 300's and rx-7's going to the single turbo setup.

I would personally buy an s14 KA24DE and put and turbo it, for my s13.

but there's still only one manifold...it just splits into two pipe afterwards.

and not to belittle Trigge, but I think konkman hit the nail right on the head.

ack, no need to be rude people. . . Lighten up and shrink your pic, Dragon

A typical twin turbo is when you have two banks of pistons, in a Vx engine. You have one turbine mounted for each row. Inline engince, like the Skyline 6 cyl, and just about all four cyls, you only have one row of pistons, so two turbos would have to be one mounted in front of the other sequentially (as Konkman said). This would be a much costlier setup without much gain in performance. Focus on a larger single turbo, unless of course you're wealthy beyond all belief and want to do something different. . .

He had an idea. Maybe he's not as well car-educated as some of us are, but let's not give him a hard time. He's probably a youngster (remember NismoTom and &quot;S13Grl, hot or not&quot; topic? Yeah...)
Anyway; you can probably swap a Z engine and tranny (heard of this being done, lots of $$$) but that's completely different from what the newbie is saying. So, newbie, sorry we were so harsh on ya, but it's #### ridiculous to do a tt on an I4.

(Konkman, you need to get laid or chill out. Or both.)

Twin turboing an I-4 is not worth it, Smallers turbo's are less efficiant, and to twin turbo a small displacement 4 cylinder would require some pretty small turbo's, rather than a large more efficient turbo. It's all about physics. Best of both worlds is the setup where one turbo has two inlets going into the turbine, to split the exhaust pulses, it was in SCC's look at fast import drag cars engines, I forgot what that's called though. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

the reason why they made twin turbos (300ZX at least) in the first place is to lessen the lag, more turbos do not equal more power, it means less lag. when you switch to a single turbo, you get more lag, but more power. sometimes so much lag like on the supras, they need nitrous to spool up (making 1000 hp at the wheels though). with the 240sx's weight and gearing, a twin turbo setup wouldn't benifit, because you'd go through the lag quicker than usual. &nbsp;if i'm wrong on any of this, correct me, i'm here to learn too.

i don't know of any street TTZ that are single turbo.

the pic the dragon posted is only 37k. that's not that big at all. dial up should be able to handle that just fine.

Yeah, ditto what HaloZ said, where would you put a single turbo for two banks? TT Supras and Skylines, yeah cause they're inline, but a single turbo for a V6, naw, but thats just my opinion. And if you really wanted to twin turbo a inline 4, go ahead, its just gonna be lots of $$$. Apex-i did it with their integra. So if you really wanted to.....

well, i didn't want to make it sound like i was talking specificly about Z (you own a Z so that's probably why it seemed that way) but the first example i gave about why there are twin turbos, i just made an example of the Z. i didn't mean to go on about single turboing a Z.
