Exclamation Engine Swap Help in NNJ(Bergen County)

i just saved up enough money for my engine swap(KA to a SR) and i have a few questions before i actually buy it. ( i just bought my 240 so i am a noob so please bear with me)

to do a complete engine swap, after i buy the motor am i going to need to buy a full exhaust system? from headers to muffler?? and am i also going to need to buy a radiator and other components??

please help me with any important information i would need to know. i just want to have an idea of how much money im looking to spend to complete this swap.

and if anyone knows any good shops in Northern Jersey or PA please let me know..

i could also use some websites with more 240 parts for sale so please please please help me out people. i would really appreciate it thanx

basic stuff you need (taken from the P2M website):

NGK #7 iridium spark plugs
New valve cover and spark plug cover seals
New exhaust gasksets: Exhaust manifold, turbo inlet and turbo outlet gaskets
New radiator hoses (top and bottom)
New drive belts (AC, P/S and Alternator)
New Clutch kit + rear main seal
Check oil pan for any sign of dent, replace if can't be fixed. If a pan is dented severly, take off the pan to inspect the oil strainer for damage. Replace if needed.
Upgraded fuel pump
New Oil and Fuel filter
Short shifter kit + new shift knob
New radiator and fan setup if customer bought motor set instead of front clip that does not have stock radiator/fan-shroud setup
FMIC setup if customer bought motor set instead of front clip that does not have stock mounted intercooler setup.
Upgrade turbo elbow, 3" downpipe, High-flow exhaust with 3" Catco high flow cat or 3" test pipe is recommended but not mandatory depending on end users budget.

The above is the BARE MINIMUM that we recommend everyone to do with installation of the SR20 motor. For the hands of the experienced, you can surely do alot more but we usually advise our customer to get the motor running in tip top condition that is problem free before adding a bunch of power mods that will make things harder to diagnose when motor is not running correctly.

wow thats a lot. i thought a basic tune up and the radiator, exhaust, would of had the car running no problem. but i completely understand that all the stuff u mentioned is necessary.

since im swapping an automatic 240 im assuming a manual ecu is also goning to be necessary too right? within all the parts you just mention i can def afford to take care most of the parts but i think im gonna stick with the stock valve cover, clutch, exhaust manifold, and drive belts for the moment.....its gonna be my daily driver so i just want the car running with no problems with the basic parts for now....power modds will deff come later one last question wat motor oil should i use for my new baby????

My suggestion is to take it to slidewayz in Palisades Park or just ask them questions whenever you need help. They've done enough swaps that they can do it blindfolded. They also know the pros and cons of changing or not changing things for your swap. Their mantra is really racer on a budget.. so If you're on a budget, and you want to make this a daily car as well as a fun car... I think they can definitely either help you with labor or with guidance.
