Z32 shifter striker rod removal
I have searched with no luck, so I apologize if this has been posted before.
I have a S13, with RB26 swap and Z32 TT manual trans. I need to shorten the shifter bracket and ?striker rod?, also replace the dust boot on the back of the trans. Is the striker rod removable? or is it permanently attached to the trans? I have to shorten both and it would make the job easier if the striker rod can be removed. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the info. I work in a welding shop, so gonna look into fabricating this myself. I was interested in removing the striker rod to modify it. Finally found the info.
Remove the 6 10mm bolts on the cover on top of trans. There is a pin inside a pin, need to remove both at the same time, but don't tap them out into the trans. Use a shop towel to put under the pins to catch them. After the pins are out slide the striker rod out the rear of the trans. Last edited by WrongSide; 11-20-2016 at 05:27 PM..
