i'm talking about the plate that you install AFTER you install the oil strainer (sr20)...its got a few openings and sits directly above the oil pan. Is that necessary? i just got my oil pan in (isis) and it seems the only way it will fit is with the removal of that plate...i checked with a fellow isis oil pan owner and the removal of that plate was the only way he could get his to fit as well. i'm assuming it prevents the majority of your oil from splashing up into the block during hard g's or something along those lines...i'm just on the fence of returning this pan and running a stock one. or just keeping it if that plate is kind of un important

if the only way it will fit is romoving it and your freind hasnt had any issues with his go for it... get creative if you only have to cut a little off to make it fit go for it...

yeah i thought about it and i'm going to send it back. i looked into it and that plate is what keeps all the oil from splashing out of the pan. if i pop of track or it a big bump or something and oil the oil shoots out of the pan then i'm running dry. even if only for a second or so. i just got done cleaning/banging out the stock one and will rock that. i'm trying to get ahold of enjuku so i can get a return lable and send this pos back.

Its called a BAFFLE, and if you send that oilpan back over a baffle you are a jackass, the oil pan has those little doors that bolt on the inside of it to keep oil around the oil pickup, greddy, moroso, arc, isis all have the same thing in them...

P.S. if you think that isis oilpan is a pos why did you buy it in the first place and not get a hight quality one, i have about 4 freinds running F-reddy pans and they have been fine...

Yeah the magnetic baffles are in place but that tray didnt fit in there...

yeah they have SIDE baffles...to keep the oil from sloshing BUT if the main baffle is gone...the oil will just slosh UP and away from the pickup...not to mention under hard acceleration/decel i'm sure the oil will slosh up. yes ALL the aftermarket pans have side baffels but none of the other ones will tell you to remove the main baffle. so yeah i guess i'm a jackass because i want my oil in my oil pan...

That keeps oil in the pan when you go around corners or hit bumps. You need it.

Greddy Style pans seem to have this issue a lot as when you copy something that is cast the part shrinks every time you copy the mold.

Send it back or shave the oil pan.

Lol, can you just get a dremel tool and cut grind down the parts that dont fit? or can you just take a cut off tool and cut the sides off that baffle?

i thought it wasnt needed because the new oil pan had side baffles lol? who cares if it fits...i should just take it out and choose my $100 oil pan over an essential part of the engine...i mean, i wouldnt want to be a jackass or anything

I ment if you want to really keep it you can cut the sides off it and still have it bolted on, imho the added oil with that pan will make it safe to run that pan without it...there is also a baffle above that one 2...

I'm not an engineer, so I'll trust Nissan and suggest to make the part fit. Amongst other things, it's in place to help prevent frothing from the crank slinging everything around in the crank case.

I had this problem with a godspeed pan,knew it wasn't right.Sold pan and got a moroso pan and it solved all the problems.Baffle fits with no trimming at all.Just my 2 cents
