q45 front and rear calipers, worth it?
Hello zilvia members.
I am at a standstill here with what to do about these calipers.. The stock ones on my car are all but shot at this point so I was about to order up a new stock set when I discovered the q45 phenomenon. So I can get better calipers in the front for about the same price. I'm sold. (was going to get new rotors/pads of course) Now the grey area for me is.. can I or rather should I put q45 calipers on the rear? It would make the logistics of ordering pads/rotors much easier but while I found good documentation on replacing the fronts, the rear is a mystery. 1996 240sx se, 5lug stock rims. |

The Definitive 300ZX Brake Swap Paqe This should help. I'm pretty sure Z32 brakes are the same as Q45 brakes, so everything would be the same. You just need R33 e-brake cables, and it is also recommended that you get a new master cylinder too, but not required. I think it's worth it, especially for drifting, since you will have a better e-brake.

Search................................this has been asked and answered millions of time. But ill enlighten you. do the fronts with a Z32 master cylinder and youll be fine but you will have a biasis to the front because of the dual pot calipers. most leave the rears stock but if you dont want a biasis ( depending on what you use your car for) get the rears also.

I apologize jlawdet, like I said I was unable to find an answer to the rear q45's. If it requires taking apart the whole rear suspension like the quide jlawdet posted suggests, then I think i'll just get the fronts for now. Thank you both.

Just do this for the rear: http://zilvia.net/f/archive-faqs/291...-calipers.html
Same size rotor as the Q45 but it allows you to keep the stock caliper so there's no need for the drum ebrake. |
