Just did a test fit as I was quite curious to see how it sits on the engine. Looks pretty sexy.

I just chucked this on the scale, it weighs 6kg. Niice.

Also, a decision has been made to rip the sump off again and tig up the baffles a little more. I've been told of someone having problems of the bafflestacks snappng and oil surging. No harm fixing it up now, than waiting for something to fuck up later.

Ordered a Nismo Reinforced Clutch Pivot through RHDJapan, as it was on clearance and worked out to be a hell-of-a-lot cheaper than if it was ordered through Taark. It wasn't a necessity, but I had been thinking about getting one. I think it was a wise decision.

Got around to grinding away all the coating underneath the tubs/wheel arches today, so I can finally put the new stone chip coating on. Took a good while, and I got pretty damn dusty whilst doing so. I've got it to the point where it's been degresed and sprayed in the appropriate spots with Penetrol to reduce any of the surface rusting that had occured.

The Penetrol was also sprayed on top of the tubs as well, but beforehand, I grinded down the welds so bogging over them would be a little easier, and would make for a nicer/smoother finish.

This was all on the drivers side, as it's probably better to do one side at a time.

The stone chip coating will be applied tomorrow, which would've given the Penetrol enough time for it to do its thing.

After I knocked off work earlier today, it gave me a chance to finish up my efforts on the driver side wheel arch.

It took me a good hour slowly masking up the area that I was about to spray the Anti-Gravel all over. Considering the stuff is quite heavy duty, I really didn't want any overspray. This is what I ended up with:

Was quite nervous about the initial spray, as I haven't done this kind of stuff before. Turned out to be pretty easy, although I did get caried away and didn't realise how much of the stuff I had actually used. You'll notice a blotchy spot right in the middle, that's where I was attemtping to cover welds. It would've looked a lot better if I hadn't ran out of the juice. Still quite pleased with my efforts, but I'm quite confident that the passenger side will look even better once done.

It's OEM, I swear.

I was thinking about doing bed liner to my car also. But I figured it would add a bunch of weight. It looks good though.

Honestly mate, this stuff weighs bugger all, and will help reduce any damage/rust occuring. It's really a good idea if you've made modifications like myself (eg; tubs), otherwise keep the stock stuff. Just my opinion.

"Permanent features" are definitely the right words for it. The amount of "permanent features" that I have laying around and still in boxes, is ridiculous. They're all waiting on other things to be done before they can be put into place.

Purchased a new angle grinder today, as the other is too small to grind in tight edges. Sizeable difference.

Grinded all this shit away in no time at all compared to the drivers side. Will be coating it in the good stuff tomorrow.

Coated the passenger wheel arch last night, but just waited til today when it was dry to take pics. The gun spat shit on there towards the end, so it looks a little messy. Got a good thick coat on it overall, so still happy with the outcome.

Today is the day that I've waited too long for...

What came in the mail today consisted of:

- Garrett GTX3076R
- T3 Twin Scrolled 1.06 A/R Rear Housing
- 2x TiAL MVS 38mm Gates

Photos arn't the best, I was too excited.

All this will probably collect dust until I get money to order a clutch, which will allow me to chuck the engine back into bay.

I also ordered some other goodies which will probably get here next week.

Haha, cheers dude! Seriously can't wait to be able to hear those gates scream.

Also, looks like my choice of an ORC 409 Super Single Clutch is a no go, because it can't handle the power I'm expecting, so looks like I'm going to have to purchase a twin plate clutch.

Nothing against twin plate clutches, just the fact that I'll probably blow my SR box up, will be the downside.

With some time off uni/work, I've been able to continue with fracking around with the tubs. I sorted out the bog on the drivers side a little more.

Once I cleaned up the bog, I wanted to apply a little more to get a better finish, and figured I'd start boggind the passenger side as well. So I grinded down the welds.

I applied some of this...

And now I can't do anything til tomorrow. I completely forget that the stuff has to be left for 24hrs, so I fracked around with the turbo to see how it looks sitting on the block.

It's meant to be.

Dat ass!

Today was somewhat of a productive day. I continued with bogging the passenger tub and cleaning up the drivers side tub as well. Once I had finished sanding back the bog, I started sanding down the rest of the engine bay.

Bog all cleaned up:

Prepped and ready for primer:

Painted:

I must admit, the bog job is a bit of a bodge job, but in all honesty, it's better than the factories attempt at applying seam sealer neatly. The heater and A/C holes still need to be welded up, but it's not too difficult to sand back the metal for welding.

Personally, i like the look of the raw welds painted, but what you've done here doesn't look bad at all man, and when it's all painted with all the gear in there, it'll be unnoticeable.

Keep up the good work!

Don't get me wrong, I love the raw look, but the welds werent the most appealing, my mate who did them agreed. Also, bogging over them made it look a lot more like the tubs were meant to be, and will potentially go unnoticed by the piggy's.

Once the engine bay is painted, other progress should be strong, just taking advantage of my week off uni.
