even with electronic gauges there should be a sensor for oil temp/pressure.. unless it taps into the stock one which isnt as accurate

an electrical oil pressure gauge should come with a sending unit. But if it didn't find the place you got it from and they should have sending unit kits for that gauge.

on DE KA you can installl it right under the oil pressure switch on oil filter housing. there is a "plug" bolt which you can take out with 5mm Hex key . only prolem you may have is finding a adaptor fitting to install the sending unit

how much oil will come out and how fast when that plug is removed. Where is the oil temp unit tapped?

really? i must have missed that. even the fsm says to pull the oil pressure switch to test oil pressure. most other ka-t guys use a tee off the switch location as well.

the ka doesnt have one stock, but you can tap the oil pan to add one.

I have yet to install my megan racing oil pressure gauge which is still in the mail. Does any one know if they come with an aftermarket sending unit? Apparently from this Gauge Install the autometer oil press. gauge just comes with a fitting. How is it better to use an aftermarket oil sending unit rather than stock.

stock oil pressure sender on the SR and KA is just for the dummy light in the gauge cluster. The ECU doesnt take any readings from it...

What i did was just remove the stock oil pressure sender and install my Omori line there. Just leave the plug disconnected from the stock sender and the light wont stay on... My Omori gauge, and other decent electrical gauges come with a SS line with an adapter that is the same threading as the stock sender for the SR. You just hook the SS line, then mount the actual sending unit on the firewall, then you just get the wires from the sender to your gauge.

Its strongly recommended that you dont run the sender directly on the block, as they can break from vibration and stress...

contact the company who made the gauge and tell them you need the sender and whatever else it comes with it...
