Those are not drag slicks, they are DOT approved drag racing tires. The only disadvantage to those is that they will wear quickly. I wouldn't use those for DD as it just doesn't make sense. I mean if you don't have enough money to have two sets of rear wheels and tires is your car really fast enough to warrant the use of drag tires?

why would you even want those? you could buy a couple sets of tear drops with better tread for $250.

Seriously guys. Why has nobody said that those BFGs are not drag slicks or even street slicks?! They are drag radials for pete's sake! There is nothing "slick" about them. For street tires, I would run DRs if you are having traction issues, don't care about wear, and have deep pockets or can get a deal on those pictured. I personally will be running a set of DRs on my rears next spring.

These are drag slicks:

If you could spin falken 615s on a launch with a stock 240 I'd be shocked. I can launch pretty hard with 255 wide falken 452s with minimal wheel spin

There is something that nobody brought up: heat retention and dissipation at sustained highway driving.

Research before arguing.

452s suck. That's what I have right now, and I'm changing because they spin so readily. Kumho MXs are about as good and cheap as you can get before going to a drag radial.

How can you launch just as hard on summer tires as you can on drag radials....

That would mean that drag radials are never necessary, which probably isn't true.

But i can't be sure i've never used them.

Racing compounds need a lot of heat to work. It's possible to get more traction from a heated/shaved summer compound than a cold race compound.

like everyone said those are D/r's (DRAG RADIALS)

Those will last you 5000ish miles give or take. If you have some real power and your looking to go straight then get them. IF your into drifting/road racing/street carving i wouldn't reccomend them to you. These will be ok in the rain as long as you drive it like a well mannered adult.

My buddy ran those exact tires from Milwaukee Wisconsin to Orlando Flordia back to Wisconsin on a 600whp pumpgas MKIV Supra rain/dry and he was fine just gotta relax and go slow in the rain.

RT615 are far from a good drag tire. I spin the shit out of them when drag racing. I have 275/40/17 on the back. Swapping to my 275/50/15 MT Drag Radials is a night and day change in traction.

How ever the MT totally suck when trying to go around turns or drive any bit hard(unless its a straight line)

On a stock car you are just wasting $$$$ unless you are going to bracket race.

Honestly... if its a DD, get 2 sets of tires. I have my stock bmw BBS meshes, and then some stock 95 M3 wheels. My meshes have cheap ass all seasons, and my m3's have some nice (nice and cheap lol) Fuzion ZRi's.
