HELP: Looking for a shop that stretch tires in LA area

*REPOST* Noob here!
http://zilvia.net/f/chat/256386-help...s-la-area.html

I'm trying stretch my tires on Meister S1 (18x10.5) with General Tire (235/40/18), but couldn't get it work. I was at tire central, JC auto house, and pepboys, but no luck.

Is it the shape of the wheel or tire that causing this problem? Front had no problem at all. Although, we did use cheeter (cheater) to get it to work.

Do you guys know any shop that can get this to work? Any recommend shop? I'm getting tired of this crap.

I'm doing my 5 lug conversion w/ STI bbk this Sat, so I'm gonna need my wheels mounted before that.

Thanks advance!!!

And, I didn't feel like blowing up tires or new Meister s1, so no go on that flame thing. I seen youtube videos, but I still don't feel like risking hurting myself, tires, and wheels.

City Tire knows what they're doing, good ppl. There's also DTC in Long Beach (hit up DTC Superstar on here). If those two places can't do it, then you're pretty much SOL.

The tires are a bit on the small side. I had 265's on my 10.5 rims & those provided a decent stretch... don't know why you need to go that extreme w/ a 235...

Call up those places first, you can find CityTireOnline & DTC Performance on here (or searching on google).

Noobie mistake.

I thought about returning my 235 for 245, but cost too much. I'm going to definitely try city tire first then if that doesn't work out then I will try DTC.

thanks for the heads up.

Good to hear that.

I was starting to get little tired and nervous that it wasn't going to work, but now that you had a experience with city tire... I'm so glad.

City Tire 10000%.

They're VERY local to me(so local that I drive by them several times each day, hah).

GREAT people/service.

John/Brian are awesome and will definitely help you out with whatever you need.

I'm also running 235/40 on 10.5

I didn't need a cheeter or whatever. Did it with an old tire machine in my friends garage. I'm running federals though... don't know how different they are from General Tires...

rb wheels can do it

meisters are a bit harder to air up tho since the droop in the barrel is much steeper

General Tires are bitch to work w/ because they are so hard.

Indeed.

It took a while for them to work... Same thing goes for any other Work wheels. It is the barrel that causing this problem.

City Tire ftw.

They were able to do it, but only by using two cheeters! They tried using one cheeter, but no luck... with two cheeter, piece of cake.
