I am running 285/30/18's... 24.73 overall diameter
275/40/17's, which are the size that I see most on here with turobed S14's running measure 25.66.... This is larger than my 18's... The 18's are fine when sized with a proper tire...as they are smaller overall diameter than probably 95% of people running 17's with tires on this forum.. |

I think it has more to do with the amount of sidewall/sidewall stiffness to hook off the line. The 18's are going to have a lower profile and a stiffer sidewall. The tires are not going to flex under load and transfer the shock to the tread and break the tire loose. Great for Drifting, horible for drag racing.

The K/D's are very soft, and I believe are a step ahead of most other tires on the market in terms of tread design, etc..
It has been raining here in North Florida for the past two days.. So, this is what probably contributed most to the tire spin.. I hate to blame it all on the tires, as I'm sure the roads aren't 100% dry yet.. |

dude, cars-101....
large wheels = bad for off the line racing. everything from weight, to the thickness of the tire and its inability to grip the road because it'll wheel-hop easier. only benefit is that you can fit big brake kits, but even then you chose to go with Z32 calipers which arent the greatest.. but i like the supra rotors.. interesting. anyway, best of luck to you........... brah |

funny quote....
"Besides this, the only other thing is the car does not have speedo, as we never needed it.. McKinney Motorsports makes an adapter that you can have for about $300 that will make the speedo read. At 3000 RPM, in 5th gear, is 70 MPH. I don't need the speedo, because if I'm going over that, I'm breaking the law and It doesn't matter how fast I am going at that point." hehe fuckit huh? |

I definately appreciate the work that went into the car. I want an rb powered 240 next. I as with most on here dont like the two tone look but again, it's yours not mine. As for the Noble... I have no doubt it was JT's since you were in Destin, he has 2 of them, He came to our first local drift event and was impressed with my driving enough to let me take it out for a spin, first on the street, then on the track. All I could say was wow.... the car is so damn fast and so torquey in every gear. Its sucks for drifting though, no weight in the front, and no steering angle whatsoever. Here is a few pics of me driving it:

Hey man, Noble Drift, yeah that's the guy I raced....
That car is very quick.. I didn't think he would street race as he appeared to be an older guy.. But I egged it on, and I really appreciate him taking the bait... That was the first time I've ever seen one in person, very nice... |

nice car, but the videos i saw of it, sounds like crap.
I hope you guys tuned it better. BTW, yes, I'm not a fan of the paint scheme. Make it a complete car and you can probably get more money for it on ebay.

i dont see why people got to talk trash on someones car....well i think it was a great basis for Mckinney to get the RB26 setup kit out there and also a great way to get the Underground name out there... I commend u for your work...and hope whoever gets this car next can finish it up...and hope all goes well with the R33...good luck and congrats

^i hope you dont think im trash talking. I would love to have that car... but in my personal opinion, it looks incomplete. Dont take things so out of context.
The work done to it awesome. Its one of the first I have seen.

The reason the car was idling bad was because it had a vacuum leak... Those vids were shot at McKinney's shop before it was completed..
The car drives like a champ, and everything is done from a mechanical standpoint... |

Talk more about the car, and less about the comments. :-P btw- Nice car, but as most here, I would have prefered it painted.

Think we all are in denile but then again we all knew this day was coming... the hype from drifting is making the 240 the perfect target for kids to drop their honda's and kill themselves on canyon roads trying to drift and make the 240 flashy.... I myself agree with everyone else the cars not my kind of touch, but knew this kind of flash and pozaz was gonna happen sooner or later with how fast the sport of drifting grew.
(edit) not sayin the owner dropped his honda to get into the craze but thats what the market is shooting for. |

Obviously, I wanted a show stopper, sure...
I have owned my 240SX since 1999, back when people were just starting to look into the SR swaps here in the South Central USA... The old 240sx guys are purely performance, and function... Whereas the new generation are, as you have said, previous Honda and Acura owners for the most part... I wanted to build a car that would appeal to each market, as you obviously know I run a business that caters specifically to the 240SX market.. With the RB26DETT, we shot to appease the older crowd, my generation... But, at the same time, we had to draw in the youger crowd with the wheels, body kit, paint, etc... I hope that this car can be appreciated for the hardwork that has gone into, whether you like the pieces that were added or not... |
