My RB26DETT 240SX is featured in 01/05 HCI Mag! Pics inside!
Hey All,
Well we made the 01/05 issue of HCI mag. I just went this morning to Barnes and Noble, and picked up a few copies... I scanned the article in for ya'll who don't have HCI in your local bookstores to check out... Take care! Chris |

Mckinney motorsports was the only other person that touched the car, and they used my car to design their RB26 installation parts... downpipes, mounts, etc..Obviously that meant they had to install the motor in order to do the fabrication, etc...
Everything else was wrenched by yours truly.. Chris |

Just My Opinion:
I personally don't care for all the Carbon Fiber myself. I'd say if your happy with it then all is well, but obviously you aren't happy with it. If you were I doubt you would sell it. Now if it was a demo-vehicle, I completely understand. Mission Accomplished: You built the car, got it featured in a mag, good job. Good luck with R33, but please don't do to it what you did to this S14. Build it for yourself, not for a Magazine. -Barry

Text below cover appears to be editors notes:
"...did you guys notice this months cover car? Alex Asfura's chromed-out Civic coupe..."

may i call to attention a quote out of the article?
"...,A'PEXi supplied dual super-flow intake pods, which allow the air to make its way though a custom McKinney downpipe. Spent exhaust then makes its way through an A'PEXi 3-75-inch Ex Mag exhaust..." ok a few things 1. isnt it APEX'i for apex integration? 2. the super-flow dual intake filters will put air through the downpipe? 3. Dosen't RSR make the Ex Mag exhaust? Apex'i makes the N1 and the GT right? |

2. I guess it's technically correct. The air from the filters will get to the downpipes... eventually. After that sentence you quoted, the rest of that paragraph is basically retardation. If they had hired someone besides the photographer to write the article, it might have been better. Here's my lame-o interpretation of how someone more skilled would write it: To better increase the airflow through the RB26, A'Pexi supplied the dual super-flow intake pods(pods?), which allow the air to quickly make its way through the twin T2x turbines and on to the Hybrid Power FMIC. To keep compressor surge in check, an A'Pexi Racing Max Power (where do they come up with these names?!) BOV has been encorporated in the hot/coldpipe. Spent exhaust makes its way through a custom McKinney downpipe, connected to an A'Pexi GT Spec exhaust to keep their heads ringin' [ring, ding, dong]. Hey, at least I got the order right. 3. Yeah, RS*R makes the Ex Mag. From the description (3.75") it sounds like an Apexi GT Spec. I think it can all be explained this way: It's Hot Compacts & Imports Magazine.

yeah, it ain't exactly motortrend. the only mag i can take reading is SCC cause they don't usually promote rice-ism.
well, other than the fact that this years ultimate street car challenge has NO exotics (undoubtedly becuase all previous competitions were won by a ferrari and OWNED by a viper). |

yeah I noticed the boost controller too. what's with that? and yeah paint the carbon fibre. how much weight are you savin by not having painted fenders and bumpers. the wing and the hood are ok not painted but thats about it.
though I did plan on doing fenders, bumpers, doors, hood keeping them unpainted. but the car was at least going to be painted black. KEvin

This car if done well would compete great against a regular skyline.
Like you guys, I don't get why they took a picture of the disconnected solenoid like it was hot shit.
