new 89 s13 build

so im looking at buying an 89 s13 that someone was in the process of swapping a vg30 into, they ran out of money and are now selling the car, im also getting a full dual cam swap out of a 93 hatch and im considering just buying the entire 93 for spare stuff.

basically this is going to be my first major build and i want to know where i should start on parts sources, good places to tuck fuse boxes, relays etc and things of that nature, i have owned 2 previous 89s one had a swapped dual cam and i did a halfassed rebuild on it before i wrecked it, im no inexperienced mechanic but i want to do this car right and make it a real project.

so first off im getting the car next week and the motor set on the tenth, after i get the car im going to be pulling all the interior out and start on engine bay cleaning and pretty much just organizing everything in the car to make the wiring and just the general work go smoother, it has a decent set of coil overs on it and the suspension is all there so i just need to work on the motor and wiring stuff to start.

i want to start on the wiring as soon as possible but that is going to be a very involved kind of thing and i want all the stuff im gonna need to do it first, like fuse blocks and things like that so if anyone has any good parts sources that would be awesome. and any feedback on anything else i should do first would be nice as well

and before you tell me i have looked at a lot of threads on wiring and rebuilds but everyone always seems to have something different to say or to bash someone else's build or tell them their parts are crap without citing any real parts sources, im not looking for someone to tell me not to use certain parts im looking for information on where to find good quality aftermarket parts and im looking for the best way to do things not multiple ways to do things wrong

Sorry but the phrase "major build" and "dohc ka" should be used together. Next. Leave the fuse boxes where they are. If it is your first major build, you may want access to them when you start the car. Fuses like to pop. I have always liked the way engine bays looked stock. Next. Why are.you yanking the interior. Interior makes the car look clean. You say that you aren't a mechanic. Why not start with just getting the car running with the ka. Then focus on something else. Tearing a car completely down with out a definite plan is a disaster waiting to happen.

i said im not an inexperienced mechanic, i know the motor runs so im not to worried about it not running when i put it together, im pulling the interior because i know things like the reverse lights, brake lights, and other electrical things don't work im going to be putting the interior back in after im done, i have completely taken apart all my cars when i get them to fix all the stupid little electrical problems that build up from previous owners neglect, i am going to be doing a full wire tuck and hide and relocating the fuse box to a hidden but still accessible spot, i have a general plan and these cars are very familiar to me so that is not a problem at all, i just need some little tips on good places to tuck and hide things as i have never actually done a tuck on one

so again you say that you arent an inexpererienced mechanic, yet you are having trouble finding an accessable place to find fuse boxes? why would you need to remove the interior to diag the tail lights not working. why would you do a full wire tuck on a car that has an interior. sound like you have been reading to many other threads, started by people who know what they are doing. i for see the car going no where

been a while since i have been on this site due to assholes who just want to be assholes for some reason, mainly the person im quoting, anyways im going to address your issues before moving on to how far my build has gone and requsting that this thread be closed.

i was looking for an accessable place to mount the fuse boxes without cutting the harness, there are lots of places to mount it but i didnt feel like cutting it to move a few things.
and i didnt remove the interior just to diagnose the tail lights, i was also running a system, relocating my battery, and fixing alot of other little broken things throughout the car, like my antenna cable, rear defrost wires, and alot of other little random things, and last, i wasnt doing a full wire tuck i was doing a engine bay wire tuck.

now on to my project that you forseen going no where, it is now running strong stroked and turboed at 16 psi, dynoed at 312 hp to the wheels about a week ago, it is now my daily driver and has 5k miles on the current setup.

looks like i went pretty far for someone who was reading to many threads started by people who knew what they were doing, try not being an asshole for no reason next time, as assholes like you are the reason zilvia gets such a bad rap on every other nissan forum
