Scale Suspension - What is Customer Service?
I apologize in advice for this rant of a post, but I thought I should share my ongoing experience for anyone looking to purchase their coilovers, and maybe help get this resolved as I know their sales manager is a member on here.
I came across Scale while looking for coilover for my Genesis Coupe and everything I'd seen about them looked good and the fact I'd be supporting a Canadian company was a bonus. So I sent them an email about pricing, options, turn around time, etc. and replies were always super fast, knowledgeable and the price seemed good so I placed my order. After about a month passed, I still hadn't gotten any form of update so I sent an email asking for one, no response. I ended up having to send 3 or 4 more to finally get a response, this should have been the first red flag, but it was the middle of summer so I figured they were just busy with orders. Anyways I finally get a response back and they say that they have been working on a true rear coilover for the Genesis and that because of my patients, I'll be receiving the first set, sweet! A couple weeks go by again and still no update, now it's been about 9 weeks since my original purchase. Send off another email asking for an update, again, have to send multiple before I get a response. Once it finally comes, I'm told that they will be shipping out that Friday and I'll get my tracking number at that time. Well Friday comes and goes and no tracking number. I send yet another email that following Monday asking for the tracking number, the next day they send it to me. I then realize that the tracking order was created that day (Tuesday) meaning that it was pretty obvious they did not ship on Friday like I had been told but maybe they had something come up and weren't able to ship them out until Tuesday. Wrong. It has now been over a week since I was sent the tracking number, 11 weeks since my initial purchase, and it has yet to be activated by UPS which tells me that my coilovers still aren't finished. Which also tells me they blatantly lied about them shipping out that Friday and that the tracking number I receive was made just to make me think they'd finally gotten their shit together and built/shipped them. I've sent off multiple emails these past 2 weeks asking for a real update on where they are but have not gotten a response, go figure. I'm now trying to decide whether or not to cancel my order and go with one of the companies I've order coilovers from before that actually respond to emails and don't take ridiculous amounts of time to build them as it seems like Scale doesn't really care whether or not their customers get their coilovers. Again, sorry for long-winded, rant post, but I wanted to share my experience with them as a heads up to anyone that is considering ordering from them in the future as this is some of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with when ordering parts. Cheers |

this!
let them deal with the consequences on their end. when a customer emails me, regardless if im busy or not, they usually receive a response back from me almost instantly (there are rare instances where i really need to think about a response just due to the complexity or fragility of the question, but this is fairly uncommon). if theyre not sending you regular updates on their promise regarding you getting the first set of anything, then theyre NOT worth doing business with. every customer who orders a prototype from me is usually updated weekly to bi-weekly. it makes the customer feel that their purchase is not only justified but that i have their best intentions in mind (of which i do, hence reaching out and giving updates). point is, get your money back, buy a set of stance, fortune autos or some other reputable brand who actually makes it a point to keep in contact with you regarding your order and will respond immediately to any questions you have, ESPECIALLY ones regarding your order AFTER youve sent them your money!!! |

I finally received an update today after threatening cancelling the order and apparently they received them on the Friday like they said. However the machinist messed up the mounts, I get shit happens but why they didn't send me an email about it when it happened is beyond me?? And it confirms that they did blatantly lie when they sent me the tracking number. I was able to get them to give me a new time frame so I guess we'll see |

i understand that youre 19, naive and ok with giving people numerous chances... but, i hate to tell you, youre being taken advantage of.
get your money back and go get some fortune auto coilovers. if i ordered these and they werent in the mail within 2 weeks with a provided tracking number that shows actual carrier activity, i wouldve told them to refund me and would have happily taken my business somewhere else! done deal! |

They will be out of stock for around a month, so its not an instant solution for you. But you won't get left hanging. They are true rear coilovers.

Update Time - Fuck These Guys!
So after this thread was created, I was contacted by Scale saying to either delete the thread or get a refund. I told them I wanted a refund, which they respond to saying that if I wanted, they would send out my coils immediately sans camber plates as they were machined wrong but everything else was good to ship... why the fuck they didn't offer this earlier I don't know. A week later the coils finally show up at my house, guess what, they didn't send the true rear coilovers like I was promised and what I had agreed to waiting extra time for. So another email is sent asking why I didn't receive the true rears, well apparently they didn't feel like telling me that since I ordered my coilover before they started to produce the true rears, I was never actually going to get them... Again why the fuck they didn't feel like telling me this just shows how much they like to fuck you around. I have no told them to keep the camber plates and refund me my money for them as I'm sick of all this fucking around and I'm tired of constantly trying to contact them to get simple answers. I hope this thread serves as a warning to anyone looking to buy coils that doesn't want to get fucked around after they have given a company their money |

I've bought coils new from them twice as well as many other parts. They've always picked up the phone and answered my dumbass questions too.

a lot of people I know run stance, and they all have excellent things to say about their products. I would not hesitate to order from them (except that pbm is local to me so I don't have to pay shipping) |

Sucks to deal with shitty companies like they seem to be.
But with all the brands of suspension mentioned(maybe for your application choices are limited), why are no real brands suggested. Someone like ohlins, JIC, hks, tein, ect... Companies that have had YEARS of time in the market and actually developed customer service and R&D. Whatever, just my 2cents

Do PBM for the Genny. I installed them on a buddy's Genny (that's what kool kids call the Genesis), and then we started doing "JDM" poses and making unintelligible sounds that impersonated the way the guys sounded in old option and hot version dvds. Afterwards, we rode around and took pictures without our steering wheels on. And whenever someone asked where we got our suspension (my G35 was slammed as was his Genny), we'd say we overnighted parts from Japan. We didn't, but that's what we said. It was such a gas. Plus, his car is pretty comfortable and slides well. So, that's a plus. But, PBM comes with a sticker in a language I don't speak or read, soooooooooooooooooooo we're assuming it's Japanese.

+39487593475 for PBM. When I ordered my coilovers over a year ago, Tommy handled my whole order, helped me pick out spring rates and the right set of bases for me, gave me constant updates on when they'd be shipped, and made everything super personable and awesome. Wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from them at all, probably why I've gone back for other things multiple times now. They're an awesome company to deal with and they really care about their customer base! Might I add, my coilovers feel awesome, my car handles really well, grip driving and drifting, and everything just feels awesome.
