Thanks! Yes I do like/appreciate all types of cars. If I had the patience for restoration I'd be building a hot rod lol. The plate was a tricky one to slip by the BMV but I pulled it off for 3 years somehow. And yes the only downside to those clamps is they are a one shot deal. What's the story on the Quest alternator?

Well after a couple tries I finally got the right size p/s belt, it's pretty much the shortest 3 rib belt that stores carry around here. Ordered all the fittings I needed and finished everything up today. Ended up going with -8 for the main feed since I have a surplus of -8 lines and fittings laying around from the blue Civic.
Parts... Radiused feed fitting for maximum flowage... Cool T for the return line. Helps keep the fluid from getting air pockets I suppose... I cut it open so you guys can get a better look high pressure line installed... belt alignment check... Shortened the can about 2" or so. Had to go from 'Nascar' size to Nissan size... All done... Nice an compact! Sneak peek at the air cleaner setup, the next project...

Thanks man!
Got the air intake pipe built tonight. Had to relocate the BOV on the hot pipe, haven't decided where I want to put it yet though...

NICE PROGRESS buddy... I hope to be starting the tubs tomorrow. The old ones are already drilled out... now to replace em, hoping to come out as clean as yours! Have you relocated your fuse/relay boxes yet?

great looking build so far, very impressed! quick question though...isn't the p.s. going to heat up with the res. being so close to the exhaust manifold now?

Thanks guys!
Been working on the valve cover. Welded some AN fittings on it and painting it. Also getting ready to work on the front lca's and making a tension rod brace. Should have some pics in the next couple days... Maybe a little more than before, it's not super close. I'll probly add a steering cooler sometime down the line anyways...

Trying to get this thing on the road soon. Just gotta finish up this front suspension and do some subframe modding in the rear.
Got this from 'george' on Zilvia. It's a spacer/extender for the steering rack. Basically on the 240 the rack uses the inner tie rods as 'stops'. This extends the rack so you can get more travel out of it. It'll also get me more length on my tie rods for the knuckle mod I'm going to do. Made a Nismo style tension rod brace... Boxed in... Took the spring out of the coilover and ziptied the strut to where it would sit in the middle of the travel range... then figured out the spacing with some washers and bolted it tight to align the monoball housing... double checked rotor clearance then tack welded the housing in place... Also, trimmed up the inner fender liner so my air filter has some protection.

Got the lower contol arms boxed in and did the final welding on the monoball housings. Now just need to have my brother make me some spacers on his big lathe he's got out in the garage.
Next up, knuckle time!

Looking good! but, the "Honda Championship White from the Integra Type R. Gotta keep it real" might get you yelled at by someone on here, better watch out!
What are your plans with the build? It seems like you tend to sway towards the drag end of racing.

Again, I'm a drag racer at heart because that's about all there is to do with a car around here. My plan with this car is to focus more on handling and do some track days and auto-x's this summer.

I'm starting to get amazed at how much welding I have done on this car, shits outta control lol!
Here's the knuckle mod I've been hinting at. Basically relocating the tie rod portion which will do two things. First, it'll drop my tie rod mounting point to give me a better starting point to dial out bump steer. And second, it 'quickens' the steering ratio and gives a little more steering angle. A poplular mod amongst the drifting crowd  First, cut off and grind down the old steering stop... Then measure and mark the cut... Then figure out where you want them and Bob's your uncle... Tig'd at 175 amps, they aren't going anywhere Painted purty... Then something fell out of the back of my car... This mess. Got to lower the subframe before I can raise it....wtf. Since PBM is currently out of sub frame risers I decided to take matters in my own hands and make my own riser setup. The red line is where it used to sit against the body, the green line is where it's going to sit against the body. Approx. 1/2" difference. The red anodized pieces are bushing spacers that basically turn the bushings into solid mounts. The top is C shaped so you don't have to take the whole thing out. This will help correct my geometry (or roll center) in the rear. Without spacer... Quickly cut/grinded down to see if my washer size is going to work... Money! I have to do that on top and bottom. I'm going to leave the rubber part of the bushing inside so that the metal sleeve that goes on the studs will stay centered. Just going to stink like hell when I weld everything up lol!

Yeah throw a few spots on the washer and center pin to keep em centered once that rubber starts to melt.. lol. LOOKING GREAT man. What did you end up doing for your relay boxes under the hood?
Edit, nevermind... went back and saw them. For whatever reason I skipped over those pics while masturbating to your tubs. lmao Last edited by Pure_JDM; 03-01-2011 at 10:53 AM.. |

Lookin good, man! I just dropped an s14 subframe last night to toss into my ride. If your brother has a lathe, why not whip up some solid bushings?
