To some it's not hassle at all. Hell, if you throwing 10k into your 2k car, what is another 2 days of work and maybe $50 in parts to have one clean ass engine bay? I never understood the "hey, lets get this swap done has fast as possible and as haggard as possible... don't worry, its a drift car" mentality.
I've seen build where people where to fucking lazy to even whip down the engine bay with a hand-towel between builds. |

Ya, here's what I posted from the previous page...
I still want to rebuild the engine harness but I am using all stock 240sx wiring otherwise. Just had to add a couple relays in the fuseblock. Stock ignition, power supply circuit, etc. Also relocated battery to the truck... I'll try and get pics of that this week. Here's another of the fuseblock... You can see the bracket I'm using is kinda haggard but it allowed me to use existing holes, and it was just an extra piece lying around, so eh, w/e lol. You can see it's held on by wingnuts so the whole box is removal by 2 hand tightened wingnuts and the two spin-lock connectors. |

I would love to have wires tucked in my engine bay, but I'm stupid when it comes to working with wires. What would be the easiest thing to get started with to make that mess look a bit better?

That looks really good, man! I'm kind of wishing I would have tubbed my fenders before the area that would have to be cut out. Oh well, next winter.
I'm really digging the clutch fan on your setup. Blends so well with the bay. |

Behind strut towers, up right behind headlights (out of site from the front), next to radiator. All depends on if you keep the stock reservoir or go with aftermarket options.

Just wondering.. Ive taken apart my loom from the fuse box but its still all dangling in the engine bay how are you guys pulling it thru into the car?
Might sound massively noob but ive never really delt with looms and plan on getting somebody to wire it properly but i want to spray my bay and just need to detatch it so i can feed it into the car. Thanks.

I can't take credit for the wire tuck on my car. But I did work my ass off to make the money it cost me to have it done, so I'll take credit that way.
Full chassis rewire. Engine harness has all unnecessary wires removed. All wires sleeved. Fuse panel rebuilt and moved under dash. OBDII port wired in (its a 95 S14).Pictures are worth 100 words so... |

^^^ Looks like a solid job, using standard copper wire and split loom. Were you paying by the relay, or did you really need 11 or 12 relays lol?
I dig the setup, looks like the routing is good, and the use of Deutsch connectors is classy. I'm curious who did it, and ballpark what it cost?

How easy is it to disconnect the driver side harness from behind the dash on a s13? you have to take the dash out or can you just get it from underneath? i need to relocate before it snows...

That was my work posted above. Aaron(slideways74) brought the car to me and needed a complete rewire. The old wiring was......lacking. hehe. All of the connectors are Deutsch, gold contact, Tefzel wire, and split loom(sooooo easy to troubleshoot). Relays were Key, ACC, Ign1, Ign2, Starter, Headlight Low, Headlight High, Fuel pump, Fan1, Fan2. Aaron also wanted to use all of the OEM switches instead of toggles to keep a more "street" look. Here are a few others I've done. S13 Nissan 240SX - Import Tuner Magazine This was my 2nd harness ever. I learned a lot from doing it and have gotten a lot better since. Power-2-Weight: 1989 NISSAN 240SX Power-2-Weight: 1989 NISSAN 240SX I also did the wiring in Chase's car(purple coupe) But I dont think I took any pictures of it. And finally, my own personal car. 1987 LS1 powered FC. This was my first foray into wiring outside of normal "sr wiring swaps". I'm gonna redo it cause I've gotten better since. The plan for my FC is to shave a lot of the engine bay stuff and do a whole lot of general cleanup.

That does look very good. Also looks super easy to trouble shoot as you mentioned. See, milspec DR25 covered harnesses aren't always the best, people! Do what works for your needs instead of following a fads...especially with something that could cost you as much as a full rewire.
