Heat wrap/shielding?
I'm installing an S15 T28 on my S13 SR, using Taka conversion lines for oil/water transfer.
Is it a good idea to shield these lines with some kind of heat wrap? I imagine that the heat itself wouldn't usually be a problem, but the lines are right under the exhaust manifold. Also, I figure the wrap might help guard against the lines abrading anything around them. Thoughts?

i was wondering this 2, i thing they should be fine, but idk, my oil line is steel, but the coolant lines on mine are rubber with ss wire loom around it. i was wondering if heat wrap would be a good idea to...

No, you don't need to wrap SS lines in any type of sleeving - the SS itself protects the teflon/rubber line inside. My opinion is that the increase in water temps/oil temps from passing through slightly hotter hoses is insignificant. If you could protect from reflected heat, it would be different, but you're still getting a lot of convection with or without sleeving.
The one you should sleeve (if you have a tubular manifold) is the "oil catch can" crank vent -> valve cover vent hose. Here you can see Firesleeve (orange stuff) over that, and gold foil on the firewall - keeps everything nice and safe/cool

Well, I've got some DEI hose heat shielding on order, I'll go ahead and put it on the oil/water lines anyway. I'm more worried about abrasion/vibration than about the heat, it'll give me some peace of mind.
What brand is that Firesleeve, and where do you get it? I found some on Summit, made by Mallory, but it says it's 5/8" inside diameter and I'm not convinced it'd fit over the stock breather box hoses.

5/8" is plenty big - but if you're using the stock breather box, you're not running a tubular manifold, so you don't have to worry about it.
