[rant] i hate 240sx fuel system
I HATE THE ****IN FUEL SYSTEM IN OUR CARS. WHAT FOOL WAS GIVEN THE TASK OF DESIGNING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE???
Yes i'm screaming. And i'm ****ed. What was there big idea of putting the fpr close to the firewall? Why wasn't the front of the car good enough for em??? I dunnow if anyone else ever had this happen, but today in the morning, i came out to put my fuel rail on. Everything was going fine. Till the time i had to put the stupid ****in nut that is below the FPR. EVERY SINGLE TIME i try puting it on, it falls down. I dunnow. You are somehow supposed to sit it on there before using the wrench, but thre is soooooo little space there, it always gets droppped. And it NEVER comes out on the bottom of the car, it always gets stuck in the intake manifold area. I ****IN HATE THIS. I dropped the nut 2 hours ago, and i've been searching since then and i still don't have a slightest clue where that little ****er is. I've also managed to drop a socket that was lying on my valve cover. So yeah, good way to kill a day on a 10 minute job. and i can't shake it out - car is on jack stands.... blah... i need to calm down. |

1. buy a telescoping magnetic pickup for when you drop crap in your engine bay.
2. buy a 3/8" universal joint, and a 3/8" 8" or longer extension. 3. use some goop (like grease or putty) to keep the nut in it's socket. 4. place socket on universal joint. 5. place universal joint on extension. 6. aim universal joint at stud. 7. move socket/ joint/ extension in direction of stud 8. adjust aim as necessary. 9. make contact with stud. 10. rotate extension clockwise untill nut threads on. 11. insert 3/8" ratchet into extension. 12. torque down on nut a bit. Of course, it's so much easier with no EGR crap in my way.... I can just reach down there and thread the nut on by hand.
