Completly [email protected]$KED by JDMENGINECORP.com!!! HELP NEEDED!
Hi everyone! So I was wondering if anyone has bought anything from JDMENGINECORP.com (located in Texas) and how was your experience? I ordered a complete running SR20DET. Engine, transmission, wiring harness, ECU, igniter, and CAS. When I ordered it the guy that runs JDMEGINECORP double charged my credit card and it took over a week to get my money back. He also would not pay for my over draft fees that I got charged because of him. After that mess I still didn't recieve my motor for over 2 weeks. Once I recieved the motor I took of the turbo to inspect it to make sure that there was no shaft play or any other problems. I found out that the turbo was bad and not worth fixing. Then I took off the valve cover to find out the the cams were rusted but fixable. The intake valves on the other hand were rusted to shit and completly destroyed. Also with the valve cover off I found out that the CAS was broken in half. Last but not least the piston rings are shit and only cylinder 2 has any compression at all. So basically I need to rebuild the motor. If anyone has had similar situation or any suggestions please let me know! Anything would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Tell them you're going to file a claim with you CC and then after that you're going to report them to the BBB. See if that doesn't put a fire under their belly. If they are a legitimate business they will care.
EDIT: They don't even have a website anymore, looks like someone already shut them down. |

First tell the c.c company your side of the story about the product you received and ask them to do a chargeback.
2nd, file a complaint to BBB with pictures of the products you received (by both phone and email). |

Thank you! Will the CC company do a charge back even though I recieved the product (in this case the motor)? And should I see if he could help me in any way first or just go straight to BBB?

I don't think why they wouldn't be on your side since you received a product that was not what you expected. That is considered fraudulent advertisement on that company's part.

talk to CC first then talk to him. CC company should understand since you did not get what you paid for, literally.
btw that is pretty damn gay. Also, post a review thread about this gay shops ass... |

Yes if the product they sold you was misrepresented and you have proof that they did then the CC will have no issue doing this. I had to do this with a tranny several years ago. Just provide them with all your correspondance and if you have them pics really help.

I'm not sure if they will credit you immediately, but that is why you have to explain to them what happened. Like others have said, I would consult a lawyer, just in case they deny the claims put against them. Call those a-holes up, and let them know, exactly what you are going to do, if things aren't made right. I doubt that they are even a member of the BBB, but, it doesn't hurt to make a report anyhow. Good luck. Hope that shop burns down.

Best thing to do is call both the BBB and the CC company. Funny thing is it seems they sent you junk. I can see something slipping buy but dayum. I doub't the credit card company will do anything about the overdraft because thats how they make money but it never hurts to fight it. However I dealt with a shitty company Express fuel pumps and they didn't seem to care that I contacted either so if they have a shitty rep they probably won't care.

Funny. It took 14 days for you to receive it. So it's out of "warranty." What a sneaky move.
"Any stock (non performance) engines purchased from JDM Engine Corp. includes a 30-day warranty starting on the date shown on invoice. Any performance engines (i.e. all turbocharged, supercharged, V-TEC Engines, KL-ZE Engine) include a 14-dayInsatallation & warranty also starting on the date shown on invoice. The warranty covers only internal parts of the engine block and head and does not cover transmission and related parts such as clutches, flywheels, flex plates, distributors, alternators, a/c pumps, power steering pumps and torque converters. The transmissions also come with 14 Days Installation & Warranty if bought separately. In the event of a defective engine block or head, JDM Engine Corp. will be responsible to replace or fix the defective part, at our discretion (if under warranty)."

call your credit card company and dispute the double charge, call the attorney general of the state of Texas and let them know that you are contacting him.

make sure you post updates, I'm sure this would help other people in the same situation.
I doubt the CC company would refund the transaction due to the fact that you received the item (wether be garbage or not) and authorized the transaction. If you want your money back for sure and don't mind doing some shadey stuff, tell the CC company you never made the transaction. I do that whenever I get ripped off. good luck

You don't have to be shady to dispute the charge. If what you received isn't to your satisfaction, call your credit card company and tell them so. They'll ask if you've tried to resolve the problem with the company, and then they'll have you fill out a form explaining the situation.
Once you file that form, they will take the money back from the company and "hold" it. They give the company a week or so to rebut your claim before they officially give you your money back. However, as the manager of a mail order company, I can tell you that even if the company DOES respond to the credit card company, you'll probably still win your case. The credit card company works for you, not them, and they're "guilty until proven innocent" in the case of chargebacks. However, this is why I always recommend that people use their credit cards for purchases like these- if you had used PayPal or sent them a money order, you'd be out of luck, but your credit card company will help you through it... Good luck with your engine build- be sure to let us know how it goes! |

I picked up an s13 blacktop from them in person about a year and a half ago, i had a good experience. Ive heard good and bad from them though from people having motors ordered. Their warranty is god awful along with their selection of motors, but if you have a chance, take your time and go and inspect the motors.
The compression on the motor said 100 across the board on their method of compression testing, but they said they do a dry compression test by hand, which is significantly lower than normal compression tests. Luckily, my motor had 155 across all cylinders. Valvetrain was very clean, but i found chunks of plastic in the oilpan which were from the timing chain guide. Blacktop motor i got was semi ghetto wiring wise, where wires were soldered directly to the injector pins and the lower harness was mangled, but the engine internally was clean and has a metal headgasket. Their customer service was rather unhelpful when i ran into issues with the driveshaft prop supplied being stuck in the tranny, immediately asking if i had a certified mechanic doing the installation. I was able to pay them 2200 cash for everything including a sidemount intercooler and piping, but they gave me some wrong piping so i had to ghetto rig it with lots of radiator hoses, but cranked up immediately and ran good until my gas tank got clogged and it now sits as of that. None of my coilpacks were bad, but my alternator crapped out a week later. I heard about a guy getting a motor with rod knock, but due to their shitty warranty, despite him being a local, was denied a warranty and screwed over do to him taking about 2 weeks for the installation. I got very lucky in my purchase, and would only consider purchasing if i went there again and only a newer motor, blacktop s14 or s15, and had time for immediate installation, otherwise, there are definately better places to have better chances on picking up quickly diminishing good condition redtops and whatnot.

David up at JDMenginescorp is an asshole. I have personal experience with dealing with them as they are local to me, plus I bought one motor from them.
Don't deal with them. Dispute the credit card charges if you can, rebuild and learn your lesson. Jazzproparts is just as bad, and they are advertising sponsors on this board! |
