If you bought an electric fan, all you have to do is run the power and ground, clip in the relay if you have one.... and you are done.

Since we are on the subject, what relay would you tap into? Is it supplied with the fans? How would it work if they were thermostatically actuated?

That I don't know. I had mine come on with the ignition. It was just on all the time. It came with it's own relay though.

Clutch fans are far superior to electric fans. If you can, use the stock clutch fan. Otherwise, just hook up power and ground, for a ghetto set up you can run a relay into the cab and install a switch to just turn them on manually.

Operate the fans off of a thermo switch. Otherwise you run the possibility of running you engine too cold with the fans running all the time, especially when it gets below 0*c, even if it doesn't get that cold.

The clutch fan is better, but if done right electric fans can do just the same...

Maybe this article can help you decide on an electric fan.

http://home.satx.rr.com/silviaweb/radiator_test.htm

It's pretty interesting and also includes some data that provides some insight into the clutch versus electric fan debate.
