Out of curiosity, what radiator/cooling setup are most of you guys running? I'm trying to get an idea of condenser placement as I know some people opt to cut the upper rad support a little bit to help with fan motor clearance. Pics of rads/fan setups are welcome!

looks like a clean setup dbeiler! I'm sure any AC shop can help you with the lines, just use some aluminum weld on crimp ends with the oem fittings. You have any issues with the car running hot at higher speeds from that shroud?

Had some scheduling issues that slowed me down, please stay tuned for completed pics next week! Until then here's a close up of the hydro dip work my buddy Spencer did last year for this car.

I am very excited for this!!!!! Having rhd converted car and sourcing jdm ac condenser is a pain in the ass.

I've been following the updates and it is safe to say that you have a customer ready. I'm using an RB25 Compressor on an RB26 so it'll be interesting to see how this will work. It's just an AC conpressor, so fitting are the only issue. However, I'll keep the thread updated and see how it works. If I'm correct, the compressors for the RB engines are different from the R32 to the R33-34?

Shot some completed kit photos as well as some installed pics today. I know everyone is waiting on pricing, please give me another day or so to get it all figured out. This kit was built on the fly and while keeping costs low was a priority, quality prevailed in a few instances and I haven't crunched the numbers just yet.
Disclaimer: Mounting brackets pictured are "prototypes." They have multiple holes, aren't cut perfectly, and were solely used for mock-up. Production brackets will be water jetted. Thanks! Details: -I was able to source a housing with the correct threads so that you may use your OEM Nissan AC pressure switch with no need for modified wiring. -I made adapter fittings at the evaporator (firewall connections) so that while the chassis may change, (s13, zenki, kouki) the hoses on the passenger side stay the same. (have yet to measure s13 to clarify this) -Same goes for the compressor fittings, they have standard AC o-ring fittings welded to them now. In the event of a compressor swap, there's a chance the lines wont have to be replaced, just the fittings themselves. -Kit was designed with specifically RB and JZ swaps in mind, allowing them to be the exact same up to the hoses on the Driver's side. Lengths and fittings on the driver's side hoses are subject to change based on drive train and compressor choice. This is also beneficial when adding the service ports to the hoses. RB exhaust manifolds and waste gates are generally too close to the compressor for us to run the high/low charge ports there and will likely result in melted caps and leaky valves. I located them near the firewall for this reason, however on a JZ swap, especially those running 4" down pipes, I'll feel much better knowing the charge ports are far far away at the compressor. |

Modified Evaporator Fittings:
Pass side hose routing: Modified J30 Compressor Fittings: Driver's side hose routing: Front Crossover Hardline: High press hose routing (under condenser, in front of radiator, connects at lower driver's side fitting, routes to firewall) |

It really looks great.
My only hangup about the system is having the fans still blowing through the condenser. Is there any way you could move the condenser further forward to allow the pusher fans to be mounted directly to the radiator?

Kit looks sweet. I really do like the idea of using the J30 condenser instead of the rb25. I have the rb25 condenser and mounting brackets. I have the wire specialist wire harness but not sure if it was equipped with AC (bought the car with the RB25 already installed.
So is this with the J30 condenser or Rb25? |

Word!!! I'm In....though Mine could be somewhat simple?
You live in Raleigh too. Sweetness! Z32 w/ RB25: I'll prob have to ditch the NA low side pipe and swap to the TT line (due to route location is diff) or just make a New one but Should be Very close to the Skyline setup.Gotta Have A/C! I will Be hitting you up at some point for sure. Sub'd

R32 compressors are longer, and will not fit with FUll Race manifolds and likely others as well.
R33 compressors are at least an inch shorter, and will fit with Full Race manifold. 97-98 S14 koukis have a variable AC compressor and do not have a temp switch in the evaporator to cycle compressor, It will freeze up on you if you put in a normal AC compressor. I have AC in my car and my car runs hot with it on, i still have stock radiator and RB clutch fan. I would like a condenser that fits on the other side of core support so u can run a thick Dual pass radiator and a good shrouded electric fan setup.. |

UPDATE: System vacuumed down and held vaccuum no problem, however the car is currently having an ignition issue and will not start so I have yet to charge it with refrigerant. Before I post any sales info I need to be able to provide you guys with pressure readings and vent temperatures. Sorry for the delay, something like this always happens, but as with most swapped cars and modifications go, I know you all already know that haha.
I appreciate it! will keep you posted! Quote:
Glad you like it! Pricing will be up within 2 days, still working to get it as low as I can. Thank you Quote:

I just installed the Evap temp switch in my Evaporator and had it control the ground side of the compressor clutch relay.
I used a temp sender from a honda cause i had it laying around, but from the looks a factory Nissan one from a Zenki should work fine, it just sits in the fins of the Evap coil. How long are you letting it sit in a vacuum? Tig welding those damn fittings is tricky, there so damn dirty!! i have a small leak somewhere on my car just havent had the time to mess with it, i tig welded my setup as well. what Turbo manifold is that guy using and how much clearance is there with the J30 compressor. |

The fabricator who does the fittings is no joke, plus a good bit of scotch brite and acetone prep goes a long way for sure. turbo kit is from Raw Brokerage, twin gates fit fine, it's a little tight but could be tighter and still work. I had to turn the dump tube a few degrees but that was it. |

I appreciate the kind words! What cooling setup are you running right now and what kind of temps do you see? Just curious as the owner of this blue s14 is looking to upgrade.

So for what everyone is waiting for, PRICING.
The kit is going to be priced at $599 shipped. Now I know everyone was really hoping to keep it under $500, and that was my main goal as well. However I just cannot afford to make them that cheap at this time. Now what I would love to do is a group buy with pricing at $499 + shipping with a minimum of 10 buyers. The larger quantity of buyers allows me to cut both water jetting and welding costs. If anyone is interested in doing so please let me know. As you already know, these kits are going to be shipped with all the necessary hardware, condenser, o-rings, hoses, fittings, and mounting brackets. After it's installed just run the car up to your local AC guy and have him vacuum it down and charge it up. |
