custom knuckles/angle kit + stock power

i definitely do see myself going lock-to-lock quite often when going for wider lines with my stock setup.

oh and don't say "oh you have to have this before you can run this.."

i wanted opinions from people who have run some sort of modified knuckles/angle kit with stock SR power.

wouldnt know really too much rain today and it was the first time i was driving with them haha

i kept finding myself spinning though because i was over estimating what i could get out of them


make sure you have low offset wheels or a decently stretched tire or something like that. they will rub with most setups.

im running 17x9 + 10 with 215/40/17 with +7.5/8 caster, it rubs on the wells as is, but ill probably cut it when i get the kit.

im even thinking of going back to stock caster just so i can run wider tires with less rubbing, but I want to see how much i can get away with running 215s up front with knuckles.

return to stock caster. or maybe just closer to stock. enough that it doesnt rub lol

its rubbing on the front wheel well, towards the head lights. i always figured that it would with the amount of caster i have.

I make my own now and need to finish up some logos before I start advertising. Jig located and tig welded to perfection. PM me for more info if interested. I also get a huge discount on shipping which I pass the savings onto you.

I currently run them on both my ls1 s13 coupe and stockish sr20 coupe. Once you drift with knuckles you wonder how you ever drifted without them. Power level doesnt matter but it does help when trying rear entry drifts.

hp is not necessary for modified knuckles.
the only thing i would recommend is build an adjustable bumpstop so you can prevent either the wheel from contacting the sway bar or tension rod, or the tie rod end from hitting the lca.
otherwise i can't think of any real downside.

makes parallel parking fucking cake.

I'm doing knuckles next season. Are front overs pretty much a requirement?
I run 17x8 + 0 with a 215 on the fronts and I rub as is.

my drift wheels are 235/45/17's on 17x8 + 25 and with my knuckles, tie rod spacers and chopped LCA's it barely touches the frame rail, and sway bar at the same time. but i don't have any issues anywhere else because I'm tubbed. pinch weld along the back frame is hammered flat

my street wheels are 235/40 17's on 17x8 +10 and they don't rub anywhere, maybe the sway bar if just right but i have a big sikky sway bar

wide fenders are NOT required at all. you should have no issue on stock rolled metal

Really? I have knuckles with 17x9 +4 (or 0 I can't remember, the 20mm spacer makes it) and 215/40 and I rub absolutely nowhere, lock to lock not a single touch

more steering angle is never a bad thing but if your gonna get knucks you are going to need to change your tie rod setup to reap the benefits

With increased angle you must remember that this will also slow you down. The more angle your drift is, it also acts a brake. So people w/ more power will gain more benefit. Not to say you can't have an underpowered car with knuckles, but once you're sideways WITH the greater angle, you're going to wish you had more power.
