In need of a safc2 tuner in NY
whats up guys. I got my seutp pretty much dialed in. good 11.6-11.9afrs under full boost. cruising im in the 14's. its just the transition from cruising to full it gets sloppy on me. and coming off throttle it back fires and wants to stall. also i want to see what its putting down on the dyno.
my setup is ka24det-stock motor jgs manifold 50trim .63a/r turbine 50lbs injectors 3 1/2 exhaust tuned ecu-its tuned for a 89.5mm bore 9.1cr built motor thats the motor that was in it but i had to pull and put a stocker in. So tahts why i got the safc to piggyback, clean it up a little. right now im running 12psi straight off spring. no boost controller. I am getting one and then want to get it on the dyno. So let me know if you guys know anyone in Long Island that is decent, or New Jersey. thanks. |

The bore and the compression ratio should have little to nothing to do with the air fuel ratio changing since you now have a stock motor. Is the motor a s13 or s14 thats in it now? s13 has 8.5:1 compression so if its tuned for 9:1 your just running a little consirtive on timing but the s14 has 9.5:1 i believe so if that is the case your running .5 higher compression than what your tune is for. You could almost get away with a small bit of retarding the dizzy.
Either way you cant controll the timing with a safc although you can effect it while messing with the air fuel ratio. I would get rid of it and and just make a small dizzy adjustment instead. If your ecu is tuned for the injectors and maf that your using there should be no need for an safc as long as that tune ran the last engine good for those injectors and maf. |

for vacuum/boost transition, you need to mess with your high/low throttle %. make low throttle the throttle position where you typically cruise. then raise the high throttle % from there until you get a good transition.
for the off throttle backfire/stalling.... do you have your bov recirculated? if not, you need to. |

yea bov is not recirculating. Its a blitz DD. doesnt have the fitting to recirculate it right now.
But i thought there is a way to get it to work without stalling and stuff without having to recirculate it. As for how the car ran proir to motor swap. Same thing. It ran rich at idle and cruising and lean under full boost. Im guessing the tune wasnt the greatest. I know i cant tell too much but the timing seems to be ok. If anything its jacked up on the low end side. With the safc im at +7 roughly in high throttle. And runs really solid like that. Once i can save some money and get a better tune this is what i have to do. |
