installing 300zx twin turbo rear end in 97 240sx

Ok, so heres the deal. I'm upgrading my 240sx to use the 300zx tt diff. Yes I know that its a 3.68 rear end and the stock on is a 4.08 but I'm also making 400whp and wanting to go higher. The twin turbo axles are larger so i'm going to use the spindles from the tt as well. have a custom drive shaft made and have the stock tt axles shortened by the drive shaft shop. My issue is that the spindles are hicas and have a ball joint for the rear tie/toe rod. Does anyone know if the bushing from the non turbo/ non hicas spindle will fit in the same location or is the hole in the spindle larger for the ball joint.
Also if there are any other issues you can think of that I'm going to have please let me know.

doesnt fit

the diff is an r230 from the TT and the stock diff is an r200 so the diff is larger. But you could use an Infiniti Q45 diff its beefier and you have to use the driver side from a 300zx TT and also the driver side from the q45. Also you can use the spindles off of an infiniti q45 because they are the same and easier to come by so in turn equals that it will save you $$$$ which in this economy you will want to keep around.

As the person above me said, a Q45 Differential is probably a better option than the Z32 TT R230. To install an R230 into an S13 or S14 Subframe modification is required because the R230 is physically larger than the R200.

The Q45 Differential is an R200 so it'll drop into your subframe with the correct cover, but at the same time it uses stronger axles like the Z32 TT. The Q45 Diff also came in 3.54 and 3.69 Final Drives.

Here's a link with more info: Q45 Diff into S13 or S14 Subframe

But to answer your original question, you should be able to bolt the Z32 TT Hubs Directly to your S-Chassis Rear Spindle (Upright) without any issue. Is there a reason you want to use the Z32 Spindle?

First off thanks for the replies, I know the R230 diff is bigger but appears to only be a half an inch taller than the R200 mounting wise. Also its a much stronger diff than the r200. I did lots of searching and got several conflicting reports saying that it would with a little modification for clearance and some say its impossible but I don't think anyone has actually tried it. I purchased a complete subframe drop out with everything. (drive shaft, diff, axles, uprights, ebrakes and cables, calipers, cross drilled rotors, tt master brake cylinder, aftermarket upper rear control arms, and the adjustable toe control arms for super cheap. So I'd like to use them instead of selling them and buying something else. Also noone else has used them and I'd like to be able to say it can be done. As for my orginal questions it was not that could i use the spindles. Rather it is a hicas ball joint issue. My car obviously doesn't have hicas so I run into an issue with the ball joint needing to be removed to fit into my subframe. My question is is the ball joint and the bushing interchangable on the spindle. Here is a diagram 430 Rear Axle :: Axle & Suspension :: Genuine Nissan Parts :: 300ZX Parts (Z32) 1990-1996 :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

the two parts are 55154e thats on the upright and needs to be a 43052d to fit in my car.

Thanks for info though incase I can't get the diff to fit I know i'll have a good backup plan.

It's the same, I had HICAS Q45 uprights and bought the energy suspension bushing kit for the 300zx and replaced all the bushings including the one where the ball joint was. The ball joint is a PAIN in the A$$ to get out compared to the bushings, but it is the same size........
