~700hp optimal diff ratio for 2jz + cd009 box s-chassis conversion

Hey guys, just wondering what the optimal diff ratio is for ~700hp on a 2jz with a cd009 6 speed transmission ..
As far as I am aware, the longest r200 diff ratio available is 3.69 .. And goes up to 4.3 which I assume would be too short for this application
What are you guys finding the best ratio to be?
The supra fellas are running the standard 3.266 which is much longer than what's available for us =\
I'm just worried that 'short' ratio will rob power / top speed at this power level
Any input is appreciated

You should probably expand your criteria into the R230 or the 350Z diffs. You'll powder the pinion of the R200 in no time with a 2J in front of it.

350z diff is not a bolt up exercise
R230 most likely won't work with my abs n I plan to retain my abs
For now, I'm just curious to see what diff ratios guys are running

I'm well aware it's not a bolt in ordeal, you have to pay to play. If you want shit to last, you'll need to upgrade it. 350Z diffs also have lower FDs than any typical R200.

R230 can easily retain your ABS with. Hell any of these diffs you can retain ABS with, you just have to get creative.

All depends on what you plan on doing with the car, the grip you have, how you drive and what kind of track you race. I had a 4.36 when I was rolling my 5 speed tranny I kept it with the cd008 setup. Been Rolling this setup for 3 years now im far from 700whp im at 350whp coming from a sr20det. I use the car as my daily also track and a bit of drift. Very responsive right now great for drift or track days on shorter circuits your always in the powerband. Longer tracks with this ratio and tranny you lack top speed on long straights. I find right now i shift too often it make the gears shorter and highway cruising at 120km/h I end up at 3600rpm so not the best

Long story short with 700whp id go 3.9 maybe 4.10 with that kind of hp

the 5 speed is well mated with a 4.08 up to about 400whp .. its what i got now with my 5 speed + sr20det with about 450whp and I'm finding it slightly too short .. power and torque play a big roll with final ratios

I found this thread ... and it appears as though I will need to go shorter than 3.5

http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=330704

The issue now is, there's no real 'bolt' up solution for my s15 to go a lower ratio than 3.5 =/

Has anybody done, or seen or knows of a 'bolt' up solution for s14/s15 to run 3.1 or 3.3?

Q45 3.54 or 3.9 diff. I am sure you are well aware of the work required for the setups. I have also seen the Armada/350z but takes some mods like noting above. BabillaRacing did the Armada/350z swap a while ago in his 350z for highway racing mostly down in Flordia.

What I meant was that you can use the q45 rear end - it's not a ton of work; and while you're putting it in select the ratio pinion you want to put inside along with a clutch diff such as OSGiken if you wanted that.

The Q45 rear end is supposed to be good for 800whp.

what transmission?
how much power are you making / what turbo setup do you have?

atm I am only running 235/45/17 but I plan to go 265 or 285/40/18 if I can fit them underneath my guards

I have read up a fair bit about the q45 diff and I am heavily considering it, it sounds like a bolt up affair with no mods required and the shafts can handle more power which is a bonus
Question is, is 3.54 too long for what I plan for my setup lol
I just drove my mates supra the other day, he has the 6 speed 3.2 diff, stock twin turbo setup running higher boost with front mount and exhaust .. that thing drove like a dog ... ratios felt too long for my liking ... however with almost double the output, not sure how much a difference that would make ..

Same with me id love to go q45 diff for the stronger/larger stub shafts but I've never seen aftermarket lsd's for them.
