Question for anyone that has run SS braided lines under the chassis -

I just ordered a bunch of 5/16 SS braided lines to run from the fuel filter/FPR straight to my fuel pump as I trashed the hardlines. How did you guys run them?

The stock brackets that mount to the frame rail might be useful, but could be loose. I wanna hear about what you guys did to keep them secure and run a safe setup.

I self tapered adel clamps (insulated clamps) to the bottom of the car every few feet.

Instead of running braided lines underneath, I went with aluminum 3/8 hardlines with AN conversion fittings, worked awesome.



With these style fittings,


and a Russels -6 AN inline filter.


This was only temporary to get the car going for this year, this winter I'll be keeping the hardlines underneath, but where they come up the firewall I'll be adapting to -6 an braided lines to route to the new fuel rail and regulator.

Nice work, that looks mint. I also have the Russell inline filter, which I was somewhat leery of, but for the price I ran with it. Are you planning on keeping the Russell when you change lines in the bay? Any reservations about running it long term?

Yeah, I'll will basically be re using everything except where I converted it to soft fuel line. I only did that for this year since I was still running a stock fuel rail and regulator.

This winter I will be running braided line from the hardlines to an aftermarket fuel rail and regulator.

And no, I have no reservations about running the Russell long term.

Cool, good to hear. I read conflicting info on the Russell filters, some said they had no issues, but others said they could be problematic. Lots of opinions just like most things, though the people who had actually run them generally had favorable comments. Some people say 50 micron isn't small enough, and you should go with less than 30, while others say if you go too small on filtration size that it can cause problems running ethanol mixes. I'm setting things up to be able to run ethanol in the future, if I want, or if we are forced to by the eco terrorists.
