Would it hurt anything if I take out the pipe that runs from the air filter box to the resonator box? It sounds better and seems to breathe slightly easier above 5500. I know my filter will get dirty quicker, but I'll just replace it with a reusable K&N when the time comes. Is there anything else I should worry about?

Nothing to worry about, most everyone does this. Only thing it will do is suck in more hot air from the engine compartment. It still should help out a little though.

That what I like to see! Suspension first! Your the man!
IMHO, the Cold Air Extension from Injen dosent do that much. It does if its like 30 or below outside, but during the day I think the CAE just hurts performance and sucks up shit it shouldnt into your engine. I would stick with the Injen CAI (why thay call it a CAI i dont know). I think thats what you were think of buying in the first place but I though I would let you know just in case. |

uh huh, and dont forget to take out the resonator too! that thing will let air that gets swallowed up from right under the fog lights (in my s-14) go straight up to ur cone filter or what ever u have there, and in the winter time woo hoo!!! and in the summer, eh, its not that condsiderable a difference but its is better, i wouldnt take mine out in the summer just cuz its hot

I'm doing that b/c I'm still running stock class in AutoX and a catback is allowed in stock (go figure). But when I make the jump to Street Prepared, I'm maxing out the suspension first...then I'll move on to the motor. I haven't decided if I want to get the CAE or just insulate the short ram from the rest of the engine bay....oh well, got a little while to think about it. And nismo, I think I might take out the resonator this weekend or maybe tomorrow. What all is involved in removing it?
