KA24DE cam question.

I was taking the cams off the head and while loosening the main bolts on the front of the cam a small piece ( about 1/4 or less ) of the flange that the bolt screws into chipped off..... Not good I am guessing... Question I have, Is the cam still useable? Will the chipped off piece cause an unbalance? can the remainder be machined off to equal the balance if necessary?
I found some crower stage 2 cams delivered for $477 but I would prefer not to buy them if at all possible.
Thanks
