what size tires look best on 15x7s?
thanks
I'd say stock size - 205/60 I think it is? Maybe a 215. 7 inch wide is not much wider than the stock wheels.

i was thinking 195/60/15? i hate when a tire is too wide for a wheel are stock wheels 6 or 6.5 wide?

ive got 195/60/15 but 205/60/15 doesnt look that bad too.
if i put lower profile tires on my car ill scrape alot more than i do now.

What LOOKS best depends on suspension... Stock height or close, 205/60 fills the fenderwells. Lowered, you can get away with 205/55 or 225/50... tho 225/50 should really go on a 15x7.5 or 15x8.
That's just IMO.
205/55 or 225/50 is probably best for performance. Though the sidewalls of my old 205/60 Yokohama AVS Intermediates were plenty stiff as long as I watched my tire pressures.

i'd go with like a 215/60 if you're on stock suspension but a 215/55 or 215/50 if youve got it lowered
stock sized wheels are 6 and i think the tires are 195s. ive got 6.5 wide wheels with 205/60/15s on a pretty stock suspension (for now), and if the tires were any more low profile, it'd look ridiculous

Whats the purpose of these tires? Just to get some wheels mounted? What are the offsets on wheels? Are you lowered?
If you are lowered and they are something along the lines of 15x7 +0 I'd say get 195-215/50-55s. I had 195/60s on my 15x7 +2s and in the fron tthey fit fine but my coilovers can get an assload of camber in there, and when I put them on the rear before rolling fenders they rubbed like hell. I now run some 205/50s on those wheels. But 50s on 15s might not look right unless you are low as hell.
Deciding b/w 195, 205, 215 depends on use. 205s will prolly look best.

im going to go with simba, 195/50/15, plus tires are cheap, unless you have aero then bump up sidewall

225's look best abd provide the best patch. that's what i have. you could go with 235's and get an even better patch... but that ain't "JDM tyte" nowadays...

well they car is lowered but it's not slammed and i hate when the tire looks too big for the rim so i'm thinking about 195 but i can't decide between 50 and 60 i'll probably do a 195/60/15 the offset of the rims isn't gear but they are cheap so i'll just get some spacers for now

195 is friggin' stupid. Narrow POS. STOCK is 205, don't downgrade!
Yes, I know base models came with 195s... again... BASE models

this is a 60 series on a 15" rim and it looks effing queer:

the owner must be a complete jackass
get 235/50's for the best results. my truck with an open diff used to slip in the rain taking off, just goin from 225 to 235's helped cure that... plus more meat is better...
why doesn't anyone buy tires for traction anymore?

its not like these cars stock are super horsepower machines, and definately arent the best choice for rain/winter driving, save some of that money and buy FF beater

225/50, they look perfect on a 15*7 0 offset wheel, even on stock suspension, though dropped it would be better. Fuck skinny ass 205 and 195 tires, try holding the road with those pieces of shit.

I do it superbly, I have 205/50 azenis on my 15x7 +2 and 195/50s on my 15x7.5 +5 (would have been 205 but they were 60 bucks for 4 ES100s).

im running 195/55/15 in the front.
and 205/55/15 in the rear
you don;t want too much grip or you'll shed more speed off when you're doing the dirty sideways

running 195/50/15 all the way around on 15x7 +17 and 15x7.5 -5
only running 195/50's because the rears rub like crazy on anything. even now it rubs. need to roll my fenders and run a bit more camber. after that, i'll be running 205/50 azenis

I think that when I buy new tires, I'll be going ith a 205/55 on a 6.5" wide rim. Hopefully the new azenis, not sure. and the car lowered of course.

205/50/15 Azenis measure wider than most companies 215s...
To the original poster, put the widest tires you can afford to fit. I would go 225s or 215s. If you can't afford a decent tire in this range, get something in a 205/55 or 205/50. There are a ton of cheap good performing tires in that category.
195 is just plain stupid, no performance benefit whatsoever.

Obviously tires aren't made the same, so you can't just say get 205 blah blah blah and have them all come out the way you think it will. Case in point, I used to have brigdstones on my 7.5j, 205/55. The tires looked cool and performed well, now I have some cheaper tires made by dunlop with the same size and they look like 4x4 tires, and the sidewalls suck ass.
lol, i am gonna mount some 235/50s on some 15x6.5 tommorrow, i will post pics :bigok:
well after many changes 25/50 on a 15x7 is my preference of tire size.. good all around, sidewalls aren't TOOO bad, lotsa contact to the road. doesnt bloon to much either

195/50/15 is what i'm putting on my 15x7.5's.
Should provide a nice increase in steering responce vs. the 205/60's on there now. Less sidewall will make it alot stiffer.

195/50 or 205/50 looks like crap without lowering at least 2 inches. and even then they still look kinda small. aesthetically, i say try to maintain something close to the stock 205/60, like say 225/50.
on the other hand, tire size is limited by the sizes the tire comes is available in, such as falken azenis rt215's only 15in size is 205/50.
i dropped around 2.25 and i am running 225/50s rear on a 15x7 and 195/50 frotn on a 15x6.5... very good handling car
