Okay, so this isn't a which engine is best thread as I've read about 1000 of those, but I've sold my last Honda :naughty: and with the money from that, I'm looking into swapping my KADE for something a bit more interesting than your average 4-cyl. Money isn't the issue, but I'd like to be able to get the engine in the car and running/moving (not necessarily 100% completed swap) in a weekend. I've been looking into the JZ and Gen 3/4 Chevy V8's. The ideal purpose for the car would be a grip/time attach/hill-climb car. I'm mainly looking for the easiest to "drop in" swap. i.e. as little modifications to sheet metal, accessory drives, crossmember, etc, as possible. Any of you guys have some input before i go throwing money on parts? lol

Hmmmmm well, sr20's are really easy to find parts for because it is one of the most common s13 swap, but you won't get much power from a stock srdet, I would suggest a v8
Like the LS motors, but so far I have a sr in my car and it treats me well and satisfys me

Ive heard from a few people locally that they've had non stop electrical issues with their SR's

Sounds like they didn't wire it correctly or bought it already in the car from someone that didn't do it right. Never really heard of inherent electrical problems with SR's other than coil packs getting tired and acting up. Just get a new harness from wiring specialties and save yourself any headaches if you're worried about it. It'll run you about $450. Expensive-ish, but the an SR will still be the cheapest, easiest swap you can do and it'll be plug n play.

As in I see rare parts and want to buy them, always more satisfying than off the shelf parts.
