would it be a bad idea to use and s2000 tranny behind the sr20det with 3.69 rear end ? goal hp is 300 and would be use for dd , no track , not racing , would it help with the mpg the short gears of the s2000 tranny?

The S2000 6 speed trans is definitely not strong enough
They break under hard driving in the stock S2000
If youre after a sick 6 speed platform
We have a Nismo Crossmesh 6 speed S15 Gearbox
Or you can go with a Z32 swap transmission

thanks , but the nismo its pretty expensive and i think they rated to 289 , while i've read the s2000 can take close to 400hp which im not planning on reach

If you just want something for a better gas mileage, run a different final gear/pinion in the diff.

thats what im doing with the 3.69 although i could go with 3.54 ,but my question its about the effect from the difference between the s15 6 speed ratios and the s2000 ratios
