Hey guys, my buddy picked up a 93 240sx that he is swapping a SR20det into, so he gave me his old KA with rod knock. I have built a few v8s but never a 4 cylinder so feel free to chime and help me out.

Allot of these parts will be for sale so PM me if interested, I plan on rebuilding the motor and selling it.

Parts List:
-Sealed Power Chromoly Rings
-King Bearings
-ARP Main Studs
-ARP Rod Studs(if I can find them)
-New oil Pump
-New Gaskets
-Timing Chain, guides and tensioners
-Water Pump
-Valve Job
-ARP Head Studs

Yeah I am gonna clean up the pistons and have the ARP's installed in the rods. Unless the block needs to be bored i might consider pistons and H beams. I am not sure how much I am gonna ask for it when its back together.

Is there a good market for fresh KA's? I figure some one would want it to drop in there 240 or something.

its a fair market for them. its not like and sr or rb but its ok...and just like with any motor the more you have done to it the better esp if you have paper work on it. hell my ka-t is sitting at 400 with stock rods and arp bolts glad you are doing that. makes it a lot more dependable

Yeah I plan on keeping all the reciepts and pics.

And not only do I wanna do it right because its the way I like to do things I want to make sure the new owner is happy and knows the work was done correctly and good parts were used.

How much was it to have your rods resized for the ARP's?

I am pretty sure they were direct replacement but don't hold me to that

King has been making race bearings for years now and sealed power is just a branch of federal mogul. Basic Stuff, nothing crazy.

52 bucks? nice!

Called the machine shop today, 50 bucks to install the ARP's and resize rods, 100 bucks to hot tank the bead blast the block, and 50 bucks for a hone. Gonna have to mic the crank to see how much damage is done there.

Exedy is a good clutch. as long you dont have hot spots on the pressure plate which im pretty sure it wont, you should be fine.

swap out the intake for a s14 one, and eliminate your emissions crap

www.240SXTECHDVDS.org Home Page (http://www.240sxtechdvds.org) has a video that will show you everything you need to do. The s14 intake is better being it doesn't have the plunger setup.

Generally there is a waiting period for new members before being allowed to post any classified ads on here. If you go into the rules and guidelines it states how long. You should definately search around for things like this because there are some members on here that will get their panties in a wad for asking questions like this. Hope this info helps out though!

I saw it and nice with explanations. So did you replace the intake & exhaust valves, because I am doing a rebuild soon, and I don't really wanna buy 16 valves.
Thanks
