OK I'm ready to start this thing.. i'm picking up my lip tomorrow.. i sould be receiving a super mint condition lip. then i will be getting started on this awesome project.

they will be made just like my valances are with attention to all the small details and not rushed. all these lips will be ready for paint out of the box.. just scuff and paint.. just like any good product should be.

the lips i will be making will be lower about 1" lower than oem (i will be hearing and taking input before i start)

once the tech section is open i will post the build thread on the valances to show how in detail i went.

i think the oem flows perfect with the oem aero.. it just lacks that visual impression of a lowered lip..

Oh well, seems like there has been a lot of suicidal deer lately and I'd hate to have it freshly painted just to have one eff up my car. Here is a quick pic of what I imagine it should look like vs stock. Not too extreme but just bring the front of the lip down an inch or so to match the lines. Adrian, what do you think?

i don't see a problem with the lip coming off .. the greddy has a problem with blowing up on any impact with any object. i will try my best on making this lip as strong as possible

I tried to do my best, Adrian, but there still is a little droop in the middle of the lip and I dropped the side a hair but still couldn't get it quite right and it's lowered more like 1 1/4 - 1 1/2" in the front.

If you compare the pics you can see that I dropped the side of the lip down about 1/2-3/4" so it will flow with the sideskirt better, you just cant see the sideskirt.....

Adrian and I have been in contact about the photo rendering of this lip and with his description and communication between us this is the result. An actual production peice would be nice to make a definitive choice but from his description of the lip and from having purchased his valances, I personally have no problem giving a deposit on this. I just offered to help him out and there is nothing that I feel that would get "ugly".

yup i just followed the OEM lip lines underneath, so even that way is better than the OEM height already . if u can retain the overall shape and pretty much just extend an inch of material in between, itll look tits . OEM but better kinda way:D

The truth of the matter is if you get 10 people in the group buy I know for a fact you will be able to sell atleast 20 lips if it wasnt for a group buy/wait. So just a heads up make more then just 10 lol

the whole reason for this group buy is to help me fund the molding process. i can fund this whole thing myself. and i don't have to do a group buy at all. but i see people here that trust my judgement and the quality of my products. they trust me so with risk comes reward in form of a discount.. if you would like to wait for the finish product.. by all means. please follow the thread.

yeah it's my greddy lip.......i know i know.....i ordered ANOTHER one. lol. only reason i did though is because insurance is covering it. Frickin racoon or something on the 8 freeway obliterated the last one beyond repair. Yay for full coverage.

Still wanna get this lip and oem aero though. It'll be nice to switch between the two.

Had a mini road trip to oxnard and dropped these bad boys off today as you could see gunmetalr32 was happy to recieve them. Seing the kouki valances in person i can assure anyone that his work is imaculate makes my brand new oem valences look like a used part. I cant wait to receive the lip when hes done.

the side skirts that were brought to me are the JDM s14 KOUKI (it was a factory option) they are a little different from the JDM zenki/navan sides. the kouki ones are a little more aggressive they come out a little more to match the kouki valances better

update:
things have been a little hectic at the shop. the new shop is 2x as big and the spray section had to be made in the new shop, cleaning organizing, and catching up on orders mine, mustang parts, camaro ss parts, air plane parts, custom parts, ect.. now it's moving a long. we are buckling down and working on getting these navan side skirts done and moving along on the lip. i know everyone has been very patient and i thank you guys.. i assure you it will be worth the wait..

alright guys.. the initial plan was to order the lips from a friend and he would bring them back in his shipment among some other goodies.. but his container got delayed and once it arrived the lips were not in the 1st container. they will arrive in the next container. once the container landed it was held in customs with no eta of release.

all this time i am still looking for a clean lip even though i have 2 lips coming. i found a few but i rejected them due to them being cut for a front mount intercooler (i need it uncut for people not running turbo), warped, cracked deep gashes, broken, twisted (i need it in the mounted relaxed position)

This is exactly the problem, too many people that want but are too tight to put forward some money to help with production (and seller fees :rolleyes:).


The problem is he took on too many projects at once and got backed up...

Furthermore, it's not a problem of funds. In NOVEMBER, he said it would be ready in January, then it got pushed to March then whatever else after that....and here we are in June and there is still no product. People are fine with waiting, but they started getting irritated when they stopped getting updates on a regular basis and then it'd take several members asking and complaining before one of his friends, like yourself, would come on here and shed some light on the situation.

I'm not saying he's shady or anything. I know he's not. Life happens. We get it. But when you've got people's money and they're waiting on a product, the least you can do is give them updates regularly. That didn't happen.

Personally, i had a feeling from the get go that this thing wasn't going to get finished by the original ETA.....and i was right. Drop 100 bucks on a part that i have no clue when it will arrive just to get the "hook up" price? Umm no thanks. It's not that serious. I have no problem paying extra money when there's an actual product in hand. When i want something, i buy it and when the time comes, i'll do just that.

It looks like you guys have a good grasp on how to replicate the lip. As for professionalism i think you guys have some work to do.

Update: The lip was test fitted this week and it had to go back to the table for some tweaking on the shape of the transition from the side profile to the front.

I actually have the real OEM abs plastic lip on my car already, i joined the group buy just to have a spare lip. But I have a current project that needs more attention and cash at the moment , so every dollar counts . But who knows , maybe I'll scoop one later on when I have some spare cash .

Exactly, Used n beat up still around 400, f that. His rear valances n side skirts are all well made. I'm waiting for the lip to complete my jdm aero.

Just a little more sanding and rounding over of the sharp lines to make sure it's all straight clean and symmetrical, then it will be into the molding process. It is getting very close to production time!!!

That's all the pics I have currently, sorry, I'll try to get it though.

Don't have any detailed pics of the mounting points but it will be a mix of body tape and screws. It will come with all hardware necessary and is designed to be mounted without drilling holes in the face side of the bumper, unlike the oem lip that requires the holes.

The sideskirts have been taken back off the car an it's in the body shop, so there are no full on side shots available right now. But I do have these pics that show the side profile comparison, please note that the lip is still not ready for the mold and is rough in the first pic and still needs some sanding/tweaking in the second pic.
