I am running out of things to replace. My SR20 will not turn over. There is a click, the fuel pump comes on. I'm getting 12V to the starter. The car use to start every once in awhile. I checked the alternator and it's at 13V. The ground wires and power wires looked bad so I ran brand new 4 guage wire strait from the battery and ground and I replaced the ground wire from the intake manni to the battery tray. I also grind the connections to fresh bare metal. I replace the battery and ignition switch. I have 3 used starters I tried and they all tested fine at Autozone. No blowns fuses. I have one new relay switch I have swapped out with all the other relays. Why won't this POS turn over? Should I still try a new starter any ways? I was thinking about attaching a wire where the switch plugges in on the starter and touching it to the battery to see if the starter comes alive.:rl:

All I can say is push start it to see if it will actually run, then do from there.

The clutch saftey switch has been removed and disabled for a long time. I thought the ignitor chip just did the spark? My wires I removed from the car were green with corrosion. I feel there is a bad wire some where. I will try swapping out the ignitor chip. I have buddy I can swap parts from his car for trouble shooting purposes. Thanks for the unput. As for the wire that slips off, I soddered on the on from the K24 harness and it stays on pretty tiight. I did check that.

Can you turn the motor over by hand? Seized engine?

If your starter clicks its getting signal. So your electrical is fine.

I would check to see if the engine still turns manually ,

push start it first, as was suggested, to make sure it runs, then go from there.

I know the engine is good. It wouldn't push start. I dunno if we weren't pushing fast enough or what. Could a bad wire some where cause this?

first thing you should check is the ground on the starter. Then the grounds to the motor. then fuses and other sketch shit. Also download your motors fsm from the internet and it will show you how to properly troubleshoot and all the devices on the car associated with the starter. you gotta be going at a decent speed to bump start.

The motor feels smooth as butter when I turn it by hand. Another thing that might have effected the battery I noticed the battery was shorting out on the hood so today I moved it back to the trunk. There was a hole the size of a nickel caused by the battery touching the hood. I wonder if that could have damaged some thing. Have not got to try the ignitor pack yet. Still waiting on my buddy to bring that by. When I get more time I will go through FSM. I probably should have bit the bullet and done that in the first place. Great stuff gentle men.

also the ign switch can do this
if motor turns over by hand then
ur not getting strong enough start signal to stater
jump it with a wire from heavy wire on starter if it cranks
it maybe ur switch
my car does this from time to time
i just keep clicking switch till it cranks
works every time
