Hey guys - I need to pick your brain.

I have the option of re-assembling my sr20 with the stock 8.5:1 pistons with new rings, or tossing in a set of 9.5:1 SR20DE pistons with new rings from a FWD sr20 I have in the shop. Are they made of different alloys? Any differences other then having to notch them for the oil squirters?

I really like the idea of a faster spool, and more "get up and go" of the higher compression number.

Thoughts?

The NA pistons are only 9:1. They are also weaker and you'll have to notch them out for the oil squirters like you mentioned.

the sr20de pistons are really not meant for turbo applications thats why they made det different ???

The sr20de ring lan grooves are not as thick and the rings are thinner than det's by a goodbit
