Alrite well I haven't been on the 240 scene for too long so before I purchase this one, I wanted to see what others think it's worth.

1993 Nissan 240sx coupe 5 speed clean (http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/1242513660.html)

I appreciate any and all the input, thanks guys.

Ha ha ha, mugen wheels lol... but seriously the question is are you willing to pay 3900 for a prettymuch stock 240 thats clean ill give it that but idk you can get a stock s14 for that price imo...

i wouldnt pay that

wannabdr1ftr
07-02-2009, 10:23 AM
i would ask him whats the lowest he'll go because for that price you would be able to find a 240 with a SR swap

i got my 93 coupe in a fairly clean state w/ sr and a few upgrades including a gt2876r for 4k. And the a/c doesn't even work on that thing. You can do better for 4k or ask him to go lower.

So glad I made this thread...Ok so I offered him 2900. He said 3500. I agree with the comment about being able to find sr's and s14's for around the same price, but around Chicago, it's a little tougher. Maybe I could get him down to 3300, but I'm not sure.

Here's the other 240 I'm looking at.

waaay overpriced. I wouldn't pay over $2000 for a stock 240. maybe an s14, but not an s13.

btw, just to let you know, a silvia front end runs at around $700...

i got my sr hatch for 3900. and i live in an area where stock 240's go for 4k or more.

keep shopping dude

Even 2900's still kind of steep for a clean stock coupe...tell him to keep the rims (even though they have re01's) and take 2500 only becuase the framerails are fresh.

here is an idea of what i payed for my s14, its a 1995 SE, auto 153,000 when i bought it, VLSD, Nismo Coilovers(s-tune), it is a pretty clean chassis and i payed 4500 for my car, idk who ever buys that s13 is getting hosed, my first 2 240's 1989 hatch and 1990 hatch i payed 2000 for the 1990 and 2200 for the 1989(old lady owned very clean)

I never post on these things, but this whole time I thought it was an S14. I would not pay that much for a S13. Good luck with whatever you choose.

The frame rails look wierd on that thing. Is that the undercoat that they used on it. It almost looks like they put paste on it everywhere you can see a little line. You should ask him if the fame rail were repaired once before?

drift tax in chicago is freaking insane, i paid 2800 for my mostly stock 240. your not really gunna find em cheaper around here unless you want a car that was beat to shit or a roller

When i bought mine. The guy wanted $3500 for my 93 hatch, cleanest hatch i've ever seen where everything was basically in mint condition, except the seat, with only 120k. I offered him $2500 cash the next day and he took the deal. I am very happy now...

exactly man, that car seems pretty damn clean EXSPECIALLY for the MIDWEST where EVERYTHING RUST'S.

call him up, say you want to look at it, and bring $2,800 - $3,000 CASH with you and i bet you will go home with a new car.

i would say that's a fair price for a CLEAN coupe where it's at, most of the people who have responded don't know what RUST is.

i paid a tad over 6k for my 95 SC300 w/ 95k on the odo. this piece of shit has bald tires, broken AC, and bullshit suspension/wheels... for 4k? get the fuck outta here.

its a fucking 240SX and it doesnt even operate 100%. at least my SC was in fully operable condition. tell that fuck face of an owner to come here so that we can remind him how stupid he's being for trying to sell a 2000 dollar car for 4k.

fucking asshole, piss me off when im eating this badassed breakfast burrito.

makes you wonder if he is hiding anything under that new paint...

frame is tweaked, hood doesnt fit well, i arleady saw it in person.

wrote down the VIN did a search and it was in 2 accidents.

frame rail right where it bends up towards the motor was patched with putty, (somethin like bondo i guess). its flat, doesnt have that rough surface, and the framerail looks "Fresh" as stated above because it was repainted/resprayed

stay awayzzzz.

EDIT: if the car hasnt sold its probably still at the U-haul on S.27th in oak creek.

just my view. go ahead if you want

Its not even 5 lug with upgraded brakes. Stupid rims. How about upgrading those seats to at least 180sx seats or something newer. I'd bargain to $2000 if its really "clean" and there are no hidden surprises.

I thought the same exact thing!

Thanks, Driven. I guess if the car was worth it you would've already bought it lol. Alrite I'll keep shopping, maybe I should jus invest in a trip to texas or something to find a nice 240.

Psssh I paid $4,500 including fees for my mint hatch with a freshly rebuilt sr. Not a spec of rust anywhere on the car, god that thing was immaculate when i got it. I'd keep shopping or try and get him down to around $2,500 or maybe a little lower and tell him to keep the honda wheels.

only reason I paid 3k for my s13 was because it had fresh interior, mods, but most of all it had 67k miles on it

the car seems to have a clean body but idk if thats original paint though? but interior also looks clean & he said hud works thats a PLUS & it has a clean dash & thats hard to come around these days....but i would offer him like $2700 b/c it's a 92 u dont see alot of people with 92's & it's an SE model & it already has a 5speed thats a big PLUS!! but the mugen wheels are a magor FAILLLLL i would sell asap!!!

zenki.life

not worth it at all. the car itself i would pay 1500 for. and that does include his "extras" what people do not understand is that a car is not like a house. it depreciates greatly in value and people should not expect to get what they put into it. that is why people overprice their 240's. and i doubt those are mugen rims. they look like circuit 8's from ROTA!

looks clean, i wouldnt pay that much for it but if you can talk him down it could be worth while, ive got a buddy selling an rb20 s13 with fresh paint for 3800 so its all a matter of perspective

Yeah that frame rail looks like it has a ton of bondo on it.
I would say pass. I'm very picky when it comes to rust and bondo.
I would pay no more than $2000 for it. And that's probably too much considering the frame has been tweaked and its not straight.

here is a pic of mine for comparison:

ive been restoring my undercarriage, no accidents just a bit mashed up from being raised incorrectly by the previous owner

his framerail looks like its been damaged.

he said he's gonna keep looking, you guys dont have to say keep shopping, he's not buying it

that car would be worth $1100 in my book, why? because if the frame isn't straight, and that thing rolls or gets t-boned, : omfg :

the under frame rails look like its been damaged, it doesnt look even at all. thats why he tried to restore them. u should bring someone that knows cars if u cant do it and negotiate for a lower price. Im sure he will let it go for 2900 atleast!!! 3900 and u can get a clean nice stock S14. imo.

and it def. was repainted or atleast part of the engine bay was or something in the front of the car. you can see where they masked off the strut towers. Compare that color to the rest of the engine bay and the underside of the hood.

wow i remember when that was a good price for s13s.. b4 the bandwagon came in and everyone wants em cheap lol.

anyways. it looks clean, but a thread asking if its worth the value, you will always get its overpriced. The only way to determine that is if you look at it in person, with the mindset that you are looking at a car that is over 10 years old so dont expect it not to be used, or even abused.

I wouldnt buy it, let someone else come along and pick this up and enjoy it without any doubts in their head as to weather they should have got it or not. just my .02.
