i've thought about this before, doing rear overfenders and just modifing them to fit on the rear... but i was thinking more along a s13 (alot more similar to the s15)... but i'm sure i wouldnt have the ambition to get it to look good and fit right

but yeah... your best bet would be overfenders imo

the amount of work and trouble you will do to make an s14 look like an s15 will cost you as much as it costs to import and legalize a s15...

But, I must ask... Why do you want to convert a s14 to a s15?????

full S15 conversion is such a waste of money, but hey thats just my opinion

You can make an S14 look just as clean as an S15. And you will get more props by your peers for doing an S14 right over doing a conversion.

Gimme Your S14 Front End!!! Why waste a perfectly good headlights for some plastic S15 ones??? As far as the rears go, have fun finding a body shop who would be willing to do that conversion, its not a regular run of the mill conversion. Alot of cutting, welding and bondo to even make it not look like a complete ass. The last S15 rear end conversion Ive seen in norcal failed misearably at it...

Well, there is a 180 with metla s15 fenders welded into it.
i will see if i can get a pic later this weekend

watevers floats his boat. and it shouldnt cost as much to do.

lay the widebody cut up the rear to make the tails fit section the trunk then fiber glass teh whole rear. and your got s15 rear.

seems kinda of intresting.
i know theres no point of doing this but this might bring in some cool points.

if this guy wants his s14 to look like a s15 let him do so.

02-07-2008, 01:23 AM
^^^WOW, you made it sound so fucking simple...sure cutting metal and laying bondo/fiberglass is easy but making shit line up and making it look flawless is another thing. That part is what makes it cost so damn fucking much...

Sure youre right, its ultimately his car. He could potentially make it work and not make the car look like utter shit. But to me, I appreciate the rarity of a true S14 kouki. If he screws the conversion up and hacks up the rear, thats 1 less clean S14 on the road...And again, I HAVE YET TO SEE A CLEAN ONE DONE PROPERLY. Again, if he pulls it off, props to him, but the chance of that is against him...

02-07-2008, 01:46 AM
Well, we have to give out 2 cents before he ruins a perfectly good S14. Because
it's a 50/50 bet that he will resell the car for a newer obsession within six months. I am kidding. I had a couple glasses of wine... so i am going to drag my ass to bed nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwww.:Ownedd:

Mmm.

Since you're in the bay.

Let me know how much you'll sell your kouki parts for.

honestly id just feel like it would be a whole lot of

"o shit! check out that S15, OMG!.......wait...wtf?.....steering wheel is on the left side?....awwww wtf?...FAIL!

or

- "hey man is that an S15???"

-"nah its a 240...i did a conversion"

-".......oo....well alright.. later"

and yes as ppl said probably a shit load of money to make look clean, I can only recall seeing a handfull of converted s15s, most s13.5s since the body lines are closer..never seen a full s14.5 that i can recall, and IMO it would have to be an overall badass car to pull it off, s14.5 with stock ka/sr would be serious failtown

02-07-2008, 07:41 AM
at least do it to some ragged 95, not a kouki.

fyi - 99% of s15 rear conversions look like complete ass. I expect yours will too.

Why waste the money/time on making a S14 look like a S15 when you can just import one for that much. It'll take a LOT of work to convert the rear end...

...good luck man. You're gonna need it.

02-07-2008, 08:16 AM
Just stick with the S15 front if the S15 is what you desire. That's the end that makes the S15 the car that it is. I just don't see it being worth a ton of money and time for some very normal looking tails.

Shiatsu's widebody S15 conversion thread
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=125717&highlight=shiatsu+s15

everybody is hatin but you do what you wanna do. this is how its done right.

yeah its not an S14 but you get the idea.

i don't care how much money you spend on trying to make an s14 looks like an s15, it's never gonna look right. the dimensions of the s14 are larger all around and the roof line will never be the same.

if you are obsessed with the looks of an s15, why not just get one? theres one for sale 5 minutes from me, legalized ready to drive.

How much do S15s go for stateside? Say a completely stock one that is not legalized or anything?

blueshark123
02-07-2008, 09:38 AM
^I know I could have gotten a s15 for 21k spec-r non legalized

aa87
02-07-2008, 09:56 AM
In the end it will still be an s14.

I guarantee no matter how much body work you pull, it will still not have the aesthetics of an s15, there are so many factors that you might as well stick with s14 stuff. The roofline will look god awful along with the shapes and lines of the side and rear windows.

its a fail fail situation if you try.

mmm good feedbacks but i got money to blow. I would buy a s15 but cant legalize it in cali or nevada so there no point but to go with the s14.5 oh and the body kit i got is the gp sports.

the real question can you pull it off..... soo i got pplz workin on the front in las vegas and doin the rest in da bay as soon as i get the rear fenders im set.

In my opinion your car is what it is no matter how much "conversion" you do to it. A 240sx will NEVER be a silvia, it's just a 240sx with a janky RHD conversion and a motorswap (not that there is anything really special about a silvia). Your s-14 will always be an s-14 no matter what bodywork you put on it! Why deny it? If you want an s-15, buy an s-15. The bodywork will almost certainly not come out as good as expected as it is extremely difficult. When that happens all you have left is a hacked up s-14 that is essentially ruined.

If you have "money to blow" wouldn't you want to spend it on something else other than that?

But true whatever floats your boat. Be sure to post up the kouki parts when you decide to get rid of it :D

If u got $ to burn go buy a Tomei crate motor. That will put a dent in anyone's wallet. If you still have more, go order some baller ass parts that no one has. Please don't turn that kouki into a hacked up 90s honda civic.

How about... Save ur s14.. order a s15 from japan for 10-15k .. then when you got it.. swap vins.. crush ur s14 and throw it away.. there you go .. s15 conversion hahahahahhaahaha.

ByeByeSti
02-08-2008, 02:37 PM
ouch there will be no crushing of any s-chassis there vodka haha. heres how i put it if your extremely patient+ have very deep pockets+ are very good at this kind of fabbing+ body work then go for it. but make sure you do it right for one, and have a badass motor under the hood. ls thats turbo'd or rb26dett, or 2jz no sr or ka-t

So far this is the cleanest S15 conversion I've seen, good luck trying to even come close.

To get an oem nissan the whole rear quarterpanel is mad expensive. I know on the kure car they bought some from some people who had em from the tokyo drift cars. Mad expensive tho

a simple-er conversion would be S13 to R32.. its been done..
every now and then someone on ebay will sell the R32 front end, headlights hood fenders bumper... and the rear end tail lights and rear bumper..

Ive seen the swap done before and it can be really dam clean when done to a coupe.. provided you can make the rear quarter panal fenders look skyline ish. Probably easy too, get some rear over fenders and cut them in half, mold em in so you get the blister crease look.

I would love to do one to a vert would be pretty cool street car.

sell your 97, buy a 95.
I can't stand people buying 97 and 98 and molesting it.
find a front end damaged s15 spec s with no motor.
swap EVERYTHING over including the door, roof, all glass, body panels.
just measure the distance between the door and rear wheel, you'll see the length is different
good luck it'll be more then the cost of your 97.
remember anything is possible just who's dumb enough to spend the money.
