Chicago-land October All Nissan BBQ

theDriven.org will be having another All Nissan Meet / BBQ in the month of October. Details are sketchy right now, but here is what the plan is....

Multiple grills (so I don't have to grill all the freakin' food)
Volleyball (or some kind of outdoor sports)
Car Show (could have a competition if we want)
Raffle with multiple prizes (minimal cost to enter raffle)
etc.

Date: October 12th
Time: 12PM till we get kicked out of the preserve
Location: Busse Woods South

This event is over a month away so if you have to request days off from work, do it now!! We have always had good turn outs from the Sentra and Maxima crews and I would like to see the 240s get in on this. I'll have more info once we get closer, but if you have questions please feel free to email me or post on here. Thanks!

That's true we had discussed holding these events on Sunday.  However, for the last couple of events (June, July and August) we have had great turn-outs.  

June: 20-30 cars Sunday
July: 50-60 cars Saturday
August: 20-30 cars Saturday

Thus far there has been no difference in attendance from Saturday to Sunday. &nbsp;However most people prefer a Saturday, so that they can have Sunday off to relax. &nbsp;Plus with football season coming up, I won't be much into looking at cars while the Bears are on. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

There is this guy around here with a nice white TT Z32 with exhaust and some other shit, but don't know him only where he lives, maybe I'll leave a not on the car or something. We have always been lacking Zs.

Car Show is a go!! &nbsp;The prize for being voted the best 240 will be to have 6-10 high quality photos taken of your car and they will be featured on thedriven.org along with the other class winners.

Alright....for all of you that are confused by my maps and such, here are the directions!!!

From the little star on my maps.....

Head west on Higgins.
Go under pedestrian overpass
Turn left into preserve entrance
Go all the way to the back.
Follow the instructions of one of the volunteers and park your car.
Get out and have a good time!

its very easy to get to, all you have to do is enter Busse Woods. If you enter on the side with a bridge above it then you are heading west, turn left on the first entrance, and go all the way down.

If you enter on the side that has no bridge over it, then go to the end (where you see the next north - south road and turn right while still in the preserve.

Only problem was the last meet when they didn't reserve the place and it took me liek 10 minutes to find the place, but look for the man with the grill, and you'll see a bunch of maximas, cuz they come bright and early.


This meet is turning out to be one of the best, you guys should plan for a big meet next year where you go AutoX or drag strip or road america or sumin. But keep the monthly meets.

i talked to the girl with the green 95 &nbsp;but she said she was more into modifiying her civic and even more so that she was more into the looks part of it not "performance".

The meet was fun. &nbsp;I still have yet to really meet a maxima owner I've liked. &nbsp;A bigass 240 meet would probably have been more fun, but it was a good time none the less. &nbsp;But then I wouldn't have sat in a 350Z <drool>

I'm still kind of surprised I didn't win best 240. &nbsp;Oh well. &nbsp;The S14a and I had pretty much the same mods, mine was cleaner, his was rarer so it could have gone either way. &nbsp;Cool meeting you Evil S14. &nbsp;The chick in the S14b was kind of lame. &nbsp;She's got a friend who does all her mods for her and apparently she doesn't watch since she didn't know jack about them.

In any case, a fun time, though I'm surprised there wasn't a better 240 turn out. &nbsp;Next year I want to get a meet on the lakefront so be ready.

Kid- The lights were a self install. &nbsp;Pretty easy. &nbsp;About a thee hour job. &nbsp;It's all a direct bolt up affair, aside from the wires which must be spliced.

I agree with the need for more meets. You just have the hang with the right people!
