Forged Bottom End
What's up guys just wondering how I would check my Rod's and pistons easily? Blacktop Sr20det, I was told they were forged eagle/cp ask tomei cams. I have confirmed the cams but I need to determine the bottom end? Can I just pull the oil pan to take a look or maybe look through the spark plug holes for stamped? Any help would be appreciated!

No to be a dick, but a lot of questions you have asked could have easily been answered if you just spent the time with a FSM.....or a search engine
This is not one of those questions however. If you want to confirm what is in your engine, you need to pull the pan or tear it down. You can use a colored boroscope or some optics for example to get into the spark plug hole (but that can only tell you so much as if the vendor decides to not put any identifiers on the piston, you are SOL) Either way, you still would have no idea what rods, bearings, machine work, wrist pins etc is done, which his much more important than some numbers on a piston. FTMFW. Seriously Either way, if it blows up or not, you will be pulling the engine down to determine what exactly is "forged"........ So crank it up and sail. |

You are right I talk to the previous owner and he said he had a big too mount turbo setup but you can't trust that. That's why I'm wanting to figure it out. But it really doesn't make since about why he would put a stick maf/injections back on it. |

The baffle is connected to the upper pan, but you do not have to remove the upper pan to get to the baffle.
The order of removal -------------> Lower Pan--------> Baffle------------> Oil Pickup----------> Upper Pan Just do the first two. |
