S14 Rear brake hardline problem
Hey guys, I don't really post much but I have a problem and I need help before I screw it up more.
I have my whole rear suspension removed and the chassis stripped for paint. I am doing a front R33 brake swap and z32 in the rear. I was trying to attach my new conversion lines in the rear but the nut stripped. I tried soaking in pb blaster and using a propane torch and the nut just stripped. Can anyone help me on removing that stripped nut? Any suggestions? When I bought my z32 rear calipers, the seller kindly included the stock hardline from the 300zx. Maybe if I can remove the nut from the "splitter" in the first picture, I can reinstall with the new one shown here |

You're better off taking some measurements and replacing that line with something from autozone. If not, order the replacement line through Nissan. You will not be able to "reuse" the nuts off one line on another without cutting both lines to remove each nut.
Next time, before you do anything with hardlines, spray them with some penetration oil and let it soak. Also, make sure you are using LINE wrenches. They are designed for this specific purpose.

You're tellin me man, every problem I try to solve brings 5 more. I will be buying that hardline though, just so I can HAZ OEM JDM FOGLIGHTZZZZZ So, I went out and bought this Now I have 2 "Rounded rear NUTS" (Hardy Har Har Herpaderp But I managed to disconnect them here without any issue. I don't understand how the came off so easy at the "splitter" but whatever. New stock lines should fix everything. My original idea was to reuse the z32 line but there was a huge flaw with that idea. The stuff does actually screw in properly so NYAH On a side note, I think I have 2 Drivers side z32 brakes In the morning I plan on calling to check stock on factory hardlines. Thanks for the assistance guys, it's much appreciated. |
