It seems that the leak has indeed been fixed, or at least slowed to a minimal rate. I used a longer bolt in place of the OEM one, torqued it as much as I felt was safe and prayed it would work. honestly I am surprised and probably lucky its working out.

Simply measure the depth of the hole and buy a bolt accordingly, it's not rocket science.
What's going on with this build anyway Kouki? Where are the burn outs?

I am trying to get ahold of Martin(Enthalpy) to get a tune done. We have exchanged a few emails but it is a very slow process. So I hope to do it soon and then hope things don't blow up upon doing said burning of the tires. ps: someone help me get a job doing cool car stuff for lots of monies. |

************UPDATE Damn, it has been a while. lets be clear - this update is boring I left of that school had me super busy and I was hoping to tune the car soon (over the summer) and have some fun driving it. So I did get the car on the dyno and the results were far from satisfactory. If you have read the whole build you will recall mention of low vacuum issues and trying to track them. This has been an ongoing issue. Many phone conversations/discussions with people who have plenty of SR knowledge left me without an answer as to why. Well the final straw was seeing that it wasn't just a vac issue, but an issue in the reverse sense of lack in power. Being that its my nature to need a real answer...I pulled the motor and tore it down with hopes of finding something to shed light on the issue. Fast forward...motor is out and I see zero evidence of anything wrong. I did every test you could possibly think of before removing it to no avail. I am completely stumped. So I decided (financially) the best thing to do was take this opportunity to fix any issues. I cant say there really were any since I hardly drove the damn thing, but in the 1-2 years since I had done some of the work I learned more and saw areas that could use improving. The motor....nothing special to see. I made a 'power brace' with some tube i snagged from the local metal supply Then I started thinking about paint, I had some spots that really didnt look so great and the paint was starting get really dirty looking being that it was flat. So I got set up with some single stage glass urethane and proceeded to completely fuck it up.(thats a trend with my build, gotta learn somehow) good thing this isnt a show car because up close it really doesnt look good.. damn this picture is nothing but lies! After that I tackled the engine bay wiring, since i had been learning a bunch about it since my first go. got some adhesive line heat shrink and braided loom to make it happen. first a coilpack harness Then this DT plug to connect "front chassis" harness to "main body" harness - damn these plugs are sweet no need to relocate the fender harness when its running down the frame rail (fucking orange peel galore) At this point im getting another short block together in hopes it will finally work out. The car is in storage 200 miles from where I live and I havent seen it in months. The process of job searching/moving is not going to let much happen. If you wanna see more 'regular' updates follow my instagram: tw0nn for some behind the scenes stuff

Thanks guys! ************Update I have been plugging away at a new power plant. So far its moving along smoothly. I made a tool to ensure the rings were completely flat in the bore for proper gapping - it worked like a charm. Had Mazworx sandblast this beauty - Too bad I dont have a before pic to show how dirty it really was. So that is where I am at now. Have a few other small things in the works, but Ive got plenty to sort out before I am up and running again. Stay tuned!

thanks man. I have used that method before, though I always seem to get slightly carried away with small details and love to make tools.

Well, it's been a while.
2015 - I got the car running and had some fun just street driving it 2016 - I started losing interest but drove it on a few nice days that year 2017 - never even looked at the car once 2018 - Interest has returned So I decided to tackle the wiring, round 2. It was something I just wasn't pleased with and learned a lot since the first go around. Here's a few pics from 2015? Maybe I'll keep up with this thread for a while. Thanks man, like damn near everything I do...third iteration finally comes out good enough.
I've debated parting the car out many times and starting a new project, so I can do it better with everything I've learned on this one. But I keep coming back and just re-doing shit. it's like I've built this car two or three times but keeps me learning. here are some other pics. Got the filter into the wheel well. yea, not so good for rain but I never drive the car so whatever. Haven't taken many pics since I didn't plan on coming back here lol mockup where my fuse panel will go IMG_9750 by Koukimonsta, on Flickr starting the panel itself. Nice filter cover, looks clean. I have mine in a similar location with just a wet sock over it, but again California never rains. I'd Interested if you ever wanna make another.

I doubt the car will be much cooler than it was 4 years ago, but it will be 'better'. Mostly just the little things that don't look cool and don't get you internet fame..I just enjoy doing stuff to the best of my abilities.

Subtle details matter the most. And making/doing your own mods (if they're done in a good manner and properly) is always going to be cooler than buying off the shelf product.

Fail State? I was expecting some Cali content - Disappointed.
But... then I saw the build, Looks great. Love the modified OEM exhaust manifold. Did you get it extruded honed? |

No extrude honing here. I've never been one to chase HP, so I cut some corners on stuff like that. The car is running now. Missed a few things with the wiring, but over all turned out well. EDIT: Some other thoughts some of you may find interested. I am running OEM HG and head bolts. Curious how it will pan out..I am an engineer by trade and have a clear understand of the testing that OEM's do vs testing aftermarket parts companies do [hint: none] So I VERY much prefer keep some stuff factory. I also am running M10 hardware for the Turbo + Exhaust Manifold connection. And I am NOT running a gasket. I machined the surfaces and used some copper RTV.. I sorted that out a couple years ago actually, before I let the car start collecting dust...don't even remember the exact details of what I did. Let's see what happens! I would really like to get a recirc setup for the BOV, but dont have TIG access anymore and part of me is tired of dumping money into it. really need to sort out where to get the thing aligned so i can start actually driving it a bit more.
