Cracked turbo elbow problem

Lately my car has been running rich and having crazy idle so yesterday I check for any vacuum leaks or boost leaks and I find out MY TURBO ELBOW IS CRACKED can this be the cause of running rich rough idle and my speed odometer going crazy I think it's throwing off the o2 sensor It also been dumping alot of gas I can smell it when I'm at a complete stop

Which I will be fixing ASAP

USE PUNCTUATION. ASAP.

and yes, of course a leak around the O² sensor can mess with its readings.

You should be more worried about WHY your elbow cracked ...

Invest in a flex joint in the dp and poly bushings for hangers to help avoid cracks. Motors will torque, exh systems will sway.

And yes, exh leaks pre-o2 may throw off the a/f readings making the ecu compensate.

I just installed tomei elbow/mani and megan flex down pipe...couldnt be happier...FOR NOW lol....it does sit low unfortunatly....which can be bad cause if you hit it on something your in the same position as before.
Im gonna fabricate a "scrape plate" to bolt over it so if i do hit it on something ill know and will stop hopefully....damn apartments filled with speed bumps.

Warning: *I never give bad reviews and i hate to do it when i have too*

I purchased the tomei elbow and mani from FRsport. Prepare to wait if you do order from them, i waited almost a month, and when i called they told me they had it in stock so idk what was up. But FRsport did have the best price. I have the s15 dbb turbo and its insane crazy spool with that tomei mani. I can be cruising in 4th and when i give it like 40% throttle im pushing 14 psi. And it is amazing quality, if you do go with the tomei mani you MUST get the tomei elbow or you wont clear the trans because it moves the turbo back a little bit.

But I will for sure get the elbow that's that reaso when I give it throttle I can feel it boost and then boost cuts off for a bit and comes back

Anything you buy from Megan Racing should be regarded as a temporary part only. Ive owned enough of their products to say this with great confidence. If you dont want to replace shit later, DONT BUY MEGAN. Ive had their turbo manifold (cracked), turbo elbow (cracked), tension rods (snapped in 3k miles), short shifter (rattles), and their Type II exhaust, which rusted out in under a year. You want to know why it cracked? BECAUSE ITS MEGAN. Replace it with OEM (or something quality) and enjoy your new found reliability.

I would have gone with stock mani except when I got the engine it had a shitty xs power mani that warped on me. I normally go with superior quality parts but I was low on time and Megan was the only company that made a flex pipe that I could find. I'll do a custom vclamped flex pipe when my Megan rusts lol

Old news, just about any mani will crack, even the higher end ones. Search the topic. You will find solutions in there too. All you can do is brace the mani, flex the dp, tighten the hanger bushings with clamps or get poly bushings(or a combination of poly/clamp)...and maybe stiffer motor mounts. This will all help but theres never a 100% guaranty that it won't crack. like above, motors will torque, exh systems will sway, ...and some will bottom out. Sucks but thats the truth. If I wanted to spend the money, I'd have a custom flex'd dp made that tucks in pretty good.

i already saw downpipes dividing in 2 round tubes, so it does not get as low as others.

Regardless, if you are scraping your exhaust and it is already as high as it could, your car is too low to handle correctly ... so just kill 2 birds with one stone and just raise the car.

You must not read through the suspension thread. You can almost lay frame and handle like a dream...just know what your doing.

I tested and read it enough to know no matter how much money you can put in knuckles and roll center correction items, you cant correct it enough to handle like a dream AND almost lay frame. Whatever you do, slamming the car means burying your roll center between 1 and 2 meters underground.

Sorry to "shatter" your dreams mate. I know very well what i am doing, thank you. Get that car up now, a slammed car just looks ridiculous.

I got nothing against that, but then they have no right to complain about car not handling and scraping their exhaust
